I built this model 15 years ago. It is a great Model, I bought decals for A Bit o' Lace and Clear wax Falcon vacuum formed canopies from New Zealand And Top it Off with Verlinden resin and Photoetsing details. I spend well over 100 hours on that modell. I found an article in Fine Scale Modeler Magasin that gave me the inspiration
Really enjoying this detail series and the presentation as well! I wanted to mention that this playlist is listed in the opposite order. It should start with Part 1. Instead the latest part is placed first (meaning the playlist plays backwards: 15, 14, 13 etc).
Looking really nice... I've enjoyed the progress of this build...and YES..THANK YOU so much for making the point NOT to overdo weathering... Panel lines is a big one for me with some builds.. So bad it looks like a skeleton. Now chipping is one thing, I've seen real WW2 aircraft with really bad chipping, but not panel lines, esp not on modern jets. What People forget is showing Panel lines like that is supposed to show dirt or shadows between panels and if there was that much of a gap to create shadows and dirt, the thing would never be airworthy.
Your gloss coat with Minwax polyurethane looks really smooth and glossy. 1) Do you use the oil-based Minwax gloss coat and 2) I assume you airbrush it? I see Minwax also makes a Polycrylic that is water based. I've always used Future, but am always open to new techniques as long as I don't screw up using the wrong product or get a bad reaction between products. I subscribed to your channel, but didn't see the other two decaling technique videos you mentioned.
Mike, I use the oil based version. Testors clear flat is a lacquer paint and I do not know its compatibility with water based paints. Go to my playlists and open the aircraft tutorial list. i think its the second of third video. mike
