    Those motors come closed why didn’t you show how you opened those motors without power. You can’t reach the bolts while they are in closed position.

      That was a pain! I had to ignore the instructions many times during the install and just figure it out. RC really needs to revise the install instructions.

      I left those bolts bottom up bolts and the front motors guards for the end. Once I had all else mocked up and tested for operation I left motors extended and tightened up everything. Helps to batter center boards to have them rather loose.

    Appreciate the video greatly. It helps to have a 2nd person to install the motor protection plates to catch the threads on the flag nut and the M12 tension block . Also connecting motor harness , I had to use needle nose pliers to tuck connections inside protection plate. My install is on a Sahara 4xe which has several insulated cooling hoses and wiring harnesses on driver’s side frame rail limits access to holding flag nut and feeding wiring harness. Job would have been much easier with motors extended. Also mention torque specifications are in installation pamphlet.

    If you have the all weather floor mats that moves the floor plug on top of the floor mat, how do you get the wires into the cab?

      Just came across this issue. If you look under the passenger seat there is another drain plug that is not well documented. I used that one. Same es they show but routing it close to the seat brackets. Then at the base of the console stack and gears got area meet. Gives you a bit less slack when routing it to drivers side but still gives you enough. I mounted my switch onto the carpet with Velcro just below the 4wd gear selector on the drivers side.

    Rough Country how do I adjust them from hitting the jeep when they close. the one on the passenger side hits my jeep in the middle of the board then a second later it backs off. I don’t want it hitting my jeep every time it closes. Happy to send a video.

    The video says each side is rated for 660 pounds but the item on the Rough Country website says each side is rated for 300 pounds. It doesn’t say each motor, it says 300 pound for each side.

    Hello this might be a Gladiator specific question but for the rear mounting blocks does anybody know which way you’re suppose to orient them? They are ramp shaped and instruction don’t mention which way to put them on???? I did mine with the thicker part towards the rear 🤷🏼‍♂️

    • @x0Diesel0x

      That’s the way. Body kinda cinches up so the blocks offset that.

    • @ElevatedVehicles

      I heard it hit the body panel in their video. Did you ever find an answer to this?

    • @deltalimajuliet5680
      @deltalimajuliet5680 11 месяцев назад

      @@ElevatedVehicles sort of. I provided enough video proof that the company sent an entire set for me to try as they kept stating that since the motor/gear assembly was a non adjustable unit, it should not allow for the board to hit the vehicle when closed. I changed out the two motors on the passenger side and sent the rest back. They paid for return shipping. That side was fixed, then a month later the driver side started bumping when closed. I found when closed I could manually pull down on the running board a little and it opened the closure gap for a while. Finallyt I just gave up. I still like the eboards and put a thin bumper on the place where the eboard hit the body. I think that inside the motor/gear unit however it is made allows the gears to slip a little. It has a built in stop in case something gets caught while it closes so it is not a hard slam. But over time I can see the eboard rubbing on the body and pain. Hope that helps.

    • @Rt0316
      @Rt0316 Год назад

      I was just thinking about how I can put switches in to make them operate with doors off. I haven’t bought them yet but I’m going to tonight. If I’m thinking correctly, I want to drill a switch in on both grab handles of my JT. Bc they use magnets to switch the motors it should just be a matter of tapping into those 2 wires to break the contacts with an inline switch. This will allow both driver and passenger to individually lower steps with the doors off.

  • @jply87
    @jply87 9 месяцев назад

    I just installed these on my 21 JLU. To open my motors, I just used a 12v cordless tool battery and touched the wires to the plugs. I installed the door sensors on the rear to the latches. It helps to open the boards faster. The kit does not have an option for Doors Off driving. I did some testing and have a solution. It involves adding two time delay relay modules and some momentary push buttons. I can give more details if needed. I did not like the instructions or packaging at all. A complete mess. The driver side motors should have had all the bolts packed with them. Same for passenger side and motor covers. Instructions should have been separated to 4 door and 2 door. Not shown on the same pages.
