Apart from the Northeast Corridor, long distance passenger trains in the USA have a reputation for very lengthy delays, whereas trains in China usually run on time.
In the USA, the purpose of public services (transport, health, energy supply, etc) is the generation of profits, whereas in China it's providing services to the people.
And in the US people pay very high taxes like personal income tax, sale tax and also import tax if items are imported.
But the Chinese pay much lower tax or not paying any tax yet the Chinese government is able to provide super infrastructures to the people.
Public transport in the "big" cities such as NYC and Boston and Philadelphia and Chicago and San Francisco exists because without that public transport, the "inner cities" of the aforementioned cities would be total gridlock if the public transit did not exist.
THAT is why all the different commuter trains and metro/subways etc. are HEAVILY subsidized by the governments as they ALL operate at losses.
China is on another level with its Tech and Infrastructure this Train Marvel from China just makes US looks like a scene from Madmax movie old and crumbling infrastructure all around.
Soon China will have flying train and cars, while the US will be still on Steam Train😂😂😂
and china will still have no corporations anywhere near rich as Apple, Google, Microsoft, and Walmart
China infrastructure is light-years ahead of the USA, no chance they can keep compete with them...
USA focuses more on manufacturing weapons of destruction to destroy other nations whereas China focuses more on providing infrastructures for its people.

US rails are aging. The unstable rails contribute to most of the shaking. I remember riding French trains in the 80s. You just bought a ticket and rode. If there were no seats then we stood up for 6 hours! Sometimes, we slept in the walking corridor. People were considered though. Rafa, enjoy your travel.

There's no seating in the "new" Penn Station because they KNOW FULL well that the "homeless"/"unhoused" would start using the seating. They "know" from past experiences.

I had been to Philadelphia before and it was a big famous place to go, and also for New York, it is known for its economy trade leader, but Guangzhou and Shenzhen are just the most developed cities in China, and it has beautiful views at night!

The biggest difference is that in the US and Canada use the same rails for freight and passenger trains and freight trains get priority over passengers trains. China has different set of rails for freight and passenger trains so there is no delays !

It's like the UK, estimated final costs per 1km of HS2 rail line is around £220million, because it's run the capitalist way, certain things should always be owned/run by people, healthcare, water, energy and other utilities, public transport, these necessaties should be run not for profit to greedy corporations and rich shareholders, but enough to keep them running, modernised and upgraded.

I have emailed 4 times to Biden Administration for the United States to get us the Maglev trains. It would create at least 15 million union jobs across the nation instead we spending money on wars.
This would be a very difficult and money-draining task for the US, due to 1) the low population density relative to China, and 2) the resistance of the airline industry.
Even California has no clear path to achieving a HSR line due to land acquisition hurdles in the San Francisco Bay and Los Angeles metro areas-without them the line is rather pointless

It's not fair to compare US trains with Chinese Trains, because :
1. Train travel is a major part of transportation in China, which means the government will focus more on that; meanwhile train travel is not even an option in ppl's mind in Ameica.
2. Train travel is part of the public infrastructure, and Chinese government is not using it as profit tools, and the Train department is in huge debt; meanwhile anything in the US should be profitable, goverment and ppl won't elect a party that will simply loosing money.
3. In the transportation aspect, not much countries are able to match with China.
4. Its like compare a nice patato with a spoiled candy, they are both food, but totally different thing.

America doesn't need trains. They have a well-developed air transport system. People travel by airplane, which is faster than any train.

But when the distance is not too far, airplanes have no advantage (waiting time is long, and airports are usually built in remote places)
HSR sweet spots are between 700 to 1500km
train ismuch more convenient! It may take only 5 minutes from entering the train station to entering the train, It's impossible in airport. Besides, trains are always on time, planes are always delayed or even cancelled due to bad weather or flow control.
Avoid those Boeing planes though.
