Great Video, because of what was not in it. No 5 minute selfie intro, No continous empty words, just a factual and demonstrable comparison. Excellent Video, and i am in South China with nothing else to do on a quiet evening.
the info you give make me happy, why i buy the gen 7 yesterday and the result you show impresme to much and my gen 7 will be in stock tire for ever, thanks a lots really helpful info, you save me money
Best test of tires I've ever seen. You need to do more testing of other r/c parts. Great video! I was placing bets at the beginning to see which tire would win. I lost.
LoL I lost my own bet too. Take a look at my other videos on the channel. I’ve tested a lot of stuff including servos and lipos along with other tires and some new products too.
Badass ramp test! Make those out of a multitude of composites and u have quite the arena all on its own! So far I've only had the Gmade Komodo tires that come with it, and as long as u don't chew em up rudely, they do rather well but I'm rather impressed by your options 👏
great video, at first I thought the ramp was a bit optimistic in the angle/surface texture and thought all the tires would perform poorly. Happily surprised, lol.
These 1/10th cars still apply the principles of offroading. 1/10th scale tire rpm and grip principles. Lowering the voltage down equivalent to a doublers low range, will drastically reduce the wheelspin, and enhance the traction. The truck with the slowest roll on any of those tires that grip even a little, will creep right up to the top the slower you go. Wayyyy too much wheel spin on the first two tires. However, I imagine, its hard to get motor rpms that slow with the trigger setup. So it is what it is.
I had a gen 7 but upgraded to a sport and I actually used the redcat tires today on a crawl and I ain't gunna lie..... It really impressed me and another friend as well. Gun a run them some more to test the waters
Well I have more coming up with the Proline Hyrax, Pitbull Rockbeast, KLR (same ones you see here) and the Duratrax Deepwoods. I can tell you this, either the Hyrax or the KLR’s are the way to go, the KLR’s don’t come with foams so they are more expensive.
Are any of the wheels and tires that performed worse than the stock redcat wheels and tires vented? I've heard tires and wheels not being vented prevents some from performing as well as vented wheels and tires. I'd like to know before I started cutting holes in tires though.
Great test. Try a set of duratrax deep woods c3. I have never tested them on a piece of plywood like your test but they are typically what I run and in most all conditions they have outperformed all the other tires I've tried up to this point
lol, yeah on most comp courses you do find wood obstacles, this was a was to get some form of consistency for the test. I have quite a few other tire tests with rocks and dirt if you want to see them.
I'm looking for a good overall tire to mount on the 1.9beadlocks for my trx6... I'm very happy with the stock tires durability and performance, little bit of wear and have over 20 hours on them. Any suggestion?
The Gen 7 tire was the only one that caused a backflip. It was CG limited, not grip limited. To really call a winner I would need to see how the Redcat tires do with the same weighted wheels and foams. Weight and foams make a massive difference when grip is not the limiting factor.
About the Red Cat car, is it a good crawler? - its pretty cheap compared to the Traxxas and Axials - we do have a seller for the brand now - its a brand we never heard of before here in the northern countries, (Northern Scandinavia) greets Levi
I like the cheaper wheels as well both 2.2 & 1.9 odd though, i have never heard of most thise tires, i run Proline, PitBulls , Rovers etc going on smoth wood good test but, i was introduced to the hobby with a 10th scale Axial Scorpion with 2.2, i don't get much into scale, i have a Rubicon lifted, but I run competition rigs
If I can find a suitable spot to get a controlled test on rocks and other surfaces I will. I tried on a rock pile and the darn truck went right up every line I could find that didn’t have axle grabbers, can’t test like that when everything goes right up.
Which rock is wood? My bro run the TRX4 Bronco and sport on his stock tires and foams on wet sharp rocks with very good climbing results i have a hard day to follow him with my SCX 10 ll (Free Men)on my Louise rowdy tires on aluminium Austar wheels. You can watch the video on my channel.
Nice test!... I think the redcat tires may not work good when they get wet it felt like that to me but I am not sure...maybe wet tires and wet wood climb test =)
Couple questions for ya. Forgive me if some of them seem ignorant, I'm relatively new to the crawler scene. 1, Is there any particular reason you didn't try out the popular Pro-line Hyrax? 2, Why was your FR tire lifting from the surface and can that be fixed or is it just a geometry issue with the Redcat? 3, How big a difference would it make strictly in this test using a 1.95 vs 2.2s?
I didn’t notice any heat on any of the tires but with the spinning that’s going on it wouldn’t surprise me if a little bit was made at the tread surface on these climbs.
I actually really like the Redcat Iroks. They're officially licensed, aggressive tread, come in 1.9 and 2.2, and they seem to grip amazing. At least on my Gen8.
Exocaged RC were do you get the ott six klr gold compound voodoo foam alum rim wheels would love to get them for my traxxas trx 4 Mercedes g500 crawler
That was an awesome test. I also was impressed with the performance of the stock tires I bet you that with aluminum wheels they will perform as good as the Klrs. Great job great video
Pretty interesting the difference between the cut and uncut traxxas tyres. Kinda counter-intuitive result for a smooth surface. Are they running the same foams?
Thanks. It was suggested to do the same test again but have a wet ramp so that may happen. I’d be real surprised if it changes anything as far as which one wins but it would be interesting for sure.
Yeah I’ve been posting I want stock ones for $20 shipped. LoL I’d like to see what they would do in nice wheels with good foams. They’d be right there with the Gold KLR’s I’m sure.
These tires are what I use in comps. That’s why some are foamed differently. I’m editing together a new test using new tires and that should be up in a week or so. Using Hyrax, Rockbeast, Deepwoods and the KLR’s from this test.
Low budget there are several trucks, for speed and more bashing look at a Traxxas Stampede or Rustler, for a scaler like you see in this video get the Redcat Everest Gen7 Sport, in fact thats whats I'm using in this video.
I agree with you, its amazing this video has so many views so I am putting together a new one using new Pitbull Rockbeast XL's, new Proline Hyrax, new Duratrax Deepwoods and using the KLR Golds you see in this video, all using the same wheel and using the foams that came with the tires so stay tuned for those as they are coming up soon.
You’re welcome, what’s neat is I go into these tests with my own expectations and so far I haven’t been right once as to what wins. Got a motor test coming up tomorrow with the Gen7, the results for that one are very clear.
Who do you order those Chinese wheels from? Any particular place? I was amazed at how well the Redcat tires hooked up on the plywood, then the KLR Gold were even better. Very impressed. Not too surprised at how bad the Traxxas tires did. I have owned several Traxxas rigs, and the tires were the first to go. The swampers are more designed for mud, not so much for smooth surfaces, so to be fair, do a test with them on a muddy surface, and other types of surfaces to see how each of them do on them. You will be surprised at how well they do.
I like my redcat Everest. The only thing is it doesn't turn very sharp at all. Everything stock, it out climbs all of my trucks. Two screws on front of axle hit the turnbuckle and will only allow about 30° of turning.
never in a million years would i have thought that was possible traxxas just knows how to make a good looking tire, making it have traction also is just too hard for them!! i would think that weight is only and advantage @ less then 45 degrees, @ 60 degrees the weight is probably more a disadvantage then advantage because of gravity
Awesome work, it will be nice if you do a high speed test on this particular tires, I mean a good tire have to be good in all type of terrain.. "By the way I just find you and just subscribed" thanks for posting.
Thanks, how fast do you want? Most scalers don't go much past 20mph at the most and any of these will get that easy, I have a video of this truck getting 44mph on stock tires if that helps.
In honesty I don't need any speed at all! I use to drag race in NY... but that was using nitro engines... so there's not real comparison! I do remember having a hard time getting good traction... beside of the foam tires.. but that is not applicable... thanks for the response.
NICE TEST VIDEO !!!!... i actually just got some OTTSIX KLR SILVERS for my buggy there sweet awesome traction , and for the price of 25$ i wasnt complaining
You can orderoff eBay or any number of online retailers. If you have the extra money get the pro. Look up Redcat Gen 7. Here is a sport rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F302520351304
LoL I know! They were actually the 3rd test and I was surprised, they were the only ones to get grip enough to flip it backwards. It’s possible since they were stock weight, they didn’t have enough to hold the front down.
Good job., wood is very different than rock or stone. I think if done wet the outcome could be way off. I’ve had cheap Chinese knock off climb wood better than top brand.., till there a surface with actual grit...
Great Video, because of what was not in it. No 5 minute selfie intro, No continous empty words, just a factual and demonstrable comparison. Excellent Video, and i am in South China with nothing else to do on a quiet evening.
lol thanks, I have a lot more tire test and other videos on the way so stay tuned.
Very interesting test. I can't believe how well the stock redcat tires performed.
Great video watched to the end 😊 did not think any would do it after the first few, epic 👍🤘
Thanks for telling us when the video starts. That was pretty conscientious.
Wow, great info. How about a link to those winners. I just bought an Everest Pro myself. I can't find exact tires online though ?
the info you give make me happy, why i buy the gen 7 yesterday and the result you show impresme to much and my gen 7 will be in stock tire for ever, thanks a lots really helpful info, you save me money
Haven't ever owned a proper RC anything but still fun to see that little crawler at the edge of traction.
That is a Redcat Everest 10 Gen7 scaler. They are only about $200 RTR. It’s a low cost way into the scaler world of RC’s
Cool video, awesome to see the stock Gen7 wheels and tires do so well.
They are an awesome tire for sure
Best test of tires I've ever seen. You need to do more testing of other r/c parts. Great video! I was placing bets at the beginning to see which tire would win. I lost.
LoL I lost my own bet too. Take a look at my other videos on the channel. I’ve tested a lot of stuff including servos and lipos along with other tires and some new products too.
Exocaged RC I will definitely check those out
I love the sound of the second to the last set, they even sounded real, chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp, lol soo cool, great video
Yeah they sure do
Jon H i shit myself
Badass ramp test! Make those out of a multitude of composites and u have quite the arena all on its own! So far I've only had the Gmade Komodo tires that come with it, and as long as u don't chew em up rudely, they do rather well but I'm rather impressed by your options 👏
No bullshit simple grip test, timestamp for the action, valued youtuber ! Thumbs up
Excellent test. Had me glued to the screen from start to stop.
Thank you. I’ll have a wet ramp test up tomorrow or Thursday.
Quadcopter 101 ?
Yep, that's me.
Quadcopter 101 k
I have no idea why but that was very addictive to watch....beautiful looking truck.......
Awesome idea limiting the throttle so many reviewers just give it more juice for the tires they like. Awesome comparison.
great video, at first I thought the ramp was a bit optimistic in the angle/surface texture and thought all the tires would perform poorly. Happily surprised, lol.
Great vid brother, big thumbs up 👍👍👍👍👍
Great video👍 really shows tires do matter! I wonder how my tires would do 🤔
That was super impressive. Thanks for sharing!
Wow. Very educational and surprising. Thanks
Im curious on if the stock gen7 tires would have made it the top if they had medal rims thanks for the video keep it up.
With a bit more weight yeah I think they would have

Awesome video brother , I like the stock rubber that came with my Gen 7, not to shabby I'd say for a stock tire 👍
The stock Gen7 tires are really awesome.
wow love the tier test great video
Excellent review my friend!
I'm loving the china wheels I can't stop buying them! lol
Yeah I’ve never had a cheap metal wheel fail.
same, only got 1 chassis and 6 sets of wheels.

yeah they are really good tires
Nice job man 👍🏻👍🏻 Very informative.
Thanks for your test. I finally got a conclusion what I need to buy.
Thanks. I look forward to watching your next video.
Good vid dude 👍 would like to see you do the same test using the trx 4 😃
With the added weight it may change results but I’m not sure by how much.
Wow what a video.. those redcats rock
You change anything on this from out of the box like suspension or add weight anywhere?
no added weight, stock suspension
I can't believe how well those stock gen 7 tires hooked up!!! And then those poor trx 4 tires didn't hardly make it to the tape 😂😂😂
LoL no they didn’t. Pretty bad, heck the proline swampers barely got off the base board!
Do we know if the gen 8 tires are the same as these gen 7s? I'm looking into both but if the stock 7 tires are better I'll likely go with that.
Are any of the wheels and tires that performed worse than the stock redcat wheels and tires vented? I've heard tires and wheels not being vented prevents some from performing as well as vented wheels and tires. I'd like to know before I started cutting holes in tires though.

I have tested them. look at my other videos as they are in 3 tire test videos. They doo good but the stock foams are horribly too soft
Awesome video and test!
Enjoyed the video - well made very informative.
Great video!
Damn. I bet redcat would love this as a promo video. Awesome video brother.
I think one of them are subbed so maybe they’ll see it.
See if they can send you a Danchee Ridgerock! I'm curious what you would break/upgrade first :D
Dude pretty impressive what the difference in tire is. Those Redcat tires sound like actual full scale tires barking.
yep they sure do and still work great
I still love the Swamper tires! Even though they failed miserably in this test...
I’ve won a lot of comps with them but things change and compounds get better, plus I like the KLR tires.
Awesome video!!
I have a hard time finding plywood rocks in my local hills. I usually find granite rocks. Hehe😈
lol, yeah on most comp courses you do find wood obstacles, this was a was to get some form of consistency for the test.
Where at on Florida? I just moved here from WV and having a hard time finding anywhere to rc. crawler/ trail truck.
I’m in and around Jacksonville, so north east Florida.
Exocaged RC do you know where green cove Springs is? I just ordered a gen 7 sport and would be interested in comparing and learning how to use it.
I'm the oppisite I just moved from Florida to WV
Those red cats are pretty impressive. Does anyone know the diameter of those tires?
not really sure what the specs are but on the table they are just as tall as the KLR tires and they say they are 4.75"
Excellent comparison vid!.. could only be improved by same wheels/ weights... Those stock cheapo wheels were the biggest winner I'd say..
Yeah I agree. Maybe one day I can do a test like you describe.
Sweet video, never thought the truck would get past halfway or so. Earned my sub...

It’s a decent beginners truck that can be built up very well.
@@ExocagedRC thanks!
I’m about to get the gen 7 pro, how long does the battery last? From your experience
Killer video man i love watching these type of testing videos

Really a great video mate keep it up , subbed .
Great video, wet comparison would be interesting please
Yeah that’s on the schedule for this weekend. I’ll probably drop the 60 degrees down to about 45 as I doubt any will make the top.
Great tyre test man
Thank you. I have more tire tests on the way I’m just waiting for them all to arrive.
The wheels on the winning klr tires are they the cheap Amazon ones? How well do they do holding a bead?
Yep and so far I’ve had no issues at all with them. Beads hold great.
Impressive rig
What wheelbase is that set to? 12.6”? I would imagine the 12.3” would flip too easily.
On every course I’ve ever run on there are wooden built obstacles.
Hey I’m new to this hobby was wondering How well does it crawl with 2.2s?
So long as you set it up right it does fine.
Good test vid..very interesting .....thanks...
excellent true test tire review thanks
What was the angle on that ramp? You put out great stuff man. Thank you 👍🏽
Nice test!... I think the redcat tires may not work good when they get wet it felt like that to me but I am not sure...maybe wet tires and wet wood climb test =)
That’s a thought. I could set up a mist or something so it’s consistent. Hmmm maybe over the holidays who knows.
Is there a friction to heat to loss of traction dynamic influencing this?
I didn’t notice any heat on any of the tires but with the spinning that’s going on it wouldn’t surprise me if a little bit was made at the tread surface on these climbs.
I actually really like the Redcat Iroks. They're officially licensed, aggressive tread, come in 1.9 and 2.2, and they seem to grip amazing. At least on my Gen8.
Wow this video is full of information!
how tall are those redact stock tires man? In milimeters? Thank you
according to my calipers they measure out to 117mm, which is the same as the KLR tires
Exocaged RC were do you get the ott six klr gold compound voodoo foam alum rim wheels would love to get them for my traxxas trx 4 Mercedes g500 crawler
I got them from Ottsix.com
Interesting... For my valuation tires
Where are you at in Florida?
That was an awesome test. I also was impressed with the performance of the stock tires I bet you that with aluminum wheels they will perform as good as the Klrs. Great job great video
Thank you, I have tires and wheels ordered for another set of tests so stay tuned.
Great video, makes me want to mod my crawler and get some steep angle climbs
And with the Anti-foams?
Pretty interesting the difference between the cut and uncut traxxas tyres. Kinda counter-intuitive result for a smooth surface. Are they running the same foams?
No one set is box stock and the other has CI Lil Nova foams and heavier wheels. I list this under that portion of the video.
Oh ok. Thanks for clarifying. Great job on the vid btw. I love these kind of tests.
Thanks. It was suggested to do the same test again but have a wet ramp so that may happen. I’d be real surprised if it changes anything as far as which one wins but it would be interesting for sure.
Liked the test! I have to say i was really impressed with the gen7 stock tires.
Yeah I’ve been posting I want stock ones for $20 shipped. LoL I’d like to see what they would do in nice wheels with good foams. They’d be right there with the Gold KLR’s I’m sure.
Are these tires all from the bags, or have they all been run on different terrains ?
These tires are what I use in comps. That’s why some are foamed differently. I’m editing together a new test using new tires and that should be up in a week or so. Using Hyrax, Rockbeast, Deepwoods and the KLR’s from this test.
Exocaged RC, alright, you have my attention!!! ;)
Sweet comparison very good job I didn't have that much luck with my stock tires on the plywood challenge
I was surprised at how well the Gen7 tires did.

Yeah I have had once since they first came out. It has a red and white bronco body. Look through my other videos as I have a bunch of that truck.
What tire was that at the 10 min mark? I want those!!!! Thanks
Ottsix KLR Gold Compound
Good job on the video man!
can you recommend a good rc car - low budget for a beginner - i'm in hamburg germany -roads=wet=grass=little rough
Low budget there are several trucks, for speed and more bashing look at a Traxxas Stampede or Rustler, for a scaler like you see in this video get the Redcat Everest Gen7 Sport, in fact thats whats I'm using in this video.
Keep the good work with that
unless you're running the same exact wheel and tire diameter for all how can this be a true test of performance?
I agree with you, its amazing this video has so many views so I am putting together a new one using new Pitbull Rockbeast XL's, new Proline Hyrax, new Duratrax Deepwoods and using the KLR Golds you see in this video, all using the same wheel and using the foams that came with the tires so stay tuned for those as they are coming up soon.
Cool,I look forward to seeing it,thanks for doing these tests, thanks!
You’re welcome, what’s neat is I go into these tests with my own expectations and so far I haven’t been right once as to what wins. Got a motor test coming up tomorrow with the Gen7, the results for that one are very clear.
Who do you order those Chinese wheels from? Any particular place?

for sure I've been running the swampers for years and they work great, just not on wood. I want to do mud and sand soon. I get my wheels from ebay.
Got any “used” rc’s for sale??
I very rarely sell anything
Is this an XJ based truck? I was - we were hooked
Not really sure what the body is, it’s not licensed so it’s kind of a Mutant suv of some kind.
That is a Redcat Gen7 Truck.
I didn't think anything would be better than the gen7
Those stock tires did great
I like my redcat Everest. The only thing is it doesn't turn very sharp at all. Everything stock, it out climbs all of my trucks. Two screws on front of axle hit the turnbuckle and will only allow about 30° of turning.
you can trim the steering limits on the knuckles to get more steering.
Exocaged RC thanks. I'll try that. If I can get it to turn better, I'll get another one.
That's pretty amazing. Now only if my real truck had that kind of traction.
never in a million years would i have thought that was possible
traxxas just knows how to make a good looking tire, making it have traction also is just too hard for them!!
i would think that weight is only and advantage @ less then 45 degrees, @ 60 degrees the weight is probably more a disadvantage then advantage because of gravity
Awesome work, it will be nice if you do a high speed test on this particular tires, I mean a good tire have to be good in all type of terrain.. "By the way I just find you and just subscribed" thanks for posting.

Maybe build a slippery rock "ramp" (most difficult surface i can think about), because i want to watch how the different tires compare.
I have tires tests on rocks already
fun to drive but why you remove orifinal
original what? Tires? If its tires you are asking about, its to test and see how the other tires do against each other.
I call shenanigans on the stock tires... Lol.
WOW, wasn't expecting that !!
LoL I know! They were actually the 3rd test and I was surprised, they were the only ones to get grip enough to flip it backwards. It’s possible since they were stock weight, they didn’t have enough to hold the front down.
is that full throttle?
No, I set the throttle epa to 20 so there was no momentum, the tires had to do the work.
Good job., wood is very different than rock or stone. I think if done wet the outcome could be way off.
I’ve had cheap Chinese knock off climb wood better than top brand.., till there a surface with actual grit...
I agree. Those swampers were horrible on this test but run great out on the trail or a course
