Agree 100%. Both should’ve been SB heroes. Both of them & their teams were let down by bad coaching decisions. Jones had them in field goal range. Make 2 handoffs & kick a FG & Pats can’t win.
Yeah it's too bad because I really wanted the Cardinals to win that game. I think Warner and the Cardinals felt overly pressured to score before the end of the half because the Steelers were favored to win, and they should have just relaxed. But that being said it was a great play.
It wasn't a bad call. Butler had just seen the play in his film study and jumped the route. A similar thing could have happened on a running play. It's not a bad call; it's good preparation.
It was the worst call I’ve ever seen at that level of football. Never throw over the middle in a short field situation. Football 101. Not to mention they had the best short distance runner in the pros.
@@ponderosaoutdoors I mean throwing when you’re that close isn’t always a bad option…if they blitz the middle in man you can have an open pass…but as you mentioned: they hd marshawn lynch…no WAY he wouldn’t truck people into that end zone 🤦♂️
As a Patriots/Brady fan, all of our crazy Super Bowls plays are so nostalgic, man I miss those times, felt like yesterday when I was witnessing them and going absolutely crazy, I will always remember Malcolm Butler’s legendary pick at the goaline, Brady leading the 28-3 comeback, the Edelman catch, and many more memories, and even Super Bowl 53 had a lot of memories for me.
I'm not a Patriots fan( Giants fan here, but I won't tease you or anything 😉), but admittedly, every Super Bowl the Patriots played in during the Belichick-Brady era was always compelling and the game almost always went down to the final minutes or seconds - well, besides Super Bowl LIII vs the Rams, anyhow.
most patriots fans were just brady fans & band wagoned bc of the super bowl wins so when i see a pats fan commenting i’m can’t help but think “are you really a pats fan” 🤔 not saying you aren’t but there was a lot of dick riders back then
One crazy play that was missed: The Steelers successfully ran an onsides kick against Dallas in the 4th quarter of Super Bowl XXX after they had just closed the gap to 20-10. They scored on the ensuing possession to make it 20-17. Given the context of the onside attempt - 11 minutes left to play, down two scores - it was an incredibly gutsy call to fuel an improbable comeback effort. Now, it’s not a stretch to guess that the reason it gets overlooked is because Neil O’Donnell threw the interception with 4 minutes left to play - ruining a golden opportunity to tie or take the lead - and Dallas won 27-17. To me, if you’re going to include the Saints pulling a fast one, this is a worthy inclusion as well. Especially since the prompt was “increasingly crazy plays” not just “crazy plays made by the winning team.” Anyways, that’s my rant. Great video!
I love that the Jason McCourty pass break up got put on here. Unexpected, but boy, I remember how crucial and elite that play was watching it live. Amazing!!!

Kearse had an amazing game. But - - - my story. I don't gamble. But, on the Thursday before the game, driving home from work, the local sports talk radio was taking last calls for a Super Bowl pool: who would win, and what would be the score. Listening on my drive, sentiment was overwhelmingly for Seattle. I pulled in the driveway at home with 5 minutes left in the program, and the end of the pool. On a whim, I called- and got in! When they asked my forecast, I asked: "has anyone taken New England, 28-24??" It was not taken - and they moderator asked my reason. I told him that with all the interest, I has taken a close look, and the teams, statistically, were almost exactly an even match, on both sides of the ball; I felt the they would average one score each per quarter. The greatest difference I could see was the presence of Rob Gronkowski - and that he would make a critical play to keep a drive alive for a Patriots touchdown and Seattle would have to settle for one field goal. 28-24. I never thought, until part way through the 4th quarter, that I had any chance to win the pool. And when Kearse made that circus catch, I was sure I would lose..... But to have a rookie free agent be the one to secure the win was storybook.

It’s crazy how many games the Patriots are apart of with both good and bad moments for them. A few lucky bounces the other way and the Patriots could have 2 or 3 more super bowls and vice versa could have only won a couple instead of 6. They were just always there.
Even if Wilson throws the pass to Lynch on the left he would’ve got in for the Touchdown. As a Seahawks fan it’s the most painful play in team history. 😢
