I swear your the only person I’ve seen so far that actually tells you the chords instead of going ThIs iS a 1-69-8 progression and not even mentioning the key or elaborating on the chords at all XD big respect 6-3-4-1 in major is a good progression so in C that would be Amin7-Eminor7-fmajor7-Cmajor7
The voicing makes it difficult to see but it is a 6 5 1, what's throwing people off is probably that the 5th of the first two chords is also being played in the bass rather than the root, then the first C chord also has something like an add 2, add 6. Honestly this was not a good example to use.
@@ChironAce in a minor scale the 3rd 6th and 7th are flat so in c minor that means that A which is the 6th note is A flat or G#. So the progression is going from the 6th (G#) to the 5th (G natural) and ends with the 1st chord which is C minor. There’s no add 6 in the first C and the add 2 is actually a 9 since it comes after the 7th(just to clarify we’re talking about the same note, add 2 is the correct name when there’s no 7th and 9 is used when there’s the 7th, in both cases it’s still a D in the example of C minor). And yeah the 6 and 5 use voicings where the 5th is on the bass, but the roots are actually G# and G. Hope that helped
You are in the Key of C minor Let's assume that C is the i. C minor is build with 7 notes : C D Eb F G A Bb as i II III IV vi VI vii So a G# - Gm- Cm chord progression is a 6 - 5 - 1 I hope u understand.
Same I see everything in the major key. Makes it a lot easier. For comparison as well. For example: F will be 4 regardless if the key is C major (ionian) or A minor (aeolian). But do what's best for you✌️
Lovely! I'm new to music and I'm quite confused. Pls I really need to understand, if it's a 6-5-1 progression and the key is in C# shouldn't a 6 be a C minor chord? Thanks
6 5 1 means what number chord in the scale for the key you are in :) so if you search a key and look at the chord progressions, he is using the 6th, 5th and 1st chord in that scale if that makes sense
Theyre named based on what scale degree the chord is built off and denoted a roman numeral (kinda unnecessary), sonority and inversion which bro does not include. This is a bVI maj7 (flat-major 6)- v min7 (minor 5) - i min7 add2 (minor 1). This is a cadence more so than a progression.
Can someone help? I'm playing around and trying to do a cover for fun but I'm not sure what the chords are.. I got A Major 6 1 5 7 progression... Would that be right?

Oh boy 🎉
Initially, it almost sounds like Ella Mai - didn't say ft Latto
it would be Ab if it was the 6. same thing but making it sharp is not right. Also what you said was a C# was actually a C minor
