Axis: Bold As Love has got to be one of the greatest sophomore albums ever. The entire album is gold, even Noel's track.
Yeah
One of the best albums period
Jimi played like pouring a glass of water. Pure smooth.
I really think he learned a lot doing the chitlin circuit in his early days, working with all those artists. His rhythm playing was amazing
Undoubtedly, Jimi, as the other's, were forged in fire.
Someone once tried to convince me that John Mayer’s cover of this song was better because “he did more with the song than Hendrix”. Lol… GTFO. Aside from Jimi actually having CREATED the tune, he has so much movement, phrasing, tone, and soul throughout it. Still setting the standard almost 60 years later. Simply incredible.
I have been quite angry for a long while for, the only version of this song uploaded on RUclips was John Mayer's one and, in my opinion, he does not do a bad job with his guitar but... He sings as if somebody were treading on a rat... Then guy told me that, the drummer who plays with Mayer played better than Mitch Mitchell, of course, I didn't even reply... it would have been more productive if I had tried to make a mule recite Macbeth, by Shakespeare, letterally...
John Mayer is a pretentious guitarist, i’ll pass anyday on him, Jimi Hendrix slays always
This is what so many shredders miss: to be a GREAT guitarist, you need to play great RHYTHM guitar as well as lead.
Amen! As masterly as shredders' playing technique may seem to those easily impressed, shredding alone does not great music make!
I think rhythm much more important. Maybe fast lead solos is more easier to hear than rhythms.😀
Buzz saw from hardware store does the same job without all the decades of practice.
@@giulioluzzardi7632 huh? Are you saying Jimi had decades of practice? Because if so, Jimi had only been playing for 7-8 years when he made his first album.
I don’t exactly know what shredders do or if they miss rhythm but part of the problem is education taking over an art form. So in other words you can look at rock guitar as Hendrix-Post Hendrix Van Halen/ post Van Halen but also pre Guitar Institute and post Guitar Institute that’s why all the shredders are as they are because they are being taught by the same GIT instructors.
Man, Jimi’s rhythm Guitar cord structure is very complex, but true!
The only guitarist with the vision to combine the styles of Buddy Guy (for leads) and Curtis Mayfield (for rhythm). And then there's the songwriting! Amazing. Truly a genius.
He couldn't read or write music, but he could create it.
Lovely bit at 1:43 that I missed on the normal mix
Hendrix is kind of a kaleidoscope in which lots of people are pretty sure to have seen something, but miss most of it. I've been studying him for quite some time now and a number of names and relations I never heard of pop up all the time, even coming from himself (interview excerpts), his band mates or producers. The thing is that he listened to a bunch of stuff we know nothing about, including a lot of non-guitar music, and we get either helpless trying to come up with patterns, or lock him in relation to other names that have little to do with it. I mean, as a big Buddy Guy and Mayfield fan, I see very little relation between them, besides being good ad guitar.
Hendrix came up with his own high octane funky r&b rhythm style.
Master of a million licks... and they're all original. You have to really go deep to hear the influences and they were all taken to another level.
Perfect explanation.
Man was decades ahead of his followers ❤the goat
I just can't believe that JIMI plays this rhythm guitar while he sings.
But he actually does that in his “BBC SEssions” album.
Just amazing!
He was a special human being.
@@Bluesmata
Maybe he was an ailian. 👾👾👾
No overdubs just incredible! Sounds like two guitars at once!
This is the best guitarist of all time. Trust me !
So many different styles I could not pick just one
why?
Everyone knows how good Jimi was and this just goes to reinforce how much of a tasty player he was. Fantastic !!!
Arch Stanton…..Blondie I agree with you 100 %. Only good here, no bad/ugly.
This is unworldly amazing
I thought I understood this song pretty well but... no. There is soooo much going on here. All kinds of notes and licks I never noticed before. Staggering.
Yeah, listening to the isolated guitar, you can really hear the details. And these are great for learning how to play the song note for note since you can hear everything.
I literally felt so confident years ago to do a cover live of this and now listening realizing i probably only captured like 15% of the licks 🤦♂️😂
@@luisangelEXALTA Haha same 100%
He was doing all that while he was singing 😮
Jimi's sense of rhythm is insane, listen to how the rhythm and melody sound like it's bouncing... Oh yeah and that the rhythm and melody is ONE with eachother....
Jimi's best guitar skill was rhythm playing 100% imo.
Totally agree!
It's a skill that's totally overlooked indeed. Most of his songs wouldn't have been what they were, if it weren't for the fact that he was a great rhythm guitar player.
WOW, is like hearing a new song, 25 years listening all of hendrix'ss tracks ,bootlegs , lives ,studio versions, all, i mean all!!, and I still amazed how brilliant and genius he was and HE IS.
now you can hear all the colors and little details that you cannot hear in the original version. is amazing... thanks for this.
Yeah this makes all the details sing aloud, fantastic find.
I honestly did not expect it to sound this clean
Yeah. I like to try and dial in some of these great tones on my amp/pedals using these isolated tracks. Also, great for practice when you can hear just the guitar. Jimi was a monster guitarists. I don't think normies know he could play like this.
Jimi could play very dirty and very clean; he was flexible.
@@victorbrown3570 I didn't mean his tone was clean. I meant his rhythm playing was very articulate and in the pocket. Most of my exposure to his playing has been live stuff that is sloppy as f&ck
@@mabbatic Actually while writing my 1st response I asked myself if that was what you were alluding to. Personally I find Jimi's rhythm playing a major aspect of his uniqueness. Others may not think so, but that's life and it's what makes the world so interesting. We don't need a bunch of clones and sheep.
@@Bluesmata ... Normies... 😆😆😆😆 I'll have to remember that one!
Another mic drop from the master.
So beautifully played… never heard Jimi’s guitar separated like that before… just so fine!
Me neither,
I really loved his music
I could listen to him all day long
The rhythm guitar playing is pure beauty
3 minutes and 15 seconds of non stop heaven.
The playing here says it all, far beyond what any of us can possibly say. Superior post.
Smooth, quick, top of his game with his guitar and voice. Wildly original, Jimi could color the atmosphere with the love of his music. Yeah, in the sixties we breathed him in . We became one with Jimi… Love you so much Jimi!
Well said!! "Color the atmosphere" AMEN!!!
This is like oxygen
The Master the General & still ahead of his time & ours absolutely beautiful, soulful a complete masterpiece in all elements of guitar playing in one.
Absolutely Superbbbbb.
Jimi Hendrix Never 2B Repeated.
Miss u 4ever💜🥲
So 60s R&B, love it.
This is a guitar playing in funk/soul that nobody ever can do better!! ❤
I just listened to this 5 times in a row, this is incredible.
😆😆😆.... I've been playing this for my musician friends and say, check this out... They all are like "holy shit!" 😆😆😆
Erery R&B lick in one song... Whew!
Thanks for reminding us just how super funky he was. This video is a Gift, thanks!!❤
My fantasy band only has one guitar player Jimmy
This is a really nice isolated guitar part! I'm so used to the song recording's full mix.
It sounds SUPER clean doesn't it? Blew my mind when I first heard it.
amazing! no one else could do that. virtuoso playing.alltime favorite always wanted to hear just the rhythm guitar. how bout crosstown traffic?? thanks so much.
Can't stop laughing. Three guitar parts at once.
Fun to listen to. thanks for posting this jem
You can really see the Everly Brothers influence and his years of playing session come to the surface here.
ooOOOOoo we need a whole album like this! Love it! 🤩🤩🤩
Excellent! Well done.
What an incredible personality to be able to do that! Feels so great!!!
I love this song. It's cool to hear just the guitar. So much nuance.
Great work Jimi!!! Love you man
Pure pleasure .
Thanks for posting! This has always been one of my favorite Jimi songs. It ain't heavy; it ain't shreddy; it's just great guitar playing.
God I love the tone he has.
Wow Jimi all them changes flawless 😀
Il migliore di tutti i tempi
With the combination of the Beautiful music coming out of his fingers into the guitar and the guitar being a strat is simply fantastic
Adoro jimi e fam o melhor guitarrista do mundo
Amazing rhythmn guitar playing by the master!!!!
A thing of great beauty ❤
Love axis and this track Jimi playing is incredible
Musical flowers 🌺🌷
Hey this was great ! Jimi is number one all time , his feel and rhythmic timing is just beautiful, you don’t need to be technical, this is the genius of Jimi Hendrix 🎸 🎸 Thanks Blues this was a fun listen peace ☮ 🐙🍺🌊🌴🌋🐬🏝🤙🤙🤙🍄🙏
The best one!!
My god this is good!!
Just soooo tasty. I've seen that adjective used many times with regards to Jimi's playing. It's the perfect word. Maybe because listening to his playing is so satisfying; it's like eating a well-prepared meal. Tasty ! The unfortunate thing is that we will probably not have someone who can prepare such tasty musical snacks for us in our remaining years. "Gotta make sure it's right. So forever Good Night." RIP, J1M1. 😢
High level rhythm /lead soul type licks
Axis: Bold as Love was the best Hendrix album. I never tire of listening to it.
me too
Apart from the AWFUL Male backing tracks -should have used Female backing singers. That awful male backing singers -ruined the Album.
just listened 4 times on the spin ...... wow
Well said
Man that's good
Badass.man......
Thanks for posting, Gorgeous.
So original
This album has the best guitaring on it than anyother album in rock.
A Zen master !
As the saying goes ,
Heros get remembered, but Legends never die ! Soooo...
What's that make master James?
I hate being called James 2!
This isolated guitar track reminded me of SRV playing.
Yeah. SRV and Jimi are my two favorite. They have similar style imo
Because SRV copied everything Jimi originated
one hallmark of good music of any genre is you could say stuff that doesn't have to be there. this is a good example, where they could have just used the same playing repeated for each verse and chorus
Curious how you make these... Audacity? I swear it sounds like the track solo'ed from the board; with a touch of drum bleed into wherever the amp was mic'ed! Thanks for posting
A video game called rockband has the multitracks so people just downloaded the audio track of the guitar and posted them online
"And when I first heard Little Wing in Winterland - I lost my Mind....
Супер!
I would love to see the music to this🎸
WOWWWWW!!!!!
ahhhhhhhHHHHH!!!!
I remember reading somewhere that Jimi himself found this 'hard' to play! Maybe he was human after all?
I heard he did 33 takes to get this... But Mitch and Eddie Kramer said that's only cause he was a perfectionist... He could have been done within 10 takes....
@@LostMyMojo100 Jimi drove Noel crazy with his perfectionism. Noel thought it was crazy the number of takes they'd do for stuff that he thought was already great.
❤

Thanks for the memories,🌈🌈🌈
Thank you KenyNova for saying it like it is...
SO TRUE ,THIS IS GUITAR PLAYING,Not SHREDDING WITH NO FEELING OR HEART AND SOUL. WAKE UP SHREDDERS YOUR TALENT IS PLAINLY WASTED 🎶🎶🎶🎶⚡️✌️😎BOB
RHCP stole this and used it for their entire catalogue.
Who is rhcp
@@badger8800 that band from California whose songs all sound like bits of Axis
they’re still a great band
Frusciante was / is a Hendrix fan. He also plays a Strat.... so there is a bit of similarity in styles, of course.
@@StewSpaull just a little more specific 🎸🦡
HOW did he come up with this???
oh dolly may!how can you hang me up this way?I'm only a poor little sparrow!
Tim made me do it...
This reminds me of ......come on and take a free ride song
The great Ronnie Montrose playing on that one!
He was a great rhythm guitarist, although I think this audio track is slightly too fast and raised in pitch
You can use Audacity (free) and change the pitch down a half-step and the tempo. I do this often when learning these songs and don't want to change tuning.
I don't think it's sped up. He normally tuned down a half step to Eb and on the intro he hits a low Eb. It's just hard to play.
@@younken24films it’s sped up like 3-5 bpm from the original, I think the tunings the same though
@@younken24films I agree with @sleuth that it's about 3-5 bpm faster than the original LP I have from the late 70's. Tuning seems about the same... agree it's hard to play!
You can change the playback speed directly on youtube. Set it to custom and .95 for the correct tempo on the record.
This is one of his hottest songs, listen to the words ,,,,,this song,,,, what the. The,,,

Edward Van Halen Top Jimmy Isolated guitar Track ... Enjoy
Stratospherically isolated
F'ing unbelievable lead rhythm playing with those killer, juicy, bouncy rhythm chords and runs. Another example of why he's the overall best - because playing that stuff is one thing...but writing it in the first place is the challenging part - back 58 years ago. And they're throwing John Mayer in my face GTFOH
Jeff beck sound a little like this some time
C PAS HENDRIX
😂
Si c'est lui .
