god damn that must of been a good ass tune you were goin 60 and you were spinnin
GM work of art. Beautiful truck!
Just an FYI on my old truck(5.3L Suburban) I also did hi flow cats and ditched the muffler as well as a larger diameter exhaust. It helped a lot.
Wow the sound on that dyno was amazing
I just want to make sure, is this a 2011 Chevy 5.3 Headers, Intake, Tune?
😂😂
😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
a camshaft will compliment that setup perfectly nice truck
You cam it that truck gonna be zoomin
What he needs is better heads. One of the main issues with stock LS 5.3 heads, is they start to drop cfm's in the higher RPMs. A little bit of head work or some custom heads with a nice intake manifold would boost way more horsepower than some simple exhaust and intake tube with a logo on it. He's not pushing much more than stock. Especially with as much as he paid to have all of this work done... could have made way more power with actual engine work. These LS engines do great as is with the stock manifold and stock exhaust. You don't gain lots of horsepower by changing out the intake tube/ filter. Changing from the stock manifolds to the long tube headersonly grants you another few horsepower. That's why I've never understood the idea of bolt ons like this. If you're going for a sound, buy the long tube headers. If you're going for horsepower, modify the rotating assembly.
@@sethh8892 those heads are good tho
@@noahtheviking1 I didn't say the heads are bad. But if you know about Stock ls heads, then you would know they fail in the higher RPM range bc of failing CFM flow. Around 5200 RPMs, the CFM flow actually goes DOWN. Meaning they're pumping less air in each cylinder at a higher RPM range... this is what they should NOT be doing. Again, a little head work and valvetrain work would have put more power to the ground than these weak bolt ons.
@@sethh8892 that’s why you look at shortys vs long tube in the headers category. The CAI and Exhaust does not void factory warranty and DOES add horsepower. I have both and have dyno’ed before and after. Once you start messing with the block, that’s when things start blowing up sir. Screw your CFM readings lmao.
Absolutely crazy. Sounds good. Want the same for my 04 Denali.
your couch looks really comfy!!
transmission is still holdin' strong man. ive done alot more since this video.
goodluck on your truck and be sure to post videos so we can all check it out.
Simba Cortez sick truck man what bolt one did you have man I really want to make my Chevy 5.3 faster
Truck is running good bro. Unlimited performance does great work and tuning. They tune and wrench my bolt on n20 g8. They are located on Apollo st in Corpus Christi tx and now hav the dyno at the shop as well. Strongly recommend them for doing bolt ons and tuning. Even gear and cam swaps
That is one of the strongest bolt on only trucks I've ever seen.
nice hahah traction light came on! u were spinning truck sounds badass
Damn beautiful truck bro
Very nice bro. Clean Chevy. Keep it up.
Thanks for the video buddy
Good video and info man
Great video. Thanks for posting. Any issues with 'check engine' codes, or did the tuner disable all those? Enjoyed the video. Thanks for posting.
Great and have to see the check engine light on for eternity. To quote Dirty Harry...."Marvelous."
Sick ass truck! Pretty soon im gettin this set up and a tune! All i need is the Longtubes :/ and of corse the tune!
Big improvement.
No lol. These LS engines are good and all, but their main issue with the 5.3 liter heads is the cfms start to drop off at roughly 5200 rpms. They're simply not able to flow the air. If he actually wants to boost some power into it, he should dohe should do valve train work and head work. A mild cam, quality valve springs, maybe a slight port and polish (or bigger heads to begin with) and he'd be pumping out 50 more horsepower EASY. All with the stock intake manifold, intake tube, and exaust. The intake and exhaust on these engines were really nice and definitely do not limit these vehicles until you start pumping out about 400 horses. Once you start getting up into their the stock intake manifold starts to limit you, and the exhaust isn't able to scavenge properly. The only time I think it's acceptable to add a k&n 'cold air intake' his whenever you're a high school kid that doesn't understand how horsepower is generated in a motor. You can stick a filter on the throttle body and call it a day... matter of fact get a intake manifold that can support a larger throttle body, and get a tune. More flow, with proper fuel to mix = more power.
i thought 5.3s were weak, i guess i was wrong. i think i found my engine choice for my '63 impala
keep up the good work
no the dyno was reading the front wheels and the truck was in reverse?
Do you even lift?
that truck sounds great
Good video. I want some bolt ons now yeeeeeee
And tune
Dude I love ur truck
Did you do a larger throttle body as well? I know most 5.3l engines come with an 87mm but some say with a 90mm throttle body throttle response is incomparable
yess stock tranny and my transsmission is still running super good.
i added 373 gears and i upgraded the underdrive pulley since this video.
The truck is going into the shop for a cam swapmonday, still with stock tranny.
What type of exhaust does it have
What happened to the truck in the long run?
this truck is a beast
Sounded like a manual transmission on the first run lol
any exhaust changes on these engines tend to make them shift kinda loose. and he had the towhaul engaged as you can see in the cluster
thats because he had it in manual shift mode. look at the dash and you can see.
Calder Gray thats traction control, not tow haul. Tow haul holds gears longer and is slower, imo. Just lettin ya know.
yes I know what tow haul does. but just to let YOU know that M on the dash stands for manual. That let's you change the gears manually.
He had it in manual on the first run and regular drive on the second run
Wow, that’s awesome!! I wish I got the 5.3 but unfortunately my 08 came with the 4.8 😢
wow that sounds sweet.
Keep us updated bro
@ simba hey bro I appreciate the advise on making my truck run better! Thanks soon ill add the headers (pacesetters ceramic) right long tubes, 3.73 gears from spike performance, and a tune at corpus Christi TX .. thanks again
The new 6 speed transmissions can actually take a lot of power. I've seen some making 600+ hp stock holding up
Gorgonzola cheese 🧀
sounds beastly
good vid man
Holy Shit dude huge difference with those mods!
Around 50 extra horses tucked in the barn is pretty damn impressive.
I have a 2014 all terrain with mbrp exhaust, I would love to have that sound, what long tube headers did you put on?
thanks my friend will do
Sick ass truck homie damm
My suburban was asking the exact same thing!!! Living in Montgomery county I gotta pass smog too....
what's the size of the collector? thinking pacesetter is smaller then the LP gm headers. trim to start with and end in a 3in exhaust system. I'm already running a MBRP cat back, but still need the headers and cats out.
sounds great
Nice truck bro, what exhaust system (or specific muffler) do you have after the LT headers in this video?
See a lot of room for improvement but I love the truck tho I just got one and very excited to build this particular motor hear good and bad debates
Notice that after the bolt on you have the tow haul on do that make more power o make ir more louder
NICE TRUCK DUDE
I just ordered the pulley and front bumper cap from slp. What did you think of the pulley? Another nice little addition you may want to consider is the LS3 TB ( 90mm instead of 87 ). I put a jantzer ported and polished LS3 TB on my 2011 4.8 and I seem to notice alot more throttle response.
This Friday I should be installing the corsa sport catback exhaust !! So that should be Nice sound
Daym bro dat thing is nice !!!!!!!!!!
yeah man, we started with LT headers, Intake then tune, and it ran good. After awhile we did the 373 gears and swapped the underdrive pulley, and we recently cammed it. It's a beast now. Next is the stall.
The only truck that looks as sexy dropped, as it does lifted. Very nice
Yeah man, after we added the 373's and swapped underdrive pulley I noticed when 125+ it starts humming then vibrates, idk what it is forsure but im sure it is the driveshaft as well. im going to see if we can upgrade it.
im running 4;10 gears and my humstarts at 90 mph. scared to take it past that. i need to upgrade my driveshaft aswell. Setup is 24's with 4:10, tune, K&N. Longtubes and full exhaust coming this week with a retune.
I have a 14 I tuned it and the driveshaft snapped on me after 107
Drive shaft not ment to go over 100mph on them trucks
@@lorenblackledge7932 how the hell do you do that? Torque is what's going to snap those drive shafts. Not rotational speed. Unless you twat waffles have some warped axles. These trucks and the Yukon/ tahoe can go upwards of 130 before you need to worry about that.
Love your truck bro. I use to have a 89 2500 gmc . 5speed put a 7.4hp 454 headman long tube headers. 1000cfm Holley double pumper. Carb. Ect. Drop the truck 5inchs all the way around never made it to the dyno . Truck got stolen.
Like a few other people on here...I'm wondering why it sounded manual the first time...I actually thought to myself that a manual is not very common in those trucks...and then on the dyno and the second run it was auto...idk. the power numbers are probably pretty accurate, but it really just seems louder. It did seem to rev a little higher though on the first shift.
Did chevy provide a Sequential Shifting lever for single cabs ?
Love the note of an ls
I just got long tube headers installed & my truck has a sluggish acceleration, is that normal? It’s not tuned yet..
what king of headers?? they look great.just ordered my hedman elite long tubes last night!
5.3s are tough, great motors. check out the high output 5.3 ls327, 350hp and 340 torque
Hi. Links to the headers? Links to the k&n kit? Did u do new cat n exhaust system? Links to that's stuff too! Please!
Did you delete the displacement on demand system? Or did you totally program at out and or change Cam and lifters?
More noise but i notice that you turn on the tow haul button and that reva more the motor and transmision but sounds great
Clean👍
Them stock 5.3s are quick
Gotta ?,what muffler r u using on this beast
The simplest things make all the dofference
Do you have any advice for someone wanting to do this to a 2006 trailblazer ltz 5.3 ?
I know this video is old af but is the 333.9 the rwhp it gained a stock 5.3 from a nnbs specially the lc9 is like 260 rwhp what else was it done to it other than longtubes cai and the dynotune cause its a gain of 70hp more ?
Instant econ: 3mpg lol
Truck sounds great!
What drop kit did you use? Looking to do a 5/7 drop on my 08 but not sure which kit to go with.
Nice frickin truck
So factory it’s topped / governed at 96 was it your tune that let you run it up to 120 or govener delete
That's what's up!
that is insane!
nice truck bro
man that thing hauls now. and were those numbers at the crank or the wheels? seem a bit high at the wheels for a 5.3l
Hey brother, Love the truck, I got a 2012 Z71 with a super44 catback and i was thinking of a CAI and a tune..do u recommend such thing for a daily driver truck? and another thing, did the engine gave u any hard times after installing the headers?
Where did you go to get it tuned
Yo Simba! How is your transmission holding up with those bolt ons? I have heard they don't hold up well much past stock power. I just bought a brand new Sierra and Im looking to drop on some basic bolt ons. Truck sounds amazing btw and moves pretty damn good!
I have a 09 gmc sierra 5.3 volant air intake and adding corsa sport exhaust and I don't know what headers to install short or long tubes or what brand. I don't know if the check engine light will turn on after the headers and wanted to know if I tune it and dyno my truck the check engine light will go away.
I have 2 questions..
1. what is the exact name and website where you got those headers?
2.do you have an aftermarket exhaust on it?
Id like to add headers and high flow cats to my 09 5.3l and get a tune. How did you mate the long tube headers to the cats?
Dis you have to do any other mods to the exhaust? Or did the LT headers just bolt in? And did you just do the headers and intake? Thinking about doing the same thing to my '06 5.3L.
Sweet
Anyone knows if a dyno tune or any tune will give the car or truck any kind of issues or problems in the future..i wanna tune my silverado 08 4.8 stock, but im scared it mite give me problems in the future because now im messing with computer software n one thing leads to a other
Props man. Good looking truck. I have an 08. I kinda wish mine had traction control. Would help me out in Illinois winter months. Just curious how they tuned it. Use a programmer or try tune the computer itself
What horsepower did you start out with and end up with? Or did I miss that in the clip? Thanks.
so, for stock run you only had traction off. for tuned run, it was traction off and trailer mode on. your tune was more than a tune, but rather a full flash. if you don't mind my asking, how much did the tune cost and where did you have it done?
Almost ready to hang with a tuned Hemi Ram 👍
I would go with longtubes, and i think the check engine light will come on but after you get it tuned it will go away.
about the brand, I went with OBX but its all about how much you want to spend because the brand pacesetter is a little more expensive.
What does it cost to tune a 5.3 like yours , I recently added a S&B CAI, Borla Attak catback exhaust and an Edge Evolution CTS2 tuner to mine and it does not perform like yours, mine seems very boggy
Did it drive really bad before the tune?? I lost all my torque after I installed headers
Would a tune make better
What exactly is the whole set up on the exhaust, do you have them dual in dual out? By the way it sounds nice 👌
I've been researching many 5.3 mods because I'm wanting to rebuild mine within the next year, but I've never seen that kind of rpm. Guess that's why mine has 296k miles. I'm a 30 year old grandpa.
I wouldn't twist stock internals that hard.
HAAAAAAAAAA! That's perfect ! 5.3 has some nads to it just from stock . I punched mine and almost when side ways so I know its over 300 HP ! Its all aluminum block so its light , great fuel millage for dual cab 6000 lb truck . 15 to 20 mpg .
Pretty cool vids where yall from and also who you tuned by..Would like to do friendly runs
any opinions on corvette servos? thinking of putting one in mine
Nice 👍 what exactly did you do to let your truck run over 90 is it just the tune alone ?
What HP did it put down stock??
The supposed stock first run on the street sounds nothing like my stock Silverado...
Add a throttle body spacer to your truck. Airaid is the one I put on my Silverado and it had more power and mpg and worth it for something under $100
