Welcome to the multitalented genius Ren. This masterpiece is just the tip of the iceberg. A powerful icing on the Ren-cake if you will 😅 He is a relatable voice for everyone dancing in the darkness as he eloquently, with all the authenticity of someone who is painfully familiar with it, lets us know that we are not alone and inspires us to keep dancing. And in doing so, Ren has literally saved lives with his art. I trust that other RENegades will fill you in on his backstory and probably recommend Sick Boi for insight into his frustrations from being misdiagnosed for years. I will just add a suggestion to check out one of my personal favourites: Crutch feat. Bibi. It’s an older song from before Ren was finally correctly diagnosed with Lyme disease and was written after a breakdown following multiple emergency trips to the hospital. It has been years since I’ve been this excited about an artist and he easily joins the ranks of some of the best musicians/bands of all time. I am completely in awe of Ren’s talent and range of skill and style. I usually avoid reaction videos but watching Ren reactions, it’s often like watching a blind man seeing the sun, the awe and emotions on reactors’ faces.
Ren went years misdiagnosed with Depression bi polar chronic fatigue syndrome he had a recording deal in 2010 why working on his album he got sick and couldn't finish it so they parted ways he move back to Wales he would become bedridden for up 23 hours a day the meds they had him on caused him to have psychosis he got PTSD too but not from the meds it would take years before he would get the right diagnosis he has Lyme disease he has had 2 stem cell transplants done he went so long misdiagnosed he has Brain damage Organ damage Joint damage he in Canada right now getting treatment he has to have IV 5 days a week they put this thing on his head that help open path ways in his brain he take hand full meds 2 times a day he also has ADHD too this was live and one take they had 3 camera set up to get this one take ren play guitar bass drum piano produces his own music mixes his own beats beatboxes sings and can rap he can do any Gener of music
Ren is amazing! He does everything; sings, raps, plays multiple instruments, writes, produces his own beats. You never know what you're going to get when you listen to him. He's brilliant! His story is incredible too. I really enjoyed your reaction, and I'll definitely come back to watch more.
Ren is one of the most talented artists I have ever encountered. There is literally nothing he can't do. Definitely check out more. He has quite the story. Mis-diagnosed with Lyme disease for many years and now dealing with chronic conditions as a result. He has so much amazing music to discover! Eddie, glad to see you back to music reactions. I stayed subscribed hoping you would come back and kept watching your movie reactions. Ren is an amazing person, cares about individuals, humanity and the world. I see someone suggested watching his 1M subscribers speech which I think does a lot to illustrate who Ren actually is. Even if you don't react, check it out for your own understanding. A little about Ren - he got sick in late teens, and was diagnosed with mental health issues. After years (13), of pain, and misdiagnosis, he was finally diagnosed with Lyme disease. This disease is often fully curable by early treatment but if left untreated the bacteria that cause Lyme can attack many systems of your body, including the skin, heart, nerves, joints and even the brain. He is currently, and has been since Jan 2023, in Calgary getting treatment for Lyme disease damage. Also, in his late teens, his best friend committed suicide by jumping off a bridge, I think in Wales, while Ren was running to try to stop him. This event had a profound effect on Ren and he has some songs that talk about/allude to, his friend Joe. Ren is Welsh, but he actually lives in Brighton, England. He busked with his band, The Big Push. If you want to hear them, my suggestion is the "I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop" medley to start with. He also collaborates with other artists, my favourite are his collaborations with Chinchilla, a female artist he calls his musical sibling. Of those, my favourite is "How to Be Me". Ren is not tied to one genre. He considers his genre to be "Bardcore". One of his greatest pieces of art is "The Tale of Jenny & Screech" (Full). It is difficult to listen to this trilogy but unfortunately, it is true to life. I am a loyal Ren fan and I am happy to welcome you as you tunnel down the Ren rabbit hole.
What a great comment @darleendionne6403. Just wanted to let you know Ren got his diagnoses of Lyme Disease in December 2015, and his 1st stem cell transplant some months later. Of course he was still in pain and struggled a lot until recently. We all wish him to get to 100% ❤❤
I'm a musician as old as the hills--and Ren is the best, most relevant and timeless artist I've seen or heard since the 1960's. Anything you choose to listen to by him is 🌋!

Yay Eddie! You found Ren! When I saw you were posting again (missed your PTX reactions!), I was hoping you would come across Ren. My absolute favourite artist. I fell down the Ren rabbit hole a year ago, and I haven't looked back. Pick a genre, and Ren has most likely done it. He raps, Sings, plays guitar (acoustic, electric AND bass), plays the piano, writes all his own stuff (music and lyrics), beat boxes, produces and directs his own videos (with some help from his friends. Just... everything. And he's totally independent. You are going to LOVE him. Solo stuff, collaborative stuff, and stuff with his band 'The Big Push'. All fantastic! His entire catelogue is pure Gold. Money game part 1 ,2 and three being the best Chalk outlines, Fred again, sevin sins , sick boi…..oh man there are so many . He changes everything up each time it’s incredible . Tale of Jenny and screech including violets tale (full in sequential order for a major twist) Ren was misdiagnosed and treated for mental health issues while all the time it was Lymes disease. It destroyed important neural pathways . He got worse and worse until one day they figured out what was going on. He’s been coming to Canada for treatment for months at a time where he writes and produces his own stuff. Without a label and in most cases it’s one continuous shot live !! 🙂🇨🇦🍻

Oooh, you're in for a treat. Ren does so many different genres (haven't heard a country song yet but you never know!). His very latest is a gorgeous piano piece called Mackey, in tribute yo a friend who tragically dies.

When I look at this live performance, I see it as the intro and start of creativity up thru the yodel. It is then interrupted by doubt, and the proverbial curtains part, and we witness the internal conversation between the 2 sides. it culminates in doubt declaring it's existence is in everyone and is everywhere and an individual is helpless to prevent that. Then hope steps up and helps return Ren to be distant and still, and states his ever persistence and presence as well. "We are coin of two different sides." The creativity is then allowed to continue (back to the yodels). This time, however, both sides are present, as indicated by the set lights flashing (they were not in the first yodel). The poem at the end is part of the performance in every version I've heard of it. What I get most from that poem is the first line: "When I was 17 years old, I shouted out into an empty room, into a blank canvas, that I would defeat the forces of evil." I feel this shows how we do not start with the life experiences to understand the implications of creating balance within ourselves. We have naive expectations of black and white, good and bad, positive and negative. Meanwhile, we miss the importance of recognizing grayness. "We must not forget, that we are human beings." My final thoughts are that navigating through life is a balancing act of that coin of 2 different sides. The expectation of either extreme (such as total salvation or absolute corruption) are deceptive, in that there will be internal struggles in everyone's lives at some point in time. Growth, development, and teachings are tools to give the individual to create that balance, allowing movement forward, rather than any other direction.

Requesting Sick Boi. Kinda a continuation of Hi Ren. All the things he wished he said to all the doctors who told him his pain, fatigue, digestive and neurological issues were all in his head. Has Lyme disease since he was 19 and severe brain and immunity damage from non-treatment.

You mentioned "pretty enough" and "thin enough", an older song of his covering this is Dominoes. Hardly reacted to but like all of Ren's music, highly varied and interesting. But there are more overall awesome songs to cover.
I love Ren! He's genius. This song is the most genuine heartfelt song I've ever had the pleasure of hearing. My sister turned me onto him last year- she's 63, I'm 64. He's a pure treasure for all ages!

This kid is a musical genius! Restored my love of music! I have been obsessed with everything Ren for a year and a half! I just have trouble listening to anything else! Everything pales in comparison! Then there is also the fact that he is an incredible humanitarian, very humble and very respectful and thankful for his fans!!!
I used to do that all the time, but it caused my videos to get blocked. I tested it uploading one with and without going back 5 seconds. By going back each time I paused caused it to block when not going back didn't. So weird. So I stopped doing it. But I hear Ren is good at removing copyright issues, so I'll try and keep that in mind. Thanks.
Ren is a delight, and a genre unto himself. He does use religious imagery, but culturally, not evangelically. This piece is really in the realm of performance art. Done 4 full times in one take, he picked the best, and this is that one. And yes, he struggles with misdiagnosed Lyme disease that became a nightmare.
Love that I found Hi Ren reaction vids because I sit and watch all of them. This video & song together are brilliant. With his facial changes, vein in his neck and lights flickering when bad Ren is talking... genius showing the different sides. & towards the end when he hits some singing notes, damn, he can really sing too. "And I go by many names also, Some people know me as "hope" Some people know me as the voice that you hear, When you loosen the noose on the rope" Wife hung herself in 2020. That line hits me hard. She battled her own self. Maybe that is why I am drawn to this song/video so much.

Welcome to the Ren rabbit hole! I have yet to find a Ren song that I don't love! For story telling check out the Jenny & Screech trilogy. Hip hop genesis or hunger or what you want Money game 1,2,&3 Anything with Big Push. They have a lot of street footage from busking. His lives with Chinchilla are haunting and beautiful. His stuff with Sam Thompkins is incredible. I mean really pick one and be surprised because you NEVER know what to expect from Ren. Ren does everything from rock to hip hop to reggae to being a modern day Shakespearian bard with his story telling. I've said before Ren is capable of breaking you and fixing you in one song and has some deep messaging in his music. Enjoy the ride this should be fun to watch!

I am sure there will be people telling you all about how he struggled with years of undiagnosed/misdiagnosed Lyme's disease and its consequences. Musically, you can't really go wrong with Ren, depending on your tastes. He does Reggae, Rap, Folk, Rock, Metal, Musical Theatre, covers, busking, funny, dramatic, introspective, social commentary.. solo, in duets, with a band... and he does it all extremely well. other titles that are worth checking out? As a Renegade I Love seeing people experience Ren for the first time. Enjoyed your reaction and subbed for more Ren. When asked what genre Ren's music is the only answer I can give is "Yes". As far as his backstory, Ren suffered severe health problems that were misdiagnosed as mental health issues such as bipolar disorder psychosis & chronic fatigue syndrome for many years. When in fact he was suffering from the effects of Lyme's disease. He has been undergoing constant treatment since the correct diagnosis. There is a ton more to his story which he is very open about and I recommend reading more about him. Let us know what genre you want to hear and we can recommend a Ren song for you. His talent seems limitless and he supports reactors. Cool really enjoyed your reaction to Rens masterpiece He has over two hundred songs so lots to choose from practically every genre. So pick whatever you like although you will get lots of suggestions. Discovering ren music is quite an adventure I discovered over a year ago. Ren has suffered from 14 years of physical sickness leading also to psychological issues. Misdiagnosed for 7 which increased the pain and damage. Unable to make music and housebound for years. Ren had Lyme disease from a tick bite He is a gifted musician and wordsmith as well as being a lovely human
Ren is beyond talented, welcome aboard the rollercoaster. Do look into his background and life a bit though, he's got a very complex and pretty difficult back-story that shines throughout his music.

It has been years since I’ve been this excited about an artist and he easily joins the ranks of some of the best musicians/bands of all time.
I am completely in awe of Ren’s talent and range of skill and style.
I usually avoid reaction videos but watching Ren reactions, it’s often like watching a blind man seeing the sun, the awe and emotions on reactors’ faces.
Ren went years misdiagnosed with Depression bi polar chronic fatigue syndrome he had a recording deal in 2010 why working on his album he got sick and couldn't finish it so they parted ways he move back to Wales he would become bedridden for up 23 hours a day the meds they had him on caused him to have psychosis he got PTSD too but not from the meds it would take years before he would get the right diagnosis he has Lyme disease he has had 2 stem cell transplants done he went so long misdiagnosed he has Brain damage Organ damage Joint damage he in Canada right now getting treatment he has to have IV 5 days a week they put this thing on his head that help open path ways in his brain he take hand full meds 2 times a day he also has ADHD too this was live and one take they had 3 camera set up to get this one take ren play guitar bass drum piano produces his own music mixes his own beats beatboxes sings and can rap he can do any Gener of music
Ren is amazing! He does everything; sings, raps, plays multiple instruments, writes, produces his own beats. You never know what you're going to get when you listen to him. He's brilliant! His story is incredible too. I really enjoyed your reaction, and I'll definitely come back to watch more.
Ren is one of the most talented artists I have ever encountered. There is literally nothing he can't do. Definitely check out more. He has quite the story. Mis-diagnosed with Lyme disease for many years and now dealing with chronic conditions as a result. He has so much amazing music to discover! Eddie, glad to see you back to music reactions. I stayed subscribed hoping you would come back and kept watching your movie reactions. Ren is an amazing person, cares about individuals, humanity and the world. I see someone suggested watching his 1M subscribers speech which I think does a lot to illustrate who Ren actually is. Even if you don't react, check it out for your own understanding.
A little about Ren - he got sick in late teens, and was diagnosed with mental health issues. After years (13), of pain, and misdiagnosis, he was finally diagnosed with Lyme disease. This disease is often fully curable by early treatment but if left untreated the bacteria that cause Lyme can attack many systems of your body, including the skin, heart, nerves, joints and even the brain. He is currently, and has been since Jan 2023, in Calgary getting treatment for Lyme disease damage.
Also, in his late teens, his best friend committed suicide by jumping off a bridge, I think in Wales, while Ren was running to try to stop him. This event had a profound effect on Ren and he has some songs that talk about/allude to, his friend Joe.
Ren is Welsh, but he actually lives in Brighton, England. He busked with his band, The Big Push. If you want to hear them, my suggestion is the "I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop" medley to start with. He also collaborates with other artists, my favourite are his collaborations with Chinchilla, a female artist he calls his musical sibling. Of those, my favourite is "How to Be Me".
Ren is not tied to one genre. He considers his genre to be "Bardcore". One of his greatest pieces of art is "The Tale of Jenny & Screech" (Full). It is difficult to listen to this trilogy but unfortunately, it is true to life.
I am a loyal Ren fan and I am happy to welcome you as you tunnel down the Ren rabbit hole.
What a great comment @darleendionne6403. Just wanted to let you know Ren got his diagnoses of Lyme Disease in December 2015, and his 1st stem cell transplant some months later. Of course he was still in pain and struggled a lot until recently. We all wish him to get to 100% ❤❤

Yay Eddie! You found Ren! When I saw you were posting again (missed your PTX reactions!), I was hoping you would come across Ren. My absolute favourite artist. I fell down the Ren rabbit hole a year ago, and I haven't looked back. Pick a genre, and Ren has most likely done it. He raps, Sings, plays guitar (acoustic, electric AND bass), plays the piano, writes all his own stuff (music and lyrics), beat boxes, produces and directs his own videos (with some help from his friends. Just... everything. And he's totally independent.
You are going to LOVE him. Solo stuff, collaborative stuff, and stuff with his band 'The Big Push'. All fantastic! I am SO here to follow the journey with you! Welcome back ❤

Ren was misdiagnosed and treated for mental health issues while all the time it was Lymes disease. It destroyed important neural pathways . He got worse and worse until one day they figured out what was going on. He’s been coming to Canada for treatment for months at a time where he writes and produces his own stuff. Without a label and in most cases it’s one continuous shot live !!

When I look at this live performance, I see it as the intro and start of creativity up thru the yodel. It is then interrupted by doubt, and the proverbial curtains part, and we witness the internal conversation between the 2 sides. it culminates in doubt declaring it's existence is in everyone and is everywhere and an individual is helpless to prevent that. Then hope steps up and helps return Ren to be distant and still, and states his ever persistence and presence as well. "We are coin of two different sides." The creativity is then allowed to continue (back to the yodels). This time, however, both sides are present, as indicated by the set lights flashing (they were not in the first yodel). The poem at the end is part of the performance in every version I've heard of it.
What I get most from that poem is the first line: "When I was 17 years old, I shouted out into an empty room, into a blank canvas, that I would defeat the forces of evil." I feel this shows how we do not start with the life experiences to understand the implications of creating balance within ourselves. We have naive expectations of black and white, good and bad, positive and negative. Meanwhile, we miss the importance of recognizing grayness. "We must not forget, that we are human beings."
My final thoughts are that navigating through life is a balancing act of that coin of 2 different sides. The expectation of either extreme (such as total salvation or absolute corruption) are deceptive, in that there will be internal struggles in everyone's lives at some point in time. Growth, development, and teachings are tools to give the individual to create that balance, allowing movement forward, rather than any other direction.
Finally Ren!!!! So many choices for Ren. Tales of Jenny and Screech(full) It's a long one. For his hip hop Genesis is my favorite

Requesting Sick Boi. Kinda a continuation of Hi Ren. All the things he wished he said to all the doctors who told him his pain, fatigue, digestive and neurological issues were all in his head. Has Lyme disease since he was 19 and severe brain and immunity damage from non-treatment.

just a tip, especially for serious Ren songs, go back 2 or 3 seconds when you pause to keep the flow and the context
I used to do that all the time, but it caused my videos to get blocked. I tested it uploading one with and without going back 5 seconds. By going back each time I paused caused it to block when not going back didn't. So weird. So I stopped doing it. But I hear Ren is good at removing copyright issues, so I'll try and keep that in mind. Thanks.
Ren is a delight, and a genre unto himself. He does use religious imagery, but culturally, not evangelically. This piece is really in the realm of performance art. Done 4 full times in one take, he picked the best, and this is that one.
And yes, he struggles with misdiagnosed Lyme disease that became a nightmare.

Love that I found Hi Ren reaction vids because I sit and watch all of them. This video & song together are brilliant. With his facial changes, vein in his neck and lights flickering when bad Ren is talking... genius showing the different sides. & towards the end when he hits some singing notes, damn, he can really sing too.

As a Renegade I Love seeing people experience Ren for the first time. Enjoyed your reaction and subbed for more Ren. When asked what genre Ren's music is the only answer I can give is "Yes".
As far as his backstory, Ren suffered severe health problems that were misdiagnosed as mental health issues such as bipolar disorder psychosis & chronic fatigue syndrome for many years. When in fact he was suffering from the effects of Lyme's disease. He has been undergoing constant treatment since the correct diagnosis. There is a ton more to his story which he is very open about and I recommend reading more about him.
Let us know what genre you want to hear and we can recommend a Ren song for you.

Ren has suffered from 14 years of physical sickness leading also to psychological issues.
Misdiagnosed for 7 which increased the pain and damage. Unable to make music and housebound for years.
