This channel explores my journey with budget guitars through a mix of various kinds of videos. You’ll find boring unboxing videos, out of the box tone samples, discussions of fit and finish, features, specifications, hardware, electronics, initial thoughts, reactions, guitar work, and lots of stories.
Along the way, I'll offer my take on questions like, “Should I buy a budget guitar? “Is upgrading a budget guitar worth it?” What is the cost difference between upgrading budget guitars with the price of brand name guitars? Do all budget guitars need upgrade? and more.
Wherever you are on your guitar journey, I hope it’s a good ride for you.
Rock on with your bad selves.
I’ll catch you down the road.

@@2463Burgundystreet - That’s true and I have been encouraged by other players to keep a dryer sheet in my guitar cases. So, everything would have that fresh laundry smell (smile).

I thought so. Certainly beats the alternative.

The pick guard is made of multiple layers of plastic and can develop static electricity when you run your hand across it. On a single play Picard it could be even worse . And the static would be especially aggressive towards single coil pickups

If you have the appetite some time try toploading the strings with the shim see what you think, strings are slinkier top loaded.
Not everybody like the top loaded tone, depends upon where you usually live on the amp, mid to high gain sounds are different. Clean some folks find top loaded a bit sweeter

So what your saying is your static “Bounced" with that dryer sheet😅😅😅
If for some reason the plastic pickguard was staticly charged, it's possible that bounce sheet neutralized it🤔
Keep a sheet in your guitar case just in case! Haha

Bounced it did! Thats classic. Thanks for not calling me a dummy.

@@TedTalksGuitars Haha hey if it works, it works! 😁
If it is a pickguard static thing causing that, next time you change the strings on that, take the pickguard off and install some copper shielding tape on the back side all around the area where the pickup goes. That may help! 😉

@@j-man9457 - Thanks, brother. I thought about getting some shielding tape. After install new pickups and the input jack my confidence is fairly high (smile) - the dryer sheer incident notwithstanding.

@@j-man9457 - I think I saw in one of your videos you talking about how you use shielding tape in the spirit of the "train" explanation. Do you recall which video that was? I would love the refresher as the tape should arrive tomorrow.

I'm sure you are aware you have a strong visual resemblance to 1988 era Roy Buchanan.
