Jimi Hendrix will be eternally relevant in Rock & Roll music and for the electric guitar and its endless possibilities of musical expression. He was groundbreaking in every respect.
Greg is a musicians musician -- he transcends chops and technique. He plays the song! His guitar is as vocal as a human voice. It whispers and it growls and it emulates almost all vocal emotions that the song speaks about. Insanely beautiful!
Greg is getting older …. in the best sense, less gimmicks, less Gristle? …. but more mind boggling musicality, he always had his chops , but lately with the youngsters playing with him , he seems to me really into it , incredible, incredible …
No doubt what kind of amp that is. Beautiful Tone brother!!!!! 👍 I wished I would have known about them a long time ago. I would have saved myself a lot of money buying amps.
Greg uses chromaticism to give an exotic touch to his cover, of SRV's instrumental cover, of this beautiful Hendrix classic. Exotic is a Greek word, meaning "From outside." Εξωτικός.. 😎 Have that with your Pastitsio, chocked with gristled ground beef and béchamel sauce!

I love greg with every fiber of my being. I think hes among the elite guitar players on the planet…up there with guys like tommy emmanuelle. But-and i say this with the deepest of humility since i’m literally a tiny spec of guitar playing dust compared to his royal badassedness: king koch-i wish he would take a pass on singing. I loved hearing him interpret the melody to lil wing here on the guitar as opposed to the otherwise absolutely monstrous version of red house in your other video, where, in my humblest of opinions-his singing didnt quite make it. I feel the same about the equally astonishing josh smith.
@@kevinkinnu341 I fully agree with you. I'm sure you love Jimi's Royal Albert Hall version too. It is very close to his studio version with a killer wah ending.
Jimi is still relevant 54 years later greatness never leaves us thank you for the gift Jimi ❤️

Tone for day's, excellent tone
He can play anything he likes. One of the best ever.
Indeed
This shows that Greg knows his way around a guitar and also that Jimi was a brilliant composer. Great version Greg!
One of the hardest working guitarists on the planet never fails to entertain the audience a true genius accomplished musician, 🎸❤️🎸❤️
Maravilhosa versão
I like the fact that the only thing Greg takes seriously is playing guitar and he is bloody good at it .
He's alright
I just love how playful Greg is
Masterclass,Greg you’re GENIUS❤

Jimi would be happy, you did him justice, great guitar playing.
That was fucking majestic.
Fantastic! Great musicians!
We know the song, we know the melody, yet his little twists and turns make most of his work sublime.
Always been one of my fave Hendrix tunes...

Great twist to make it his own. I watch his guitar reviews and just never realized how truly amazing he is.

Sweet.....
It’s more amazing that he did this on a 3/4 scale guitar.
Lol.
Greg is a true master. So fun to watch him tear it up.
The gristle king strikes again 👍
That guitar sounds good 👍
Thank you! built from scratch.
Damn killing it !!!!!! Kicking Wing

Yes!
He did Clapton and Beck style too. He was throwing things several players do in there.
Yeah, outside the box! "Exo" That's why his Gristletime from the Orange Room streams are so "out there"! @@CorbCorbin
Love the what at the end 5:55

I agree, 100%, I am still learning how to work the camera on my phone. I promise to do better. I appreciate these helpful suggestions. For real.

Is that a Dumble on top of that Soldano cab?
No. It's a Tone King Royalist.
liked to hear that through a leslie
Fucking surperb
Absolutely!
When it comes to this song but blues in general I would rather hear all the inflections and emotions pressed into every note..;/@
Not that Greg isn’t a killer player.. cause he is
Roch with yer Koch out.
Up there with Guthrie and mancuso

A mansquatch among children
noice
Bigfoot can sho play
Guitars always look so small on Greg.
They really do! lol
Hell of a player… but not my thing.
Zero soul, only technical nonsense.
I only want to hear the original Hendrix version.
The unique astral quality it had. Every other version is a pale comparison

I’m ok with your first sentence but then you go and spoil your comment with the second.
Koch is playing his version. Srv played the best version imo. Greg is a great player.
That was awful.
Just because you can do something, doesn’t mean you should.
Looking forward to the video of you playing it right.
I am not impressed
