I need to do an addendum to this video - the TandemKross DoubleKross do not fit as easily in aftermarket stocks as the BX-1 magazines. They work fine in stock 10/22 actions. The Butler creeks I ended up selling because they really only worked correctly when you have 19 rounds or less in them

BX15 is really good than BX25. BX25 has lots of feeding issues. Ruger 10/22 rifle doesn’t like magazines more than 15 rounds..

@@Factchecker_Diplomat_007 my BX25’s run fine with the right ammo- round nose like CCI mini mag or Aguila Super extra, or some federal round nose work best

Really neat display of 10/22 extended mags. I had the Ramline 10/22 mags in the 1980's. Both twenty and I recall twenty five rounder's. My favorite was the Mitchell (teardrop) fifty round mag. It never fed all fifty cartridges and would leave a cartridge or two, so more correctly a 48 rounder. It worked best with solid point fodder like Remington Thunderbolt and that 10/22 barrel would really heat up. A big ouch if you weren't careful. My first gun purchase was the 10/22 in late 1970's, a boss rimfire.

You are correct to say that BX-15 and BX-25 magazines work in the same fashion, ie prone to misfeeds. Compare the size of their heads to the BX-10 rotary (which works flawllessly) . The 15 and 25 are significantly smaller and do not fit as snuggly into the receiver causing wobble and misfeeds. Ruger has ignored this problem for far too long. 10/22 owners of the world, unite!

      @crankygunreviews  3 года назад +1

I have very few issues with BX-15 and BX-25 in my 10/22’s or my American Rimfire. More issues around ammo not working in the mags than mag issues. If I use federal plated round nose, or blazer lead, or auto match, they work 100%

    • @Factchecker_Diplomat_007

BX15 has no feeding issues. But BX25 has many feeding issues! Ruger 10/22 carbine doesn’t like magazines having more than 15 rounds!

I use the Alangator (3 into 1) coupler with 3 BX-1's and it has been working flawlessly for me. Makes us CA people feel like we have a 30 round mag when NOT.

TANDEMKROSS DoubleKross are great and legal for compliance states that have round limiting laws. Since the mechanisms are technically in different cavities and you have to swap the mag around, they are not restricted. This means you MA, NJ, NY, HI, CA and many more.

I liked the video. I use strictly Ruger mags and have numerous BX-1, BX-15 and BX-25's in use. I like the 25 mags for plinking and use mostly Federal 36 gr gp since its so cheap. I use the 15 mags for target practice and use CCI minimag 36 and 40 gr. The 10's are for hunting/varmints and I use Stingers,Velocitors and Standard. It makes it easy for me because I keep them loaded and I can just grab and go (knowing whats in them) any time.

I did a little filing on my BX25's. I also polished where the rounds were hanging up. I put a KIDD magazine plunger kit in my rifle also. It has a heavier duty plunger spring. You could stretch your stock spring to put more tension on the magazine. That way they won't wobble around and cause jamming problems. I also polished the feed ramp area where I filled it with a Dremel and Mother's chrome polish. I've noticed that there's about 10 different fixes for malfunctioning BX15 and BX25 magazines. If your gun shoots fine with the BX10 magazines and doesn't work well with the 15's & 25's,it's not the rifle. It's the magazine(s). I doubt you can ever make them 100% reliable. You can only make them better.

I have 3 10 shell mags and 1 30 round magazine. I cannot remember how many shells I put in 30 round magazine initially. I’m filling 30 round magazine now. HOW can I tell when it’s full? (I put some in when I bought but forgot).
I need the gun now bc crime is High by my house now and my husband and son both work nights. I’m here alone. Homeless or thugs have been sitting on our front porch at night. Our side sliding glass door is broke, No money to fix, on SS.
Please, I’m not trying to be a pain, used to target 🎯 shoot all the time in back yard, .22, .12 ga shotgun, and my 2- brothers shot clay pigeons in backyard to practice for duck 🦆 hunting. I was young then. I’m 65 now and weaker.

Best way to tell how many rounds are in it is to unload it. Use a pocket knife, fork, your fingernail, or anything you can to strip the rounds out the top of the magazine, then count when you reload.

@@crankygunreviews thanks. I think I know. I put in about 20 shells then it wouldn’t take next one. Thanks for your help.
Since I am here alone, I’d like to mount Ruger on wall. I hope I can figure out.
Many, many years ago I was hunted/stalked by 2 “desert rats,” while driving cross country. I happened to have a short barrel .12 ga hidden in backseat so,,, let’s just say I prayed for 45 minutes then remembered I had gun. When they made final move to run me off road, I pulled out gun and they left in a big hurry. I had to laugh because I prayed and didn’t want to shoot anyone but I made a decision that I would not give up my life to scum. Therefore, my last prayer was:
God, if this car comes to a stop for any reason, please help me kill them before they kill me.
I should’ve reported it (near Tonopah/Beatty Nevada). I didn’t. I got to my friends house near NV Test site Area 51 and he said in past 3- weeks police found 3 dead ☠️ bodies near where I was. All young girls, traveling alone, with new cars. Everything was stolen and bodies dumped just 50 yards off highway. Lol 😆
Now I am an old lady. Even though we have a .12 ga, an AR-15 (Son’s) an old colt 6- shooter an single shot .12 ga
And my son has a brand new .45 he won’t let me touch, yam not strong enough. .12 ga mine, probably dislocate my shoulder, lol. So I bought this Ruger at a gun show & decided it’s nice & light, great for me.
      Thanks so much.
Gonna subbed to you in case of future questions. Thanks So much.
      PEACE ✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️ God bless 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
