- Heres the full route of Edinburgh marathon 2022, filmed with GoPro hero 9 on a chest mount for the whole run (needed 3 batteries). If you want to see my review and race edit videos - those are the 2 on the channel before this one. This video is here so you can see and plan the whole route, maybe its your first run and want an insight, or re-running it and want a recap. If its useful please Like, Leave a comment and maybe subscribe. I film the whole routes of all the races (full, halfs, etc) I attend, there are others on the channel.

Great video. Halfway through my training for this years and I actually got goosebumps when the finish line was in sight.
Thank you asneddon. It's a good race, save something for the last 10k if you can, for me it's more challenging than it looks on the route map/profile. But I'm sure you'll have fun 😃

@@RunThePlanet I signed up for 2023 the day after. I plan to run a Sub 4. 4hrs and 26mins for my first marathon, I was delighted with that but now the real work begins. 👍
@@tomtcf76 I'm sure you'll do fine. I found it reasonably easy to go sub4, didn't really do alot of speed work, mainly aerobic and long runs. Sub3:30 took a bit more (speed work and planning, marathon goal pace run elements in my long runs). Good luck!

ideally itd be a bit slower at the start where it's a bit crowded, but clear enough towards the end I thought.

@@robinatter8934 probably not but let's see, not decided yet. I have my eyes on other marathons and in other countries, but Edinburgh is relatively local and easy to get into so I might go again

That's great Helen! Good luck. The first half is great, I found it a bit challenging in the second half, they make out as flat but I didn't find it so easy. You'll have a great time I'm sure ☺
@@RunThePlanet if you didn't find it easy what hope do I have , London last year took me 5 hrs 48 still got a medal hopefully I can run faster but I'm 54 menopausal
@@camdentown69 your lucky to have run London, I hope to one day. Id just run the Vancouver marathon 4 weeks before Edinburgh so my preparation wasnt enough and I made it harder for self than needed 😂 , but I really wanted to run Vancouver since we were there and so have no regrets.
I am running it this May. Is the first 10K slight downhill?
Good to hear and thanks for your comments 😃 yes the first 10k is basically downhill with a small climb in it but noticibly downhill, some parts you may feel like you want to put the brakes on but mostly it should feel nice and steady going down. The last 10k is tougher than it looks on the elevation profile for me but generally ok. Good luck !!
