How to make the HyperX Duocast sound better

- In this video I'm talking to you about how to make the HyperX Duocast sound better. I've reviewed the mic ( • HyperX DuoCast mic is ... ).
There are all sorts of things you can do to make the HyperX Duocast sound fantastic and these are some of them:
1 - get it on a boom arm and get it close to your mouth
2 - reduce the gain as much as possible
3 - set it to Cardioid pick up pattern
4 - download firmware using Ngenuity
5 - set the mic to 96KHz/24-bit sample rate in Windows sound settings
6 - Make sure it's selected as the default communication device
7 - Apply other settings in OBS
6 - Apply filters in Ngenuity
In this video I'm showing you how to tweak sound settings in OBS too, including adjust bit rate and sample capture in sound settings, applying filters, using the monitoring to check the levels and more.

So i'm a little confused whenever I put on the mic speakers all my audio goes away, so if I'm playing a game I can't hear audio making the recording kinda useless.
Is there any way to do the Mic monitoring/side tone with a USB headset? Plugging direct with a 3.5 headset seems to work but wondered if there was another option before I try fixing it with an external sound card of some sort.

Does the RØDE PSA-1 work well with the Duocast microphone, considering the minimum mic weight requirement of 700g stated by Rode, while the Duocast without the stand weighs 243g? I have the Rode mic arm and I'm considering buying this mic. Can you provide some insight Mr. Prawn?

thanks, good video! quick question.. i realized you placed the mic vertical on your arm. is there a downside on using it horizontally? the hyperx logo is in the front but by using it sideways i don't have it infront of my eyes that much.

How do I know whether the microphone is omnidirectional or cardiroid without the use of the program?
A white rgb ring goes around it showing you which mode you are using
Does anyone also having issues with getting the mic to be detected in the Ngenuity app? I unplugged and plugged the damn thing many times and it still doesn't detect....

Hi, i'd like to ask how to fix the firmware update on the duocast, i just bought mine and I had problems with my firmware update installation, it just says "2 minutes left" even if i've been updating for an hour.. thanks in advance :D

So, I've talked to a friend and they told me to plug the mic into a different port and it worked! Hope it works for you too

have you tried using it on facebook calls? cuz mine was always muting whenever I used it for fb calls.

my duocast light stopped working when i downloaded ngenuity. it started when i dowloaded firmware update but it didnt download it

@@meowmeow9828 Apparently it's an long standing issue with NGENUITY software. Firstly try turning off updating of the firmware, re-connecting your microphone into different PC ports on the motherboard side and try. If that doesn't work (which didn't work for me either) my solution was that I did install some custom driver files and my microphone did update. I forgot where I found it, I think it was in Reddit or something. Try to search it up.

Hallo! I recently got this mic and found your video very helpful. I'm running into a huge issue with the recording volume though. Unless I'm almost yelling directly next to the mic it won't record at anything higher than around -30 even when I max out the gain (Audacity and OBS), and trying to raise the volume via editing is incredibly tedious. I've tried reinstalling the drivers, as well as different USB slots. I apparently sound fine in Discord with my volume slightly raised, but recording software is just so quiet. Is there something obvious I am missing? Thank you for your time.

I wish I could give you good news, but I was never able to solve this problem. My assumption is that my mic just might be a lemon, but I haven't replaced it as of yet.@@tadam666

Not sure if anyone else is having this issue but when I got to update the firmware the download gets stuck and it turns off my microphone. Even if i exit out to the program my mic continues to be off and I have to unplug and replug it in. Is anyone else having this issue?

If i don't use noice reduction it sounds better,but from 40 cm away it catches my breathing like it is in my mouth.Just awful mic
