  • Hi Guys, First order of business - about 10 minutes after filming this - the director of the Blair Witch Project called me to ask for his camera mount back... So my apologies the video footage is a bit shakey. None the less hope you enjoy this passanger ride while I take a set of wheels to the powder coater. I'll be talking about my own (and other peoples) disastrous restoration projects, L322 values (this does not constitute financial advice - you should speak to your wife for that) and asking you for your views on what you want to see next!
All feedback more than welcome - and if any of you have a recommendation for a decent camera mount for inside the car shout up! the £2 amazon special sure did show its limitations today!
For those of you that want to pay Andy at AWB powder coating a visit: awbpowdercoati...

I've had two 3.6tdv8s and have been toying with getting a 4.4 tdv8. Like your blue one😂
With insurance issues I won't be looking at L405s unless they really tank in value but I feel the l322 4.4 would be the last Range Rover I'll need

James. Would be good to see a video from you on what the best choice accessories for the l322 are. Your advice to me has been invaluable in terms of things like boot liners, dog guards, tow hitches, you have already done one on tyres but a recap on that too. Diagnostic tools! Bluetooth music relays, the invery offering be a great one.

@jamesa5980 to be fair there's still plenty of extras that arnt standard on autobiography either

@jamesa5980 my l322 4.4 tdv8 auto has no tow bar and it has the autobiography bodykit. Most don't have the bodykit it's quite rare. But I'm not sure how I get a tow bar fitted because it looks impossible

Interesting video. I've always been a fan of the range rover classic. I think it's a design icon.
I bought a 2008 4.2sc at the tail end of last year off the back of "that" Clarkson and Metcalf video.
Personally, I think that these cars will be priced off the road in the name of climate issues. By that I mean that they will be made too expensive to tax and insure. So I wanted to experience it before it was too late.
I probably paid 2k too much for my model and I've just put 3k into it in defered maintenance but I think I now have a sorted car that I can enjoy.

Hi James, I would like to see a comparison a kind of pros and cons between buying a petrol variant of the L322 against the diesel, not only focusing on the mpg Lol . Good contact BTW, a newly discovered channel for me

Hi James what about a comparison between a L322 and L405. Pro's and Con's. What you're looking for on sales/buying etc You're beginning to get both models into crossover price wise.
I imagine you might be drifting into sales of the L405 in the future?

I know exactly what place you're talking about in Banbury. I was looking at their vehicles and wondering if they get those prices as well.
Also not sure if it's suspicious or not that nearly every vehicle has very low mileage... 🤔

I’m starting to look to replace my temporary daily which is a Saab 95 which has been a good car but I do require a 4x4 in my area and for some aspects of my work. I’m considering a 405 Range Rover around a 2017, but a left ball idea also considering a pre 2016 Defender 110, bur likely need to do a lot of work to. Ring it to a standard. But realistically I think the Range Rover may be the best option. I’ve owned 2 l322 a 4.4 tdv8 2011 which I loved and was one of the most reliable cars I’ve owned, then a 2007 supercharged witch was good but the gearbox blew up a two months after getting her but I put that down to lack of service due to was full LR DEALER history of the one owner I had the gear box serviced on week 3 of ownership on a car that’s done 150k. But it’s one of those things and lessons learned. So I’m looking know at 50-80k 405 4.4 d v8. I’m also considering bmw x5 and some of the other competition. But I’m obviously leaning back to LR.

405 is a great car - and I think the market has corrected nicely - you pick them up for sensible money. Just make sure you can insure it for a reasonable price before buying one. Personally I couldn’t live with a pre 2016 defender as a daily. It would drive me absolutely mad! 😂
