    very well explained! I just have a question. When I reactivate the symmetry on the curve, it doesn't function properly. It appears as though there are two curves, even though I have already deleted the curve guideline. One of the cursors moves over where the mesh of the second curve should be if it existed.
    If it's not possible to get the symmetry to work, I would like to convert the curve into a regular mesh so that the curve lines disappear completely. Could someone please help me with this?

    • @SeanForsythTutorials
      @SeanForsythTutorials  Год назад

      Yeah, if you are symmetry often the curves don't react as well as they should. In fact, if you darg from the model onto the canvas and hold down Shift while doing it, in theory it creates a loop around the shape, but if symmetry is on, it will create two loops sitting directly on top of each other as it's not smart enough to turn one off. Bascially try it without symmetry. As for converting the curve into a regular mesh, it should already be one, so I'm not sure I understand what you're asking for here. Draw out your curve using whatever curve brush you are using (CurveTube for example), and when you're finished your stroke, the curve will be there as geometry, with the geometry you drew it onto fully masked out. To separate it into it's own subtool, just go to Tools, Subdiv menu, Split rollup, and use Split Unmasked Points. Hope this helps! If not, feel free to send me an image or something by sending an email to the address in the About page of this channel.

    • @SeanForsythTutorials
      @SeanForsythTutorials  4 года назад +1

      Thanks! To push a polygroup along it's normals (thicken up or thin out), you can use the ZModeller brush. Hold down Spacebar over a polygon, and use Qmesh with the target set to Polygroup All. Then click on the polygon and hold down Shift while dragging. This will push your selection in or out (depending which way you drag). Let me know if this is unclear and maybe I can do a quick video of it.

      @SeanForsythTutorials  2 года назад +1

      @@Polynema Ah, was just about to reply to you now! Yep, the cursor is red when you're not hovering over the curve, so changing the size of the red cursor will make the curve bigger the next time you click on it. When you hover over the curve, it turns blue, and so changing the size of the cursor while it's blue means that's the size of the area you affect.

    How can I delete the created mesh based on the curve?

    • @SeanForsythTutorials
      @SeanForsythTutorials  3 года назад

      You'll need to separate it out from the mesh you drew it onto first. Either use Split Masked while it is still masked, or Split groups if you have unmasked it. Once it's in it's own subtool, then you can simply delete the subtool using the Delete button. Just let me know if any of that's unclear.

    A question whenever i try to change the curve size its moves size not changing are you pressing ant key or something while clicking it ?
    The moment I changes my brush size and click it should change the curve size as you show in video but not working on my case 😭

    • @SeanForsythTutorials
      @SeanForsythTutorials  Год назад

      I'm not pressing any special key or anything, the only thing to check is that the cursor is red when you hover over the curve before clicking, and that the black and red subsegments are still showing on your curve. If they aren't, it means that you already clicked somewhere else on the model, effectively "accepting" the curve and thereby removing it. You must change the size of your cursor while NOT hovering over the curve.

      So at the start when you first create your curve brush, you could have a star and another object beside each other in the same subtool, and then make that your brush. Or, depending on your geometry and where you want to place it, if you have two suitable edge loops, you could crease each of them and add a different curve brush to each crease.

To control the size, just change the size ("S" shortcut key) to the size you want before clicking. If you are inserting multiple meshes, click, then hold down CTRL and every object you add will be the same size as the red circle.

    hi there sean, im having a problem controling the tilt of the curve, i dont know if its a bug of the latest version, it does seem like one though, so im trying to tilt the whole loop made with a IMM that follows a curve but the end of the curve doesnt want to tilt, now, i do get this exact effect with the start of the curve if i have "lock start" active but im getting this with the end point without "lock end" being active. So the effect is the whole curve spins like i want but the end of the curve (happens on the loop too) wont tilt and the IMM mesh on that point stretches badly.
