- When you hear 'methamphetamine,' you likely think of illicit drug use and crime dramas. But did you know there's a legal, FDA-approved form of meth called Desoxyn, prescribed for ADHD and obesity?
In this video, Dr. Sanil Rege sheds light on this powerful stimulant's dual role in modern medicine, exploring its potential benefits and serious risks. Discover why Desoxyn is used as a last resort in severe cases of ADHD and obesity and why its high abuse potential makes it heavily regulated.
This comprehensive video delves into Desoxyn's mechanism of action, dosage, and treatment protocols. Dr Rege also discusses why this drug is rarely prescribed, even though it offers hope to those with treatment-resistant ADHD and obesity. The discussion expands to explore how methamphetamine's unique ability to temporarily open the blood-brain barrier could pave the way for innovative cancer treatments, such as chronic myeloid leukaemia and glioblastoma.

I went from dropping out to a 4.0 grade average in about a year because of this medication.
That’s really good to know. What made the doctor prescribe this? How long ago was this?
I got so smart I dropped out anyway 😂
@@PsychiatrySimplified5bucks😂
So truly, out of curiosity how long ago was this? How long ago was this that you were drop out and became a 4.0 intelligence and still dropped out anyway. About how long ago was all this if I may ask??
Oh wow really?? Well God bless you hun. I haven't watched the video yet. I just wanted to read thru sum of the comments first
I have used and been addicted to drugs for about 24 years. First pain killers, then cocaine then crack then meth. Since i was a tiny kid i never felt right. I am always super depressed and really uninterested in anything. Dont really want to be around people or leave the house. Feel super tired all the time and can sleep for 24 hrs like its nothing... I have used drugs because they make me feel normal and make other people like me. When im sober everyone thinks something is wrong with me but when i am high everyone finds me normal and likeable. I really dont get high for fun but really to keep living... The problem is all the side effects and the on and off supply, purity and reactions i have to things. But now approaching 40 i really just want to find out what is wrong with me and maybe find a treatment so i can live a half way normal life. If not and i have to feel and exist like this than i do not want to keep going. Every day is torture practically.
I have this too, and just deal with it, but the frustration of baring this reality, gets old fast. hang in there I am on this quest along side you!
Coming from someone greatly identifying with you... Stoping use is your only answer. Note, years of use = years to repair. That combined with CBT(Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and extreme vigilantes are the only true way to heal.
@@RobertKrouse-nf4we i hear you. I just can't get through to a point where I feel anywhere close to bearing it. I've gone 1 year and was sort of doing ok. But the minute I went back to work the stress of it made me turn back to using. Right now I am working 6 nights a week and I have gone about the last week and a half without anything. It's terrible. I'm laying in bed right now tossing and turning. Just want this nightmare to end! I live in a very rural area and don't have access to hardly anything. Let alone people that understand I'm not some sort of demonic piece of garbage. I don't lie, cheat or steal and I work full time manual labor factory jobs... I do the best I can. But I just don't think I will ever be clean and feeling normal. Every day has been a struggle and just terrible for years on end now.
@@RobertKrouse-nf4we vigilantes??,……those pesky vigilantes!
Exact replication of my life story.. keep positive, there are people who understand fully, don’t get discouraged by those in your life that can’t grasp the perspective difference enough to be able to empathize or see between the hazy lines of ‘’addiction’’ and the factual differences between being unbalanced and when we feel ‘’normal’ under this substances effects. The stigmas we face are unfortunately our own doing due to the usual thing we have in common and that’s the years of abusing substances trying to find the fill to that hole that makes us feel not normal. Our loved ones get programmed to seeing the ‘’addict’’ self we often have been to and around them that the idea of this substance can be used medicinally if the patient is in the stage of life and self awareness to be able,to manage the self control. I can see from their shoes why it is so hard . Years of being a liar, or manipulator caused by the drive to feel at base level ‘’normal’’ vs the sincere post the stereotypical recreation stage of life. Some people never grow out of the recreation, some never meant to and some like myself and what sounds like you do and have. I don’t use to get high either. My dosage is roughly and no more than $1.00 a day or roughly a 1/10th gram a day if broken by weight. Because my desire to simply inebriate for the recreational ‘’high’’ for fun is phasing out my perceived tolerance I don’t even really notice. I’m no longer chasing to feel but using to maintain the lowest perceived feeling of normal. I try to maintain acclimation and I typically only feel a high is during a lapse of use such as few days without using for whatever reason. If the supply was/is steady I can maintain the acclimation, get/maintain a schedule where I actually eat , sleep and am able to keep up with my responsibilities to self like working ect. Unfortunately and where I’m going to leave this is remember the perspective of your loved ones and the ‘’I’m assuming like mine’’ years of recreational addiction they had to witness and live to love you through. Be patient and if you are sincere I bet on a prayer maybe you could prove with time and action. It’s hard to undo the things they’ve been programmed ‘’by us’’ to believe about meth as not only a substance people can abuse but also a chemical one if with respect and responsibility can be medicated to the inner personal perception of our personal belief of our own base line balance , whatever that is to you , only you could know where you feel normal, your task now is to teach them what that/ where that is. Good luck. -similarthoughtbox
I could just about write that myself, I have never been real comfortable in my own skin, I have been in counseling for the last three years, and what we discovered is I had many instances of childhood trauma.
Getting a doctor to prescribe any kind of stimulants is tough. If I microdose once or twice a day (3 rips on a bubbler) I feel more “normal” and go about my day just fine. I don’t want to get high from it, I just want to be ok.
I recently stopped using, and it’s fine until I have an attack and I get so wound up inside, I can’t stand it and the only thing I know that immediately relieves is the shit in that glass pipe that we all hate. I’m 64, trust me it just keeps going. Hang in there man, you’re not alone. I love it being out of my system, until I can’t stand it being out of my system.
To an addict, that all made sense, to a normy, probably not so much 😊 Remember always, suicide is not an option, call someone
Yes it started to feel normal around others that would make fun about how I spoke, how I sounded when I spoke…it started in 7 th grade p.E.class where the teacher called me slow -mo.and would moation his arms at me .,then the other kids would start in….in high school it got worse they even had a dress up day ,to dress like me for that day…. I hated it ,,then one day going to class I was stoped by some students and they stoped me laughed in my face doing the slow mo thing then they said why are your eyes so red ,you look so wasted ..I just out of the pool from swimming laps before classes ,I was on the swim team all four years .,. And then when ever my moms sister would visit she would say to me ,your on drugs ,yes you are I can tell… I didn’t do drug until I got so fed up with her causing me of being on them when I wasn’t. After awhile I said fuck this is driving me crazy ,I guess I’ll do the stupid drugs ,after I started she really never said that to as much…..to day I look back knowing what I know today would have controlled myself better but other problems out of my control came into play and I just through everything my family wanted to hear me told me just go away you amount to nothing, you’ll be nothing your dreamer when you going to grow up and hang up your surfboard and get areal job and make something of your self….? I got married to my beautiful wife Jeanne and talked to me and told me just because you used drugs doesn’t make you a bad person you know right from wrong ,your a fabulous husband and I’m so sorry you had Togo through this…I love you for you your an angle sent from heaven oh yes you are.
Mike i feel the same and am right there with you in micro dosing. We share alot of the same burdens. God bless you
The stigma can be more deadly than the actual drug.
My mom took this stuff for years! She has fibromyalgia and one of the issues with it is fatigue. It was fine. She never abused them nor did it change her personality. It's all about the individual's mindset. She never saw it as anything other than her medication.
Thanks for sharing. Yes when used appropriately it can make a big difference. Prescribed doses are different from the varied doses with street meth. Also mode of administration affects the speed of release
That's why I use it. My fibro.. It helps

My best friend did meth while she had cancer because the pain meds did help with her pain didn't even touch her pain she'd do a little bit in the morning and be able to get up out of the bed and move around not a lot but she was able to get up and watch her kids graduate from high school she was able to spend her last few months with her family pain free because of meth She still passed as way but them last few months Meant more to her than anything her whole entire life.
I can see the rationale. With pain in general - Dopamine and Noradrenaline are important in pain reduction .im sorry for your loss
Had no idea it could help with chemotherapy in those situations or any at all tbh. Fascinating. Thanks for getting the word out there that stigma shouldn't dictate our medical decisions
As a cancer patient in some cases such as breast cancer addicts with cancer had no growth while using but the rest of the body in most cases high end ok the body took a tremendous toll.

I've always been a big adult. 5'8 250ish. I am not a lazy person but no matter what diet or excercises I can't seem to lose weight. Not even with meth. I'm the only person I personally know that gained ⁴⁰lbs when I started using. But it does help with my pain and helps me keep my thoughts not so erratic. Still not really happy with my life, but I already know I would be MISERABLE without it.
In my hospital, we easily have 3-5 deaths per month from alcohol. Patients are usually in their 40's. We may have 1 death per year from meth.
Alcohol is such a huge market worth billions of dollars, so it's just easier for doctors and government officials to hide the truth and spread misinformation.
Yeh they just look dead 😂 walking dead!
Wow really, that many deaths from alcoholism? Wow I knew it was bad but I didn't think it was quite that bad. So there is about as many people dying from alcoholism as there is from heroin abuse or they're probably more just from heroin than alcoholism? Isn't there? But very interesting to hear that there's only one or two deaths per year from meth or methamphetamine? Very interesting.

In life, some of the most unfortunate experiences people have, end up teaching them the greatest lessons they’ve learned in their lives. How we interface with our pain results in whether it serves or enslaves us!,…we make that choice, no one else does.
We can either utilize our past to build our present & future, or stay stuck in old abandoned spaces that no longer really exist,..we choose to become better people for ourselves, our kids, our grandkids & our friends & communities.
It’s sad, but yeah, most of the time that is the outcome. Most people simply use too much and damn that has some really adverse side effects. Nothing worse than being around a bunch of people that are too high.
@@mikenilson6744 Agreed. People who learn to blame everyone else & everything else as causal to their problems in life conflate, demonize & scapegoat the drugs they use. They target drugs as the primary reason for all their troubles. Those “troubles” started LONG before they ever used drugs.

You need to take days off. Also wait till later in the day some days to take your dose. If you can get a real nights sleep your meds will work again.
Also amphetamines deplete vitamin B. Take vitamin B
@@mikegeary8056 that's true 😀 I used to take some days off my Dexamphetamine tabs
I’d suggest getting blood work done to determine if you have a metabolic issue as far as the Amphetamine tolerance. A Peak & Trough blood test will confirm exactly your body metabolizes the medication. I wouldn’t suggest taking more of anything without knowing wtf is going on within your body. Metabolism changes as we age so a blood work up including a CBC(complete blood count), a Comprehensive metabolic panel & the Peak & Trough will answer those questions. Tolerance is one thing and can be addressed easily with dose restrictions. Metabolic changes are another issue all together and may require a change in medication, in dosage prescribed or any number of things..
Desoxyn is the only ADD medication that is very rarely if ever prescribed. I’ve never personally had it so I can give an opinion on it. Adderall did wonders for me but it was so habit forming. I haven’t taken it since 2009 when I came off all my meds. I’m one of the fortunate few that beat my ADD/ADHD cause most people like me that were diagnosed at childhood end up taking meds for the rest of their lives in adulthood
When you realize where most of your customers end up it’s only smart to lobby for a “legal form” only available through the same people that introduced you to it at 7yo
Amazing presentation.
Glad you liked it!

Ive thought for a long time that meth would put me to sleep and not get me all speed up.

Cocaine is extremely addictive especially for people with ADHD. You’re better off doing Meth but not homemade lab cooked cause it’s dirty and nothing like Adderall

I knew none of this, glad to have it pop up on my feed. Ordinarily, I only go looking for something when I need or want to learn something, but this was unsolicited. With the drug craze changing from meth to fentanyl in the news, this explanation of meth's uses in a clinical setting is not well known, if at all by the majority of Americans
Prescribed Desoxyn for Meth Addiction is a “best practice use” Desoxyn-as a replacement therapy for Methamphetamine Addiction or -MAT-Medication assisted therapy would STOP crimes of addiction based desperation-theft, it would immediately arrest the Drug Cartel trafficking, improve addicts mental health & well being allowing them to maintain medical treatment & gainful employment & housing.

Thank you very much for sharing your complete research and knowledge and the true straight up honesty on it. You are definitely a gentleman and absolute scholar. Many thanks. May Karma graciously wink with the smile of satisfaction upon you.
Thanks for the effort in sharing your views in the message. I appreciate it. 🙏🏼
My great grandfather was Dr. Benjamin Rush
Wow!
It uses to be on every shelf and check out counter across America. It was called Contac cold medicine and Mini thins, to name a couple. ClaritinD is available directly from the pharmacist with your ID. It's limited, but available. thats all im gonna say.
Yeah I'm self medicating with sudafed since doctors won't help me. It helps me do stuff and get out of bed.
All forms of ADHD medicine is a form of methamphetamine. I don’t care what people say. My kids were on many different kind. I did take them off of it because of the effects I should be on something but because it has a tendency to become addictive or anything I just deal with it and let people think I’m weird
12:50 exactly what you said, it's the amount and frequency of use that's bad. Not so much the drug itself.
Thanks for such a comprehensive video on this drug! Perhaps you can answer one question for me, as my neurologist didn't have enough info about desoxyn to do so...
For some background first, I have severe, med-resistant narcolepsy with cataplexy. In nearly every other circumstance, my treatment has coincided with the average adhd (which I also have) treatments, just with an amplified dosage. I currently take armodafinil (maxed) and Adderall tablets as a booster to that (also maxed), but this has become insufficient like all the other combinations I've tried over the years. After hearing about this med, i got excited and asked my Dr about it. He said it's actually contraindicated for treating narcolepsy 😯!
Could you please explain to me why that is? I'd very much appreciate your input🙏🏻
That is incorrect however Desoxyn is not commonly prescribed. I would reccomend listening to the video where I discuss Stimulant stalemate - often simply working along the stimulant pathway leads to tolerance or a loss of response as many symptoms are mediated by other mechanisms. In a week or two I will release a video on how does one think through mechanisms when a stimulant / s stop working. But here is the reference for narcolepsy and desoxyn. There are also individual studies showing benefits but it’s not routinely prescribed as other aspects are usually sufficient to address this. narcolepsynetwork.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/NN-Medication-Brochure.pdf
@PsychiatrySimplified thank you for responding so quickly☺️. I'm definitely going to check out the other aforementioned videos you suggested, but the issue (according to my neurologist atm), is that I have N with cataplexy. My brain no longer produces orexin on its own, which is also why it
becomes med resistant. My brain begins to tolerate stimulants much sooner than it would if I were, say, neurotypical🤷♀️. It honestly sucks, for lack of a more profound adjective lol. I've HAD to find creative new coping strategies to help me adjust to this new state of being. Thank God for all my previous years of impactful work with therapists, cuz I've definitely been tapping into that mental resource for this, and it's a tremendous help. ... but I really do miss the active luxe I once had, and I especially miss being able to drive. I had to hang up my car keys when I (thankfully) woke up and took ownership of the extreme risk it was to not just my life, but the potential danger to others. My sleep attacks have almost become aggressive over the last couple years.
It has been a few years since u asked my Dr about it (it was fairly new to the US market atm), so it certainly would hurt to ask again. Perhaps there's new research indicating that it is safe for me now🤷♀️.
Sorry for this lengthy msg btw, lol, I tend to get pretty chatty, the more sleep deprived that I become🙄😜😵💫
Thanks again for taking time to read all this🤗. I'm digging your channel, for sure!
@@aprilwills6777back in the 70s-80s i had an uncle who took desoxyn for narcolepsy and now that I am getting older I am getting symptoms similar to what he was having but I take opioids for chronic pain so very doubtful that I could take any type of stimulant and I can sleep for 12-15 hours straight and I am still feeling exhausted and sleepy, I know it is not the pain meds because I have been on them for over 10 years and these symptoms have been happening for maybe 2 years and I have not increased my pain meds this wanting to just sleep all the time and no energy sucks wish there was something that would help coffee just makes me feel crappy and still want to sleep
Highly recommendable channel for professional quality factual unbiased interesting educational & entertaining content, unfortunately the reason there's massive illegal drug consumption & addiction is our governments do very little to provide educational anti illegal drug information for youths that would be very helpful to reduce the use of illegal drugs, the lack of focus on rehabilitation, detox centres to help individuals to overcome the very powerful processes of addiction that keep many chained to the habit,if there was more willingness to produce informative detailed research & information by the government there would be a drastic reduction to illegal drug use
Thank you for your feedback 🙏🏻. Yes education can do more
I am prescribed methamphetamine hcl (generic Desoxyn) by my psychiatrist. I absolutely cannot find one single pharmacy to fill it. It's so frustrating. I live in middle ga. If you can help me find a pharmacy or have any suggestions they would be appreciated. Thank you
They stopped selling those inhalers that we used to make bathtub speed out of.
Vicks? Or Something else
Another solution to my life long deppresion thats just out of reach because someone else knows better what helps me. And I slowly continue to die inside while they continue to save me from myself.
Without a doubt, it's clean, long lasting, seems easy on the body, without the intense crash and burn.
Well done
🙏🏼
I used to use Ds as we call them in the 80s yes ,it is better than any speed today.
Have they tried using Desoxyn to help people get off meth? Starting with a dose that is like the street drug and lowering the dose over time without letting the user know when the does goes down other than maybe letting them know they are at the half way mark. It really could not hurt and it would actually be better for them because of the poisons used to make it on the streets not to mention the risk of fentanyl.
Good question. There are no trials for this purpose although I will be doing a video on potential substitution therapy soon. The challenge is being able to implement it in the correct framework.
not a bas idea
We should get all this information and like FREE adults, decide for ourselves and not spend 20,000,000,000 a year on it and feed the ppl instead of putting shackles literally on them
Will a methocyclone or methoanticyclone help me have better focus at completing tasks and aid in controlling my severe over-emotionalism? Asking for a friend…
Relived my pain for 25: yrs...but its changed on the street
What would your opinion on using this to aid someone in the quitting of using illicit street crystal methamphetamine be, for someone who has absolutly no history of abuse with prescription drugs?
It’s not been studied but I believe that it could be used like a maintenance medication like methadone is used for opioid use disorder maybe desoxyn would like used for methamphetamine use disorder. I think it has good potential to be used for methamphetamine addiction. This is just my opinion.
Its quite possible but studies are needed before it is considered. Lisdexamphetamine has been studied for this purpose with some benefit.
@@thirdeyek5155 I totally agree,it would be very beneficial to help to reduce the unpleasant experience when detoxifying,to have a reduced dose to maintain energy levels to function daily would reduce high failure rates with addiction
When you have been diagnosed with addiction, you can forget getting medicine like this to make your life more manageable. I've never been addicted to any drug , have just been self medicating my entire life with alcohol then marijuana and then meth. I diagnosed myself with ADD because being on meth made me feel calm, helped immensely with my road rage, I just quit my psychiatrist because he is a DM 5 dumbass like every other mental. health doctor . Guess I'll stay home in bed until I've had enough of this misery and blowy brains out.
Qualitatively there is little difference, aside from dose, between Dexedrine, Adderall, Desoxyn, and street crystal meth (assuming high purity and no cuts).
On the other videos on stimulants and meth the comments suggest a significant variation in experiences - but yes it’s difficult to know at dose equivalence whether the differences are minimal. Pharmacologically though we do know that meth is more potent in terms of DA , 5HT release. But how this translates to response may differ
@PsychiatrySimplified I remember reading that Adderall had a small amount of methamphetamine and was pulled out so now it was just amphetamines
@@patrickday4206well your wrong
@johnbeil3581 wrong about what that it has amphetamines in it? Wrong that it used to? Dumb response to just say I'm wrong maybe you just meant morally? Hahaha
@@patrickday4206Adderall never had meth in it. It’s got different enantiomers of amphetamine and d-amphetamine.
The only effective ADHD medication that works for me
Wow they still prescribe desoxine Abbott pharmaceutical made it back in the day stuff was fantastic !
yep it was
Was it called Yellow Bird back in the day?
Were they Black Beauties. Those were delightful.
I think the dezoxin is what the legal name was. It was around the same time as Praludin (this isn't how it was spelled I don't think but how we pronounced it.) Quaaludes were still A thing so some 30-40 years ago. Life was certainly much nicer that many years ago. People and atmosphere was outstanding. (sorry Doc for getting off topic)
@@edie4321 those were killer too
Dr, I am prescribed Adderall. Ive tried stronger but my dr gives me Adderall not for adhd. But it helps my mood, sometimes it gives me energy and sometimes just slows my mind down . Ironically, doesnt make my heart race or any of that. I can't use cannabis because it makes my heart pound and get paranoid and feel sick. Adderall and other amphetamines dont do that though. I have ptsd, autism and bad anxiety ive had my whole life. I do take more than prescribed due to tolerance but I'm just trying to get through the day. How much is considered toi much adderall? Because i dont want to die overdose. I act normal on it. helpe me a lot though. Been on Adderall for 4 years now. . Tried Ritalin twice but prefer Adderall. Is it common to help anxiety -its hard to explain.
I really don't think the docters dont prescribe desoxin any more.
Yes it's very rare if at all
Curious to know your thoughts on the work and extensive research done by Dr. Carl Hart.
In what way? I generally look at overall research and apply it to clinical practice - here is an overview i wrote - psychscenehub.com/psychinsights/the-neuroscience-of-addiction-application-to-clinical-practice/
I struggle with depression. The only thing that helps me is meth . I have no choice ....moderation is key..God help us all...stay strong my sisters and brothers
, how many users for 14 years 36 years old it's been rough life
Also there's a pill called Phentermine synthetic methamphetamine
It does not have a methyl group - so not methamphetamine - That's used for weight loss - Duromine. Prescribed in primary care here
Had a gf show me a bottle of literal prescription meth after I told her I was prescribed Adderall for years ... Fuckin wild
Wow!
Had it NYC 1976 speeding in the city yes the best at the time
🔴the thing that really trips me out is the fact that this stimulant or any other is approved for weight loss/obesity all the way down to 6 yrs of age. I mean, cmon, everyone knows that treating obesity and weight loss by being stimulated is the wrong way to go about it because once you stop taking it the Hunger comes back with rage! Not only that but because the feel good effects are no longer there youll eat more to "feel good" in general. Meth shouldnt be approved for weight loss at all.
I understand where you are coming from. Ultimately it’s a risk benefit analysis and this is prescribed in rarer circumstances ( one hopes) - where the benefits outweigh the risks . For weight loss it is a short term treatment.
But a treatment that works effectively, no doubt.
I done Desox back in the late 70's it was good.... I got first off 30 cooking for 2 days on the lamp, up for 2 days wide open....but found that drugs r bad. but they was fun
I was told meds like rittlin and addetal are lesser versions of meth too. Is this true?
Have a listen to the other video on the difference between amphetamine and methamphetamine Breaking Bad: 5 Crucial Differences between Amphetamine vs. Methamphetamine | Exploring the Impact

And there is another video on difference between Dexamphetamine and Ritalin ( methylphenidate)
@@PsychiatrySimplified thank you so much. I've been a recovering addict sober for the last 4 years and I've strongly felt my addictions started when I was forced to the strongest daily dose of rittlin on day one when I was 7 and was immediately taken off at the age of 14 when my mom found out kids were having heart issues and everything felt like it went downhill even further. It would be great to learn more about this so thank you for making these videos. It means alot to me.
I'm a recovering meth addict. I've been recovering since 2006. Although my asthma problems were never a problem while I was doing ice. Now that I'm sober I have a lot of asthma problems my drug addiction started when I was in grade school when I was given Ritalin for attention deficit hypertension disorder
So sorry to hear. Was this IR ? And did it start after it stopped or while ?
@@PsychiatrySimplified I've had asthma all my life since I was a little kid. Although now it's turned into emphysema
Sorry I meant addiction. Asthma / allergies are usually highly comorbid with ADHD and dopaminergic potentiators like stimulants can usually reduce the frequency of attacks or treat it . Dopamine is anti-inflammatory.
I was given cylert as a kid awful terrible thing caused lifelong insomnia. I've taken Adderall on and off it helps my adhd i have zero desire to take it i can suddenly stop after years just makes me depressed for awhile. I like being able to function better but don't like the side effects.
If the side effects are activating side effects r.g anxiety, insomnia then consideration of agents such as clonidine can make a difference. See the videos on ADHD is not all stimulants and videos on clonidine and Guanfacine
I think they probably don't make it with all the chemicals and nasty stuff like the bad kind. People like me who have chronic fatigue this actually might help
One doesn't need desoxyn for CFS as other stimulants can be used. Please have a look at the range of videos I've done on CFS / Long covid etc
Vivance is good too
He’s not responding to the chemo what do we do now doctor? Try mixing in some crystal
:sorry to hear . Answer is no however as The information related to chemotherapy is at research preclinical stages only. There is currently no evidence for this approach. Please discuss any clinical aspects with the doctor. The information on this channel is educational only and should not be used to make clinical decisions
Vyvanse is no joke. I had a seizure the very 1st time I took it. I didn't even know I had epilepsy. Now it's become a daily struggle. No thanks l.
So sorry to hear . You didn’t have a family history or a previous history of seizures ?
@PsychiatrySimplified I was adopted, so I'm not too sure about my background. I was in my 30s when this happened, with 0 seizure experience.
I think it would be a good idea to require physicians to experience addiction and overcoming that addiction before they are allowed to prescribe that drug to any patients if it is classified as an addictive drug. For sure would make them think on another level before prescribing them willy nilly without much concern about the addictive side of the coin. You can study addiction in med school but will never understand it without experiencing it yourself
In one way yes - as doctors its difficult to experience the true extent of it and hence we try to learn through patients but yes it won’t be the same
Don't worry Dr psychiatrysimplified has tested the product in the name of scientific exploration to advance mankind, very honourable
JFK, one of America's best presidents was using a prescribed amount of meth while in office
Oh really! I know he had addison’s disease.
@@PsychiatrySimplified Yeah, I believe that's what Dr Feel-good used it for. JFK didn't know it was meth at first. Drunk History did a hilarious episode on it.
I’ll check it out
Duromine wouldn't be any different?
I was prescribed this and the generic is called methamphetamine so that is what my pill bottle read and dosoxyn is sold in 10mg white round pills I was on 60mg per day
Wow that’s a high dose. How did you find It? If you don’t mind sharing
@@PsychiatrySimplified 60mg per day is not unheard of for narcolepsy.
Could you please tell me the difference between meth and Adderall are because doctors and a lot of them like to say that it is not an amphetamine but it literally says it right on the side of the pill, M.amphetamine
Here is a video where I cover this - they are not the same ruclips.net/video/LZOxU7wUQDE/видео.html
They prescribe it for narcolepsy also.
How do I get prescription? I asked my Dr and they said they can’t prescribe it. ???
Probably needs to be a psychiatrist
Desoxyn is rarely prescribed because it’s not profitable for big pharma. Adderall is a big seller
That's because they don't want to
the problem is trying to convince your DR to prescribe it ..reply if you live in central florida and know a good doctor im tired of getting no results from adderall
When one says ‘results’ one has to be clear about what that means. Please see the latest video on when stimulants don’t work. If one is looking for the ‘boost’ this is something that will always desensitise which means it can be evaluated as the medication not doing much . ADHD treatment and stimulants are meant to improve cognition and activity with better impulse and emotional control. It’s not about feeling but rather a move towards optimum functioning. Hope that helps. But I cover it in the latest video
What if I told you that good decision making is scheduled to be made illegal
Yes I really trust a Dr with a RUclips channel .
Best to evaluate the content 😃. But here is more ‘professional’ education if you are looking for that academy.psychscene.com
@PsychiatrySimplified You're doing a great job. RUclips is full of skepticism, just watch an astronomy video, there will be people in the comments vehemently claiming everything said is wrong and the earth is flat...
How Dow you approach a dr for it
Its not commonly prescribed. There are very specific indications and only in the US
So if you have ADHD, and Obesity, and allready take Adderall. I only have limited benefits from Adderall. Shouldnt this be an option for me?
How do you take this seriously with breaking bad references every 40 seconds
There are two max ?
What about trading bipolar disorders in schizophrenic
OMG and now I just heard you say that it's okay to give it to children as long as they're over 12 years old. It doesn't matter how much the doses they're going to get addicted to it. And then they will just get it on the streets because then they're going to up the dose and up the dose and they're just going to be like every other meth head. And I am speaking from experience I have been there I've done that and you don't know what you're talking about.
I didn't say its ok to give - its FDA approved - doesnt mean its given routinely if at all
Ive been saying for years that meth should be more studied for medicinal use. I believe we are all made so differently that it affects each person differently according to how their body metabolizes chemicals, vitamins, nutrition, fats, etc. What i am trying to say is for example, we all have that one friend who can eat cake all day and not get fat and the other friend who eats one piece and gains 5 lbs. Ive watched a group of people smoke thr same stuff out of the same pipe and each one act so differently from the person next to them. Some "tweak", some "geek", and some actually relax and act "normal". Not all meth addicts are out there stealing, dealing, squealing. Some have full time jobs and are very productive people. Nice, generous, intelligent. Without it, they cant get out of bed, very anti social, depressed, suicidal. Now with street meth, you dont know what you are getting. Especially with fentinynal being mixed in. Its a roll of the dice. I believe this definitely should be more looked into, more studied, and more prescribed.
