Luka is getting a fine amount of free throws but the way he gets them is weird, he will do the pump fake into a floater to get free throws, which is kind of scummy but they reward him with it but when he gets genuinely hacked he doesnt get calls. But if they just reversed that and make it normal he still would shoot the same amount of free throws but it would feel less “mavs against refs” Jason kidd is very very terrible, his offensive game plan is chicago to get luka or kyrie open, simple pnr and iso from there, the defensive scheme is so convoluted that players like maxi kleber doesnt know where to be and he’s really smart defensively. Also he’s a players coach, it works with players like lebron who are natural leaders but im not sure luka is that type of guy.

for mavs the good should’ve been that we have luka, a geniune savant and generational talent, or another good thing is win or lose every mavs game is gonna be electrifying with luka and kyrie playing, we’re the showtime mavs w the crazy passes and shots those 2 produce and hit themselves. a huge negative is our defense and coaching for defense, kidd wants a steal heavy defensive scheme where someone tries to steal the ball to rattle the softens but it just puts us out of position of offense and so many plays end w the ball zipping weird the 3 point line til it ends up in a wide open 3 w luka barely trying to close out
