@@Mjolnir1011 I’m on disability (aka sick), so I watch a lot of sports to get me through. Don’t be so presumptuous and let others be. We all have different situations.
I spent about that in one month for TV. I bought a OTA Antennae and now enjoy around 30 stations for FREE. So screw the big networks and the price gouging they do.
Nope. Had YTTV for 14 months. Wife very frustrated that History channel missing. Just installed an 80 mile range Digital antenna in my attic. 53 clear local channels. Switched to Sling Blue with an AirTV 2 to integrate the antenna channels into the Sling guide. So far its great and wife is happy. ROI is about a year.
I switched to You Tube tv several months ago and am pleased with the service. I am not a sports fan but it’s nice to have it in case I see a game that looks interesting. I love the dvd option. One reason I left cable.
One of the problems I have had with these services over cable is the inability to quickly jump to stations because there are no "channel numbers" assigned. On cable, you can quickly jump from channel 124 to channel 26 with a few remote clicks.
Unless you are a sports fan or a cable news fan I don't see the point of paying for live TV. The entertainment channels show syndicated content most of the time.
I have my own plex server with all the movies i'd ever need in a way higher bitrate than what these live streaming services have to offer. I wish someone had a live tv plan that just had the channels to watch nfl games on. That's all i use these live tv services for anyways.
Since OTA went digital, it's been very difficult for me to pick up channels... even when I was living in Houston and tried multiple antennas. I could pick up barely a few, but not all. That's all I want is local stations and no matter which service I would go to, it's a $22+ add-on. For local OTA free channels!
I'm a sports fan but can't justify paying more than $50 a month. It was fine when the cost was $35-40. Even sports are on various streaming apps too. And the big events are typically on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox so just get a digital antenna for that. I would pay a small amount if these companies would offer AL la carte. I literally just want espn, FS1, tbs, and tnt. To your point, we can get more shows and movies than ever through 2 or 3 streaming apps
There's no contracts for Amazon Netflix Paramount plus HBO there's no equipment for that neither television and Internet connection do you have to have for RUclips which I guess you could just watch it on your phone you can watch all that all the shit I said on your phone too
I can’t understand why people pay a premium for live TV and tolerate all those commercials. I remember when we first got cable TV in the early 1980’s. The entire premise was to have more content, better quality signal of broadcast channels, and avoid commercials. People were pissed when HBO scrambled their picture around 1984/1985. Yet to this day, people continue to pay for these services regardless.
I dropped spectrum tv and got yttv and saved $100 per month. Spectrum said they had their own cloud dvr svc and would match yttv price but that only made me more furious that i had been renting dvr boxes for no reason. I mainly got yttv to watch espn and Fox news. I mostly watch freevee and pluto. I plugged in my giant YAGI roof antenna from 1993 into the spectrum splitter and scanned 79 channels lol. Remember that local channels broadcast in 4K for FREE. Just use your antenna.
I have RUclips TV till the end of August 2023. There are a few channels I like, but there are way too many sports, old reruns stations, news, and Spanish-speaking stations(which there should be none). The plan is to use Plex. I might buy the antenna to get local stations. I have had RUclips TV for a very long time, and I will admit I do not like having to learn a new way of viewing things I like to watch, but it is the cost that is making me change. With the other stations I pay for, RUclips TV is not worth it just for Local stations. If the average person is paying over $100 a month just for TV, that is just insane anymore. You would think with all the competition, prices would be lower, but not anymore. Maybe RUclips TV will smarten up and let people pick the stations they want to view, but that would mean they have to get into a lot more contracts with stations and the cost will go up. I am moving on.
Very Good Updated Review...I cut the Cord with RUclips TV approx 6 months ago, combining it with FRNDLY TV, & I'm satisfied...I just wish RUclips TV's DVR operated like FRNDLY TV's DVR which allows you to remove already seen Episodes from your Library....
Absolutely worth it! They are constantly improving and adding features and channels. Their is a real value for my family. My kids watch at college. It travels too.
I'm a truck Driver using my sister's yttv but when I leave to go on the road it won't play somethings because it ask for location how do you get around that when my sister I Georgia an I'm everywhere
I cut the cord back in 2018 and went with RUclips TV and have been happy with it. I’m on the fence on whether I’ll keep it, but I like the sports and news programs.
I think it's worth it. However, it is not as sports oriented as you intimate. I am used to baseball, Football, Hockey, Basketball and am getting into Soccer. Most of them are on their own separate streaming channels.
We signed up for RUclips over Direct, we have a vacation home in another country. I can sign into either. Direct was in the US only. I just need to figure out how to get my local stations when out of the country.
Michael this was an excellent 101 video on UT TV. One reason we have kept it is because it offers our local PBS station where most other streaming services don't. Thanks
Very true. I hear this a lot! PBS and PBS KIDS are coming to the free Local Now app this year. Hasn't rolled out where I live, but we do get a free live stream from the PBS app.
I switched to RUclipsTV a few months ago and love it! Thanks to you Michael I have learned to navigate the interface and after just a short time felt very comfortable with it. I was not happy to learn of the price increase but for what they provide and what my needs are it is still better than cable. Hopefully the new price will hold for at least a couple years.
Here's the deal. The average cable subscriber in this country pays between $150 to $250 including premium channels and some sports packages. Right now the choice seems to be between RUclips, TV, Hulu, and maybe another contender. But to be able to watch the majority of your live TV for less than 100 bucks is still ideal. At this point. I think RUclips can maximize their engagement with subscribers if they allow more customization to channel mix and sports packages
Not exactly and the reason is that it usually includes Internet Service! If you take the $73 + $49 for reasonably fast Internet you are already at $$123 plus Tax, yes it’s still cheaper but barely. In my case I pay $200 for uverse and includes Fiber Internet 1000 but I also get HBO max (included and Apple TV+), if I do the math for us Uverse is actually a much better deal!
@@HsquaredH2 but regardless if you had tv or not chances are you'd have internet access anyways. Heck I know a lot of folks that use the broken fire stick to bootleg their TV options. Is what it is.
@@lzh3131 so far this year RUclips TV is the only streaming tv platform to add subscribers overall. All others have either broke even or declined in subscriptions. Tremendous opportunity for RUclips to make a product that no one else can compete with. They just have to stay under 100 for their main package 🙏
No, Cable is about the same price and more channels. The advantage of a streaming service is no contract and the ability to cancel, change, add anytime. Keep in mind these streaming services don’t factor in internet. Internet is 50-80 bucks.
You were part of our decision to cut the cord and go with RUclipsTV. Your videos were very informative and I watched several of them when I was trying to decide to switch over and then after I did, to help me setup my channels and understand how it worked.
When I saw you Video Pic saying 72.- I thought that price meant a YEAR!..... not a month!!! ........so WOW that's totally crazy and extra insane.... Oh hell NO!!! I would not even pay that a year.... I have been without any type cable TV or streaming of any kind for over 18 years now and don't miss it at all...there is plenty of free entertainment everywhere... what happened to just reading a book? .... Also I got a new TV a view months ago that has build in ROKU in it, so that's plenty of stuff to watch for me and since I have a huge DVD/Blue-ray collection i have zero need for any of that...
I am paying 180.00 for uverse on their second to lowest plan and the cost keeps rising every year for the same shit service. Yttv looks way better for the price. I am also paying 60 for high speed internet from att. Then 220 for wireless. Two phones. That's over 400 straight to att and for what?
You missed two nifty DVR features. 1. The DVR is channel agnostic. If you record a series that is in reruns, it will record all broadcasts from all channels with a single setting. (We are catching up on Blue Bloods and it has recorded live shows on the network and now is getting old shows that recently started broadcasting on ION.) 2. RUclips can change the recording start and end *after* the show has finished recording. Recently American Idol's broadcast after the Oscar's didn't match the protected start and end time. I found an option for reporting incorrect start time and incorrect end time for the recording. It was fixed by the next morning so that the recording matched the broadcast. Pretty cool.
My husband watches tons of sports as well as lots of the other channels on YTTV. We are happy with YTTV and know that the increased price still beats what DISH was charging.
I have dish and they dropped CBS which shows 2 NFL games on Sundays. I just called dish to consider cancelling for that reason with football coming up. Can you give me some more selling points for YTTV? I don't have bigten network on dish either. They suggested I upgrade to 200 pk but I see still no CBS but offer SEC ACCN and NFL. I tried NFL, they show only local game IF sold out otherwise I don't get to see Ohio teams. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks
@@wondery6693 I was just reading thru this 4-something month old RUclips TV thread that MichaelSaves posted. I had to laugh b'cas I have RUclips TV, but didn't realize I even had B10 Sports until you mentioned it... 😆 Yep, there it was, right with all the other sports channels. I love RUclips tv, but sure wish there was a way to add channel #'s..
@@wondery6693 You will get more bang for your buck. The way I see it there is something for everyone in your household on YTTV. And think about it if you have a plugged toilet and I mean seriously plugged search for a video on how to fix it. That alone is makes it worth it to me because calling a plumber cost's a hell of a lot more than $73 per month. I am also learning woodworking skills that will only benefit me by saving money making end tables, coffee tables and almost anything else you want and the cost is just for lumber. Look past the monthly charge when it saves you money in other areas of your life. Good luck!
The biggest problem with RUclipsTV for seniors is the Font Size and Color, especially on the Live Guide. A light gray font on a dark gray background is very difficult for many seniors. Why not a WHITE font on BLACK background or the reverse? And why not be able to increase font size and reduce the time period on the Live Guide? RUclipsTV needs to consider the visibility of text for vision impaired individuals.
Several years ago, web designers had an international conference where they tried to make guidelines to help people who have trouble with extreme contrast text such as absolute black over absolute white. They even defined the exact technical specifications. Management sociopaths only heard make it all gray over gray, IMHO, the geeks said, "Ok fine." and made many pages ludicrous as an inside joke. Of course, I feel that way about many online systems, to the point, I routinely joke, "The geeks are laughing." As I work with some computer geeks, this rings true for me. On HTML pages, I often hit CTRL with A to select "ALL" so the highlighting gives better text contrast.
One thing that makes RUclipsTV better than the others is portability. I live across two locations, and my kids have their personal accounts. In my view, it is the best service if you want to be in multiple locations and if you have viewers in multiple locations. The other services have much stricter rules. Tablo has been a fantastic addition for me because now I have my own local stations whereever I go with full DVR recording capability. Tablo was my first step in potentially cancelling a live TV service. Tablo has given me live TV in my second location where antenna based TV is impossible. One real benefit of Tablo with RUclipsTV is the sports because now I can often times get two local sets of sporting events.
I thought this would benefit my family... but since we travel for work and two in college, we constantly get kicked off.. 6 accounts with 3 watchers is pretty tough
Your videos got me hooked on you tube tv last September when we moved to N. Georgia. Lack of cable companies made me look into cable cutting. Thanks to you I am thrilled with you tube tv and the money saved over traditional cable companies. Especially Xfinity.
Great video Michael! Very informative and planning to cut the cable cord, With current RUclips TV vs. Directv I'm saving more than $100 a month. Hate the equipment charges, regional sports fees, and other hidden fees. You're the best!
One thing I especially like about RUclips TV is that when scrolling through the channels you can hover over them to see what's playing in real time, and use this to select channels while avoiding commercials.
I planned to only pay for RUclips TV during football season but then I added my boomer parents and they like it as a DD, especially unlimited DVR. It's a good example of legit family sharing. Right now, neither of us see full value individually but together we are choosing to pay.
I'm dropping YT TV because I try to share it with my Dad but it doesn't work when he goes to AZ for winter. They claim you can travel for three months, but they lie and there's zero customer service.
I like RUclips TV, my only complaint is when watching a life broadcast sometimes when I rewind the service buffers and I have to get out or even restart my tv.
I tested RUclips TV for about a week a few years ago and got an Amazon gift card for it. They had me do a video showing how it worked. There were no technical issues but I spent the whole video saying there was no content on it I would actually watch, much less pay for.
I just cancelled my RUclips TV over a week ago and a friend told me a few days later that the price was going up. I did not think that $65 was worth it. We only watch for local news in the mornings and some family programs in the afternoon...no sports. I put up an antenna over the weekend for news and plan to use it along with basic Netflix plan, Prime TV and some other free apps. TV has gotten too expensive and is not worth the cost.
The CEO of Google made over 200 million in compensation last year. Prices went up to 72 per month due to economic conditions? BS!! How about streaming back your 200 million compensation and operating cost to help ride people through this terrible economy. Rip-off!!
@@voltrono4166yeah and that's why I got rid of spectrum in the first place. Now they're going to jack up streaming TV. Had enough of this crap I Don't watch it anyway
Yes. It'll have to go up $100 before it approaches what Cable would charge per month for a similar package with less features and more fees tacked on top of it.
My tv part of the cable bill is $150. I would stick to cheaper alternatives but I'm taking care of my geriatric mom and yttv is the only one with all her channels.
I'm sorry but I'm with xfinity for life. I have an x1 cable box, over 1,000 channels. An over the air antenna hardly gets me anything in my area and none of the streaming live tv services get me nearly enough of what I want to watch. Xfinity has all of my classic tv reruns on various channels, plus local channels and more. Yes it's more expensive but well worth it for me. I tried a few of the live tv streaming apps you mentioned but I always wind up going back to traditional cable. To each their own, I suppose.
I know this is a year later, but I have to say that I once felt the same way about Xfinity.. Not any more though! Why? After the expected January increases, they upped my charges by $63.00 in the middle of April. When I queried the increase, I was steered to what was supposed to be a more affordable plan. That plan was actually $12.00 more than the one I was complaining about. I hate to be taken for a fool. Clearly, the associate with whom I was negotiating was seeing to the most profitable commission for herself. I am busily reviewing other options.
I believe it is worth it generally, because you don’t have to worry about those surprising price hikes that cable tv might bill you out of the blue, also YTTV has a pretty good channel package compared to your general base cable channel package
Would like to MLB Network back on RUclips TV. I would like to get my local regional sports like Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Guardians, Cleveland Cavaliers, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Columbus Crew games.
I was factoring in these costs too.. by the time you pay for a high-speed internet connection, a service like RUclips TV, plus another service like hbo max you paid for cable ; but I still cut the cord anyway. I expect it will to go up in the coming months, years
Unfortunately not everyone lives in a area with OTA antennas work. We can get 2 of the major broadcast channels due to the mountains, trees and elevation. And this is in a community of over 100K residents in the city alone and another 50K in the county. For many of us cable or satellite are the only options. Not even streaming is an option for those of us outside of the city limits because the companies with the monopoly won't pay to install it where people have 5-10 acre homes.
I just got a smart TV and found You Tube TV. Since we mainly use the TV for sports and local channels, and we live in an area where an antenna is ineffective, I think it will be a good option for us. I'm going to drop Directv. Thanks for the informative video.
Yes Michael that’s the same thing I’m doing now I’m with Sling TV during the off-season of football. I’m still able to pick up my local channels with an antenna and watch some NBA games and then once football season start I’ll switch back over to RUclips TV saves me a lot of money!
The jury is still out… We haven’t had it that long.. I don’t however feel like we watch enough to justify the price increase..I doubt we would pick up another live service…
I have been debating that the last few days. Still seems a little pricey in light of the fact that they have lost a number of channels over the years. The upcharge for 4K is a little ridiculous in my opinion.
I'm currently a directv user. Now that RUclips took over the Sunday ticket, I'll probably switch. I could get RUclips TV and all the add ons and it'd still be cheaper than what I pay for directv every month.
No! Cable here in my town runs $69 a month. But why pay for TV when it free? I installed an antenna an now get 27 channels...FREE. 4 networks, 3 PBS and other channels like METV and Retro. No youtube or cable for me.
RUclips TV is an ideal backup if you have trouble picking up local TV stations from your antenna, especially if your house has an outdoor antenna that is affected by inclement weather
It is not cheaper though, because you need internet also. Cable providers have bundles cost, that is the same price, or cheaper, and a lot more channels. The advantage of this is no contract.
FYI, Just know if you buy the Sunday NFL Ticket from RUclips and you have a base plan or higher, you can not cancel YT TV because there are no refunds on the Sunday Ticket. So you are basically locked in!
You didn’t mention my #1 reason for switching to RUclipsTV…portability. I tried sling and hulu previously and you couldn’t use them while traveling because of the local restrictions (sling since dropped). Hulu, you could change your location but only a few times per year, maybe that’s changed. Anyway, we have a second property 30 miles away but in a different market, and we can use a single RUclipsTV subscription to cover both. As long as we check in at “home” regularly. Oh, and Sunday Ticket. No brainer.
In the long run, you will find yourself paying about the same as your cable provider as by dropping video service your ISP will usually almost double. I recently went back to my cable provider as I am now saving $35 by bundling services. I can see (after talking to family and friends) that most cable providers such as Cox & Comcast are catching on and trying to compete directly with 3rd party live broadcasters..
ATT Fiber is so cheap now you can still save. 300M is $35-$55/mth depending if you have ATT wireless (personal) + $72 YT, Im still saving close to $60/mth
I really liked youtube TV when it $50, they added more sports and raised the price, so I canceled. I wish they had a non-sports plan for less. TY for the info
Thanks Michael for this video, it's definitely helpful as I'm trying to determine which streaming service is the best choice for us. We've been with Comcast Xfinity for cable tv for a number of years, too long!, and although the channel lineup and dvr features and the guide interface is pretty good, the costs are just way way too high now. I agree with some people commenting that perhaps $73 is a bit high, but from what I've seen on YTTV's website for the channel lineup, I think it would give us most of the channels we enjoy now with Comcast. There are a few missing, but still I see more with YTTV than with Hulu. I had understood from another review about the same dvr recording issue you mentioned, so that would probably be one reason why we wouldn't choose YTTV... But I still don't know enough about all of Hulu's services, so I'm still researching about them too. I'm definitely going to check out SlingTV now that you've mentioned about it. I knew about SlingTV but hadn't yet checked out their website, so I will now. Although I see they only offer 50 hrs dvr recording.. And how can I find out more about exactly how their dvr features are and how their on screen interface is..? Since we do watch a lot of live local programming like all the local news stations as well as a number of other channels that are available over-the-air, like ION, the CW, the cbs weather channel, and others, I would connect an antenna to our tv. So thanks for showing what you use, I definitely would want to get a strong antenna to be able to receive as many ota channels as possible. Well, thanks again for your video review, it definitely helps as I continue to research which streaming service we will go with. And I do plan to get a good Roku device w/remote since our main tv, even though it's fairly big in size, it isn't a "smart tv". So thanks for the screen shot of the Roku device!
For Sling TV, I do have older reviews. But the great thing is you can download the app and use Sling Freestream. That has the same interface. So you can test the look and feel without paying. Sling TV’s DVR is very much like a traditional DVR. You can record and delete single episodes. I also have a recent video that summarizes the pros and cons of the major live TV services. Another one worth checking out.
My question is, how many more price increase would they do in the near future? Based on the history here mentioned, there is a great chance they will continue the same trend.
I switched back to RUclips tv. after giving Hulu and sling tv a trial run RUclips tv is better than both a little more expensive but better features and channel selection.
Five years ago cutting cable was the leading edge for people looking to save money. Now cutting out live TV is the trend. The problem is there's still a lot of money in the cable/cable 2.0 (stealing your term Michael) bundle. Media companies are going to continue to squeeze as much as they can out of this until streaming becomes profitable. It's going to be fun to see how this shakes out!
@@MichaelSaves until people like my parents die☹️ until somebody figures out how to distribute sports reliably to restaurants and bars. It’s going to be interesting with Sunday Ticket on YT this season. Keep in mind the newspaper is still around as a shell of its former glory. This is going to be a long death ☠️
I think there's a market for broadcast traditional TV which I actually like because I have alot of 90s portable tvs that I hook up to the converter box as well as a smart tv and other modern digital tvs
Tv should be around for the older crowd cable tv isn't going nowhere it's evolving streaming I feel will get better in time it's a new concept and therefore to me the bugs are still being worked off it

Michael, I always love your videos. You are always on the consumers side, unlike many RUclipsrs. I sincerely appreciate all of your hard work and information. I personally use RUclips TV due to the cost. I wish my area could get all locals. I only get ABC, NBC, CBS, and the CW. I would like to get Laff TV, Antenna TV, Rewind TV, etc.
We have Fios and pay $245 a month, that’s for HD cable, internet, 2 cables boxes and Dvr. This with our apps would still be a lot cheaper than cable, just trying to convince the wife to switch
I made the switch after watching Michael’s videos last summer. I was a DirecTV subscriber for over 20 years, mainly for Sunday Ticket. I had to get the wife on board as well. Just pick up a ROKU streaming device and get the reduced price trial of RUclips TV for a few months before cancelling Fios. Get your wife to try it out, and then show her how much you can save a month by switching….😊
$72.99 for RUclips TV, $50 for Internet, and $75 for a one-time expense for 3 Roku boxes. That's $122.99 a month...less than half of your current cable bill. That said, RUclips TV was created for cord cutters. I only care about sports and 10 other channels. The rest are garbage.
My tv habits have changed over the years. Years ago I had to have every channel. Then when traditional cable price kept going up I cut the cord and learned to live without some channels. Now I watch a lot of shows on demand. There will be some shows I’ll probably miss watching live and live tweeting but the pricing has got out of hand. The $8 increase is too much especially considering just a couple years ago they were in a contract war with NBCU and supposedly fighting for the customers. I’ll be canceling. I’ve already done the math adding up all the services I have and the new service I’ll get to replace and I’ll save $540 a year

One of the problems I have had with these services over cable is the inability to quickly jump to stations because there are no "channel numbers" assigned. On cable, you can quickly jump from channel 124 to channel 26 with a few remote clicks.

There's no contracts for Amazon Netflix Paramount plus HBO there's no equipment for that neither television and Internet connection do you have to have for RUclips which I guess you could just watch it on your phone you can watch all that all the shit I said on your phone too
Is is there a customer service number for RUclips

I can’t understand why people pay a premium for live TV and tolerate all those commercials. I remember when we first got cable TV in the early 1980’s. The entire premise was to have more content, better quality signal of broadcast channels, and avoid commercials. People were pissed when HBO scrambled their picture around 1984/1985. Yet to this day, people continue to pay for these services regardless.
I remember those days. WTF went wrong😅. Have a great day!
Because it’s worth it.
@@119AgentWhy it's worth it?
I use yttv too. To avoid the commercials I record the shows and watch it as a recording . Then I can fast forward through the commecials
I dvr everything i watch, so I can fast forward thru commercials.
I watch when I have time, not when they are on.
My HOA says NO, NO, H*** NO! I have to hide my clothes line, or by golly I’d buy one…just to make them scream😅. Have a nice day😊

Great tips, especially the VOD vs DVR being able to skip ads.
This was super helpful, thank you for summing it all up so quickly for us all! 🙌
You said it, gotta have it. no local broadcast station reception at my location at all.
It doesn't travel. They lie.
I cut the cord back in 2018 and went with RUclips TV and have been happy with it. I’m on the fence on whether I’ll keep it, but I like the sports and news programs.
I cancelled a few months ago. It was not worth it to me. Plenty of free TV to watch.
Thanks Michael. I am a fan of RUclips TV, it works for me. I usually learn something with each video I watch. I still want my MLB back.
I think it's worth it. However, it is not as sports oriented as you intimate. I am used to baseball, Football, Hockey, Basketball and am getting into Soccer. Most of them are on their own separate streaming channels.
Great information for someone looking for alternatives to the standard Cable services.
I hope so too

Can you please add me on RUclips tv, its impossible to subscribe in my area

No, Cable is about the same price and more channels. The advantage of a streaming service is no contract and the ability to cancel, change, add anytime. Keep in mind these streaming services don’t factor in internet. Internet is 50-80 bucks.

Add in internet cost to the $73, to be fair.

(We are catching up on Blue Bloods and it has recorded live shows on the network and now is getting old shows that recently started broadcasting on ION.)
As always very informative. Thank you Michael@

My husband watches tons of sports as well as lots of the other channels on YTTV. We are happy with YTTV and know that the increased price still beats what DISH was charging.

Can you give me some more selling points for YTTV? I don't have bigten network on dish either. They suggested I upgrade to 200 pk but I see still no CBS but offer SEC ACCN and NFL. And think about it if you have a plugged toilet and I mean seriously plugged search for a video on how to fix it. I am also learning woodworking skills that will only benefit me by saving money making end tables, coffee tables and almost anything else you want and the cost is just for lumber. Look past the monthly charge when it saves you money in other areas of your life. Good luck!
As someone looking to cut the cord, would you recommend it? Over Sling and others?
The biggest problem with RUclipsTV for seniors is the Font Size and Color, especially on the Live Guide. A light gray font on a dark gray background is very difficult for many seniors. Why not a WHITE font on BLACK background or the reverse? And why not be able to increase font size and reduce the time period on the Live Guide? RUclipsTV needs to consider the visibility of text for vision impaired individuals.
I agree. They shrunk the font size with an update to the Live Guide in 2022.
A back button feature would also be AMAZING.
Thanks for your post. I split my time between two homes, it’s been my issue since cutting the cord. Have a great day😊

One thing I especially like about RUclips TV is that when scrolling through the channels you can hover over them to see what's playing in real time, and use this to select channels while avoiding commercials.
Ytube offers way too much football, reruns, local and national networks, and news. Others cost more to get better, but it's worth it.
I like commercials even tho they annoying because with commercials it feels like real tv and not the internet you're watching internet tv
I planned to only pay for RUclips TV during football season but then I added my boomer parents and they like it as a DD, especially unlimited DVR. It's a good example of legit family sharing. Right now, neither of us see full value individually but together we are choosing to pay.

I just cancelled my RUclips TV over a week ago and a friend told me a few days later that the price was going up. I did not think that $65 was worth it. We only watch for local news in the mornings and some family programs in the afternoon...no sports.
I think I will stay with Xfinity, had it for 40 Plus yrs.
I have no problem with that. It's better than paying $200 a month
Would like to MLB Network back on RUclips TV. I would like to get my local regional sports like Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Guardians, Cleveland Cavaliers, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Columbus Crew games.
The broadcast TV fee is there. It's just included in the price of the base package. But that is better than it being hidden.
Correct, the fee is not hidden. But you're still paying for the broadcast TV channels!
When factoring in fees it's still cheaper to go to RUclips tv that most basic cable packages.
@@poppy87 There's no question about that.
Am just glad we can carry our tv watching service on our hands, with our smartphones . Don't miss anything am watching and specifically sports. 👍
The jury is still out… We haven’t had it that long.. I don’t however feel like we watch enough to justify the price increase..I doubt we would pick up another live service…
thanks for the great review!!! This was very helpful to me :)
I have been debating that the last few days. Still seems a little pricey in light of the fact that they have lost a number of channels over the years. The upcharge for 4K is a little ridiculous in my opinion.
Ytube offers way too much football, reruns, local and national networks, and news. Others cost more to get better, but it's worth it.
This was extremely helpful… especially because I’m one of those newbie’s cutting the cable bill, Xfinity. 🤨 They just went up $20 per month!
No package is perfect. It depends on what's important
RUclips TV is an ideal backup if you have trouble picking up local TV stations from your antenna, especially if your house has an outdoor antenna that is affected by inclement weather
Still cheaper than alternatives. I hate it went up, but I was paying over $200 a month when I cut the cord.

No brainer.
Great points!

So what should I do? Go back to cable?
ATT Fiber is so cheap now you can still save. 300M is $35-$55/mth depending if you have ATT wireless (personal) + $72 YT, Im still saving close to $60/mth

It’s really easy to use. My brother and sister in law convinced us all to make the switch.
Very succinct and informative. Thank you!
I wonder how much longer they have to keep squeezing though?

That bad switch to RUclips tv it better ok
People never factor the internet bill into account when they talk about having RUclips TV. It's the RUclips TV bill plus the internet bill.
Exactly what I said in another reply
When i record something i would like to see the air date for that recording
My tv habits have changed over the years. Years ago I had to have every channel. Then when traditional cable price kept going up I cut the cord and learned to live without some channels. Now I watch a lot of shows on demand. There will be some shows I’ll probably miss watching live and live tweeting but the pricing has got out of hand. The $8 increase is too much especially considering just a couple years ago they were in a contract war with NBCU and supposedly fighting for the customers. I’ll be canceling. I’ve already done the math adding up all the services I have and the new service I’ll get to replace and I’ll save $540 a year
I am right there with you
@@MichaelSaves Michael..... YOU are cancelling YTTV... or did I read that incorrectly? I :(((LOVE))) it ! 🤗👌🥰 (Thanks to your recommendation 🤗) ..... If they doubled the cost, I'd STAY.! Compared to cable and all the streaming we've tried, nothing compares when it comes to being available, up and in-service!! . And if you've ever had to call YTTV to ask a question, they absolutely rock!! You don't know what it was like with the lousy streamers & cable companies I went through before finding them! Had them 5 months now and I ADORE RUclips TV!!! 💕 Thank you a million times!!
Get an OTA antenna people. I get 60 digital local channels for free and is plenty of good entertainment to watch for me. Sure, it does not have your favorite cable channels you used to watch, but now I don't even miss them. I was more interested in getting the local news and weather all the time. I refuse to pay $73 dollars a month for RUclips TV. If I am going to do that I might as well go back to Cable TV - but I would not. Same goes for Hulu Live and Sling TV.
I don't need to watch CNN, MSNBC, etc. There is allot of news either on my local channels from antenna or recorded here on Regular RUclips.
If you like spending 73 dollars a month for that kind of TV, fine with me, but I will not do it. That is 876 dollars a year I can use for better things. And I figure, RUclips TV will keep going up in price.
Michael, RUclips TV and Channels DVR are a great combo... Gives full control of DVRed content...
I switched to Hulu live tv. Was already paying for Hulu, so it made sense to me. I have no complaints.
Michael, you're the ONLY one I watch for info on how to unhook from Cable to streaming apps!! Your explanation is clear, concise & factual. Thank you for setting me straight on this!! 😉👍
I have slingtv and have the blue and Orange packages and I only pay $70/month. I get everything RUclips is offering except the skipping ads on RUclips.
Nice!
