    • @justanotherhappyhumanist8832
      @justanotherhappyhumanist8832 3 года назад +37

      @@merledaniel673 He's right though - being ethical is good for business. The world's biggest businesses are investing enormous sums to find out how they can become more ethical. Studies have shown that younger people (millennials and Gen X) are more likely to invest in businesses that share their values, and current generations are more preoccupied with buying products from ethical companies than generations have been in the past. That's why companies like Nike and H&M are coming out with statements that they aren't buying Xinjiang cotton because of the Uygur concentration camps (even though they've lost Chinese clients as a result), why oil companies like Shell have based their advertising around their charitable contributions, and why companies like Gillette and Pepsi have based their advertising around "woke" ideals (even though they've pissed some people off by doing so) - all these companies know that any negative effects or losses that may be caused to their company by their actions are completely negated by the huge amount of people who will be drawn to them precisely because of their attempts to appear more ethical.
      And this isn't just true for large corporations, either - smaller businesses have also been able to boost profits by being more ethical (or lose them by standing for unethical things, like refusing to bake cakes for gay marriages).

      The scam is the existence of "legal tender" and fractional reserve lending, leveraged further by central banks that monetize the debt through inflation. Bad money chases out the good, leaving the general public with a depreciating stacks of bank notes with all the real wealth concentrated in the hands of the few. What we need is better money and the decentralization of capital so it's not all controlled by a small group of investors.
