About 3 years ago I stopped paying for cable. What I did was purchased a converter box, an outside antenna, and a power amplifier 36 db. All for $165.00. It was the best thing I ever did in saving money. I get 68 channels including local channels, that I was paying $220.00 a month for. I did the work myself, but I would get a professional antenna man, to set it up for you. These cable companies are getting out of hand with their high cost for service. Please do what I did, you won't be disappointment, and you'll save yourself a lot of money.

I did it but it is limited and not like having cable though.
Hit with a real antenna that is up high and large you get best possible signals to reach and bring in you your tv or cable box. But to get them in strong you need the antenna amplifier he tells you about . You get the antenna on your roof and then run your coaxial cable from the antenna into the house to the amplifier input that you have plugged into a power outlet to power it and then take another cable from that amplifier ls output to go into your tv and set it up in the settings for air signal to be used.
That’s it.
I just gave a little detail to what he said to do.
He didn’t leave anything out to it get how to do it.
If you do not understand these things i only gave some understanding to it. It’s the same old technology that we all used before cable tv was ever invented. It’s not new. You used to be able to go to radio shar and get all the gear for this. But they are a phone and toy store now.
Hit you can get it all online all day long.
The older tvs needs a box but if your newer tv has a cable antenna input they have the capability bro receive all possible digital airwave channels your set up can capture and receive. After you get it all hooked up you go to tv settings and choose not cable but airwaves or antenna option and then it lets you let the tv scan all channels and it finds the ones it can receive and that takes a little bit of time for it to run through that process.
Then you go through it and select the ones channels that come in good and strong because not all will be good enough to use. If one you want doesn’t come in perfect you can try changing the antenna direction to aim it more towards that direction to that broadcast location to get it in better. But at will then change the quality of signal for other channels that came in more clear but now do not.
If this is a Orono then you want to get a powered motor to mount your antenna with that has a control box in the house that you can turn to make your antenna turn as you change its direction that way and fine tune the antenna at will for any Chanel your wanting to watch. This takes more money and more wore running to connect the controller box for the antenna motor to change direction if it from the comfort of your living room.
If you didn’t understand what this man said here then you need to get a man antenna installer guy to do it all for you .
That why he said that he suggested that you all get a pro to do it .
It’s beyond your knowledge to do in some aspects and then in other aspects it may be beyond your mechanical abilities.
This worked beautifully at first, but after 6 months my neighbor got annoyed and started requesting that I split their cable bill. (Consequently they got fed up with me raiding their fridge, and they really didn't like me lounging in my underwear either.) Well that was fun while it lasted. The restraining order should expire soon. I guess I could try another neighbor in the meantime. 😂

I was sent out to a customer that had was paying for the highest bandwidth. I found out he was selling net to 4 neighbors! I was impressed!! I fixed his internet and didn't say a word!!

If you hoot up the center conductor of the coax cable to your house ground you'll get like 70 off air channels and then do a channel search on your TV.
you can hook it up to a potatoe or pumpkin & get that of you live in the city.

There's actual a way to watch free cable. You need a modulator and something that connects online like PC. Figure out how to make your own IPTV channels. Rig the pc to your modulator. The modulator connects to your TV. Your pc is the cable box with the iptv running on it. Going thru your modulator, showing it on the TV. So to save on Internet usage. Watch local channels with only the antenna. For all the premium channels. Turn your TV on that special channel you made with your modulator and watch IPTV from the PC.

There's a video that talks about using a syringe with steelwool inside and super glued down than the needle into the coaxer connector with the connector on top of the needle. Cut needle to size of connecter. Then screw into back of TV voaxile connecter

Once you have all the equipment as mentioned, their is another way too. Just in case their isn't a neighbor close by. First plug the Coaxle into the In jack on the convertor box and the other end to the TV. Then plug the other cable into the out jack on the box, and the other end plug that into ur asshole, then go stand next to a window. Let me know how that works out for ya!

So your just making a quick make shift antenna? There is an easier way to do this and all it involves is a board, a pencil, some nails or wood screws, some solid or braided copper wiring such as standard home electrical wiring, and 1 30 ohm resistor... The reason being that you need an antenna that can pick up VHF and UHF frequencies and the old bare end cable trick only picks up VHF.

Iam an 87 year old retired person with a very limited income. I went to the thrift store and paid 7.99 for converter box and 2.99 x 2 for the cables and 2.78 for the clamp. I also accidentally poked a hole in my landlords window screen. All totalled about 35.00 cuz I thought maybe there was a way for me to finally get cable again. I haven't had cable since my wife passed in 2008. I guess an old guy like me should have known better. I guess it's a top ramen month. What was the point of the video.

There IS a free system it's called 'free air' You buy the box (bout $250 last I checked years back) and you need a dish 30 inches or better and the motor unit (another $250) that rotates the dish. note it's free to own and use this equipment but NOT to 'receive' any unauthorized signals. there are what 29 satellites in the northern hemisphere so you CAN get a whole lot of channels that are legal to watch. the drawback I saw with the unit was it took about 5 minutes from boot up for it to find a satellite then if you switch satellites that took a few more minutes for the system to find and lock on in place. but once you have a signal you can watch everything on it

Back when I was kid, I hang antenna cable on the wall to pick cable tv signal. I dont know how it worked but maybe the cable to neighbors cable tv went behind the wall and I was able to pick the signal, but it worked so maybe in the area where he lives he picks some kind of cable TV signal from neighbors.. It wasnt the cleanest signal I had on this setup but it worked and I picked all channels for free.

You really had got me on that one, but I can’t say one thing there is this thing called the Piers OCTO antenna I’m not gonna see you get all the cable channels, but we do get free HBO and Cinemax, and all our local channels
He's just using a window screen for an antenna to pick up regular broadcast digital TV. For $10 you can skip clipping a cable to your window screen and get a proper antenna. The cable companies don't care if you get broadcast TV, but with the current digital TV if you live more than 25 miles from the antenna you're probably not going to like it. for about $50 you can get a Roku Stick and get free streaming TV if you have WiFi.
I have Sling TV and I really like it. Basic is $40.

I still have, and miss the allure of the HBO, Encore, Cinemax,, Showtime and Starz analog coaxial couplers the cable companies used to have. Too bad they're worthless now.
Not really cable anymore it's either satellite or the new fiber optic cable not the old school copper coaxial that was once the industry standard. No more cable splicing, splitting it up, etc

Thats Basically called "Signal Enjecting" and although possiable it may not be usable or "Channel mappable", as the chanel defalts will very from provider to provider, see if you Enject into the 180mhz carrier frequency of a provider the channels coming from another carrier if not the same channel would end up looking as if 2 channels in one (a Ghosting effect would result) unless the channel was empty on the signal being enjected to, else a already populated channel would result in a "Garbaled channel" you would have to have A way to remap and realocate channels into unused spots, or be able to block a broadcasted channel as so to take its spot with an enjected one... You would be better of with a TV TUNER CARD (or 2) that can connect to more than one source (Hauppauge used to make a Cable plus Sat dual imput TV Tuner Card that alloud both a Dish signal and a Cable company land signal to be viewed using the one TV Card, this may be a better option than Signal Enjection...
Seems I can’t do this because I have only fiber optics here in Oklahoma. Where I live people used satellite dishes only. Now they put fiber optics to our lines but never had cable here ever. We are the poor in the boonies.
I was trying to find how to use Roku with the cell phone service and found your video.
I had cable tv (basic package!) that became really expensive. It was crazy. - $215 monthly! including internet service! I looked into alternatives and choose Sling TV which I really like. You have to work more to operate it but it's worth it. Basic is $40 a month and I pay $55 a month because I got 2 add ons. You need to have internet service and you can check to see if it's available in your area - they tell you how to do it.

Back before everything went Digital at the cable companies. I was a paying cable customer. And one day my next doo😢neighbor hooked up his cable to mine in behind my house and I lost Signal. And I called the cable company and they came out and they seen my neighbors had there cable cut off. And they were getting free tv off of my cable. I was so mad because of that. After everything went Digital people can’t steel cable from there neibors like they used too. I was so happy when they fixed it where everyone had to have a box from comecast to get tv. They took care of people getting other people cable.
I bet this method wouldn't even get you free service for the rest of your life. It depends on how friendly you and your neighbors are and who's moving in or out when, etc. But now do the satellite version!
