      How can he take accountability when his feelings are gone, he does not feel any empathy for anyone. He will never change and his condition will only get worse. It would take years to heal that emptiness in him but without the certainty that he would be cured and rehabilitated, he does not even think that he has a problem, he does not even think that he is doing anything wrong when he is hitting someone.

That is him overvaluing himself and thinking the threat of retirement is a negotiating tool to get a lighter punishment. The league and his team are the prime enablers here as he was never suspended for slugging Poole. That there sent the message to him that what he did was minor in their estimation. The league left the decision on punishment with the Warriors and Lacob’s decided he didn’t want Green to miss the ring ceremony as his reason for not suspending him.

That doesn't excuse it, but interpreting this as manipulation is rather unfair imo. This is something he struggles with rather than being a representation of him. Maybe I'm biased because I struggled with depression and the like myself, but I know firsthand that you don't see the world how it actually is, you see the emotions you feel rather than what's actually happening.

      But after a decade of this same behavior, with access to hundreds of millions of dollars and all the best mental help facilities, it's a him problem to deal with. He's an grown adult whos attempted multiple times to actualy physically injure different players over a sport. Draymond damaged the teams winning culture by creating a more toxic atmosphere in and out of the locker room. He's responsible for losing KD, he's mostly to blame for losing them a championship when he was suspended a game during the finals for his poor behaviour, then he punched Jordan Poole which IMO was the straw that broke the Warriors back. All 3 situations are because of his arrogant, ignorant attitude and then the whole team has to pretend like none of that happened or its not his fault or risk even more locker room drama....which damages the teams cohesiveness anyways. I realize he's also a huge reason for their success as well, but it went to his head and here we are today. Hell, its even his fault they missed the playoffs this year.

      Even the NFL is better than this, just look at Vontaze Burfict. They noticed a pattern of behavior, suspended him for 2/3 of the 2019 season after the hit on Jack Doyle, and no team in the league has touched him since then, even though his suspension was lifted by the league. The fact that Adam Silver talked him out of retiring is absolutely wild to me. Why would you fight to keep around a 35 year-old with self-control issues that put the league's future stars in danger?

    • @cycleoflife565
      @cycleoflife565 12 дней назад

      @@geisenmThere was no talking him out if retiring because he wasn’t going to retire anyway. He had just signed a contract and had 3 years of pay still coming. He wasn’t going to give millions just like that. I would hope Silver is that gullible to believe that weak play by Draymond.

Everything positive about Draymond’s game is canceled out, probably overweighed, by his negatives.

      You could always tell that Artest wasn’t all there. Green is just a menace who thinks that his antics are necessary for him to maintain respect in the league. He is about as remorseful as a lion feeding in the wild. He sneaks his violent acts in his victims knowing that there will always be officials and other players to there to rush in before he subjected to any retaliation AND I believe he is playing the odds that most players value their wallet and their teammates more than getting even. It is a coward’s mentality.

    Green might have trouble after he retires. The NBA handles on court violent incidents when you are a player, usually just suspensions and fines. Green will have no protection for his violent outbursts after leaving the basketball world. Won't surprise me at all to learn about incidents with law enforcement after he is done. That sucker punch on Poole would have landed him a felony assault charge in the real world, for example.

  • @LISA75_
    @LISA75_ 7 месяцев назад +3

    Draymond Green is a thug , and Poole was right he is Curry's backpack or I like to think of him as Curry's personal binky , that's the only reason that I could see Curry wanting him still on the team , he gives him a feeling of security like a big ill-tempered pacifier . The amount of problems he causes , to the fact you can not rely on him being there for the big games because he can't control his emotions or his reactions, has made him nothing but a burden for the last few years .

    Why do people dislike him, cause he's exactly what Jordan Poole says - an expensive backpack. Yes, nobody doubts he made the most of chances - winning DPOTY is no small feat. But without Klay and Steph (maybe even Iggy) drawing away defenders, he would not be scoring 10+ a game, evident during the 2019 season when he had to be the focal point and ended up the 4th highest scorer on the team even with Klay and Steph injured. On a warriors team, known to be their defender, his shooting shouldn't be that horrific.
