Mixing up wood burning and tattoos gives a great finished product. It's too cook how your set up reminds me of my little work area. If you use magnified glasses and a pencil tip you can get some great amount detail on your piece and the glasses help with making sure you aim small and get a great look when you step back. Great job here.
Thank you. On this piece I just used the Walnut Hollow wood burning tool. I used a few different tips. The shading tip is the one that gives it that shading detail. Thanks so much for watching and for the great comment.
@@WaywardWaggs you might look into a shopify store as well, you may like that better. I have an etsy store, an ebay store and I'm working on a shopify store now... all three have there advantages and disadvantages but they are all good platforms and get your name out there. I work full time too, I was able to learn how to set them all up by listening to youtube videos during my lunch break and my drive to and from my full time job. 😎👍
Thank you. I appreciate the compliment. Everyone prices differently. I would charge about $50 for this piece. Supply cost was $10. Burn time was about 4 hours. $10 per hour to burn and $10 for supplies. I would charge more if I had to ship it.
I do most of my work with a regular Walnut Hollow Versatool. The kind you can buy from Hobby Lobby for around $25. I recommend getting the one you can regulate heat with. I also have a Colwood Superpro 2 which is a little over $200. I use it for greater detail but it isn't super necessary. Start with the cheaper one and work your way up.
Every one I do is custom, so it just depends on size (cost of wood), detail, and how much time I think it will take me to complete (labor). This piece I donated to raise money for charity. A piece this size with this much detail would run about $70. It auctioned for $125 which was awesome.
or you just put enough forethought into the piece so you don't have to do a creative add on to cover a mistake. once you've gained experience laying down consistent outlines and can do different values of shading and color blending it's pretty straight forward
Ya. I don't take orders online yet because I am still working full time at my job and don't have time to fulfill a lot of orders. Plus, everything is custom and prices vary depending on size and detail. Send me a PM on Facebook with what you have in mind and I can give you a quote.
I’d probably go for hand drawing your pieces and coming up with concepts yourself, instead of taking pieces off the internet. If you do, I’d recommend crediting the artist who originally drew the art. Just something to take into consideration. I love the pyrography though, very smooth work!
Absolutely. I don't sell on eBay, but I have done pieces for up to $200. Just keep in mind, it takes 8-10 hours to burn a piece with that kind of detail but it is a fun hobby.

Nice Side Hustle! Came out great! Etsy is not to bad to manage once you get it setup.
Thanks. Will probably look into Etsy once I stop working my full time job. It might be a good option for selling some of my pieces.

That's awesome. Very innovative way to make side $$$.
It is very fun and therapudic also.
Your quality is great. How do you figure pricing your work?

Thank you. It is a really fun hobby and it brings in a little extra cash.
GREAT JOB !
Thank you.
Beautiful work man! I’m looking at buying my first pyrography tool to start as a hobby. Anything you recommend?

Wayward Waggs will try that. Is that one good for lettering too?
Ya. It works good for lettering.
Wow that's very cool! What do you charge for them?

@@WaywardWaggs that's fantastic I have an idea for one. It might be up your alley to lol..
Cool. Send it. I'm always looking for cool things to burn.
I see our logo on wood soon!
Do you guys have a logo? We were considering designing one but have not come up with anything yet.
@@WaywardWaggs we do but it might be hard to do for wood burning but I'm sure Betsy could come up with a welcome sign design!

How do u get a business license for wood burning
I just went up to the county clerk's office and filed. I am sure there is a way to do it online nowadays but I have never navigated that process.
Ok, so it started as a hobby, you taking orders yet? If so, where? I checked your website and couldn't find anything.

what do you charge for your peaces
Depends on size and amount of detail. Something like the one in this video would be around $45-$50.

What with the horrible background noises?
You discussed nothing about making money in this video.
Is it possible to make at least $200 to $300 if I get good at it and sell several pieces on eBay or something?
Absolutely. I don't sell on eBay, but I have done pieces for up to $200. Just keep in mind, it takes 8-10 hours to burn a piece with that kind of detail but it is a fun hobby.
@@WaywardWaggs thank you!!!
I imagine some of your work could exceed $1,000 depending on the size, the amount of detail involved and who's buying it.
@@usnva5638 I have done some for a few hundred but you are correct, they could get quite expensive depending on size and detail.
@@WaywardWaggs that's awesome. How would you recommend selling?? If you don't mind me asking.
