I've never seen a game with so much rain in my life even tho I only watch full football games of my Chiefs I still check highlights of other games around the league to see what's going on. What made it impressive was looking out my window watching it rain cats and dogs because I live in Kansas City and let me tell it was crazy the streets where flooded it was thundering and lightning and the game was suspended I thought twice but it was probably only once but it was a crazy game.

The game was temporarily suspended for almost an hour, then they got back out to finish the first half, halftime was only 6 minutes, and they finished the remainder of the game with rain still falling, but not as bad as it was during the first half. Chiefs managed to get away with a 17 to 6 win.
There was lightning in the area. That was the main concern. Lightning strikes are unexpected and are known to kill people. That's why the game was delayed, for the sake of everyone's safety. Both players and fans.

No the field drained and there was no standing water except for on the sideline when they resumed

I wasn’t at the game but while driving home that night my car got hit by a gully washer and flooded the engine. Never saw so much rain
People cars were swept off of bridges because of the flooding and lost their lives because of the rain
