25 years ago, controversial filmmaker Yury Hashchevatsky released an overview of Belarusian President and "Europe's Last Dictator" Alexander Lukashenko's first 500 days. The film, An Ordinary President, was swiftly banned in Belarus. 25 years later, despite increasing protestation, Lukashenko remains in power and An Ordinary President remains forbidden. Aliaksandr Fiaduta (Alexander Feduta) is now jailed and Yury Zacharanka (Zakharenko) was murdered 3 years after this film and his body has not been found. The director now lives in exile, he was beaten in Belarus for making this film. Syamyon Sharetski (Semyon Sharetsky) is also currently in exile.
My heart bleeds for our European brothers in Belarus. I hope the people of Belarus will be free. 🤍❤🤍
This film isn't the most beautiful, but it is a precious testimony to how Lukashenka enslaved Belarus to Moscow. Lukashenka is nothing more than a fascist, a thug and a thief. I am angered that more hasn't been done and still isn't being done to protect Europe against Muscovy's imperial lust. As long as ruscism survives, there shall be no peace in Europe.
