Thanks for watching, y'all! If you're interested, you can download the free 2x4 Workbench SketchUp model here: bit.ly/2x4workbench // Hopefully, I've inspired you to get your garage organized, between this video and last week's Garage Storage Shelves video : ruclips.net/video/cXQWgGMaDiw/видео.html
I have also built a cordless battery charging station, like you have. It’s amazing how much it has become a vital part of the shop. Craftsman tools are great products!! Great video keep up the great work 👍👍
Instead of getting a smaller miter saw, you should have had them give you a right angle drill. THOSE are useful. Not everyday, but when you need one.....
Nicely executed build and great tips. Really enjoying your channel. Best off all, Greatly appreciate how you shared your inspiration for the tool charging station. I hate to see those newer videos ( basically remakes of someone else’s idea) and not giving the credit of where the inspiration came from!
I think you could use the jigg more when drilling in the work bench? Drill the first row, use the al to locate the second row, then go back and do the same for the third. Now you can use the 2 holes on the top and the bottom, this way you eliminate the risk of measuring wrong between the rowes.
I have a bunch of the craftsman 20 volt tools I was a ryobi guy but I really like the build of craftsman and I buy a lot of materials from lowes I even bought a self propell lawnmower last summer great video I will be building me a mobil work bench soon
I'm just starting out with my woodworking/home improvement projects and I'm so happy to see you are using Craftsman V20 tools! I just started collecting my arsenal of those tools and excited to use them! Enjoying your videos and keep up the good work.
Literally such a good video. You earned my sub off of this video alone. Thank you for your time and effort you put into this, your pieces turned out looking great.
I'm curious how big the crossover is between woodworkers/DIYers and mountain bikers? I started watching Seth's channel shortly after I got my first mtb and you helped him with a project of some sort in one of his videos. I've always been a DIYer but had recently started trying to make nicer more accurate wood projects at the time and your channel just happened to be in the right place at the right time.
A youtuber that completes great projects without a sawstop! Awesome, I'll subscribe just because of that. Great job, nice seeing average everyday tools being put to good use.
I need a mobile base myself. Every time I go to start a project the first (horribly inefficient )step is to rearrange tools 🛠. I’m also working out of the garage.
I love my mobile base! Full size cabinet saw and 4x4 foot work top with French cleats, storage drawers, and dust collection. Best few days spent in a while.
I really like your shop setups (both shops). In this video (an older video) I see you are using the same table saw I have a Craftsman 10", my issue is Did you ever make a crosscut table saw sled for the Craftsman 10" saw? If so how did you make them, or did you purchase something?? Please let me know something.
+Crafted Workshop Cool tool organizing/charging rack. Based on 6:40 when you are testing the fit for the tool hangers (and the mention of hanging *certain* larger tools upside down) it seems like your original plan was to have most of the tool hang right side up, with the main body of the drill within the slots of the hanging rack. However, in the thumbnail and at the end of the video (~8:50), you seem to have switched to just hanging *all* the tools upside down by the base (where the battery attaches). Was there a reason/advantage to one way or the other? If you were to do this again, would you have made the height of the tool hanging slots shallower since it seems you have excess room when hanging upside down?
If I had to do it again, I'd make the openings closer to 4" x 4", to allow for more flexibility. That's the dimensions of the drill charging station at my main shop and I've found that a lot more tools fit in it. I just hung all of the tools upside to make things look nice and tidy for the end of the video/thumbnail. Looks better to have them all in one direction 😁
@@craftedworkshop Makes sense. So you would actually make them *bigger* so that you could have them all the same direction, but actually *right side up.* Rewatching that section, you do actually mention in the voiceover that you would have made the 1/8"-1/4" bigger.
When you do the wide shot of the nearly empty looking garage at the end, how much is sitting in the driveway to make it look empty?? I don't see a table saw, for example and I think you have had a lot of other tools in your videos that are not represented.
I am looking to get the Fast Cap Flex Bench system. I really like its setup. I am looking to make the bench and have it ready for when it arrives. Can I get the dimensions of your workbench please?
Great project and video. Sooo...you have two shops? The garage and then the commercial space you renoed and outfitted? Its your livelyhood of course but how does a fellow decide which shop to work in?
Thanks! And yup, two shops! The home shop is more for home improvement projects and that kind of things. The main shop is for all of the furniture work, anything with rough lumber, etc.
If you have the job plus (the oscillating multi tool) from Ryobi, you can use the Ridgid JobMax heads on it or vise versa. One of those tools is a right angle impact driver.
Bro literally the entire structural integrity of your bench depends on deck screws not shearing off. Maybe throw a 2x6 between your top and bottom platform.
Did you miss the part where he put glue in there? I have a bench that I have been using for thirty years that was built the same way, but with nails. Screws are better. Nothing wrong with the construction here.
Hmm.... after watching your latest video I was a bit confused about the shop. So.... you have a shop and a garage shop? Or is this an older video just recently released? Either way... great projects. Thanks for sharing.
It would be awesome if you put the plans up for the exact charge station you built up instead of the one you used as a reference. I would like to build what you have.
I"m about to pull the trigger on a table saw. ~8min mark when the off cut falls into the blade, is there anything to prevent that? Saw a guy get mangled from a kickback when I was a kid and have been scared of table saws since.
Hey, that's a tough call for sure. There are quite a few brands who are making great tools right now. I would say it comes down to your budget and the specific tools you're looking for.
Enjoyed your video and the project. Just a little safety note...hope you removed that multi plug before plugging in another power strip...even though they might be surge protected that is still piggy backing your power and could lead to electrical/fire issues. Yes I’m a retired FF...be safe...
I got something for ya. I am all theory as I haven't done the things i am about to say myself. So you know how you pointed out the terrible bends in your 2x4, why didn't you plane them? Just saying if you tried to flatten them out wouldn't it have been more precise or it just doesn't matter. I mean I watch everyone on what they are doing and that's a common thing all youtubers on woodworking do with their workbenches or it just doesn't matter.
Hey Johnny, love your channel, Just wanted to ask you about the Bits strap on your impact drivers, where did you get it from? Which company makes them? Thank you
@@craftedworkshop I was thinking about your bin problem of the opening not being tall enough to easily remove them. Could you rabbit out an area just high and wide enough on that upper support to allow them to pass?

It’s a push stick and came with the table saw. Tons of options out there or you could make your own out of scrap wood.

Ryobi has the best lineup of tools that all use the same battery.

They're pretty much just red DeWalt stuff now
