Michael Jordan was the best player I've ever seen at creating space between himself and the defender to get a high percentage shot off. Simply incredible!!
MJ on the Interview: "I don't want to make it personal" MJ's thought in his head: "That's all I need for him to do that, and it became personal with me" "I was supposed to kill this guy, I'm supposed to dominate this guy and from that point on, I did."
Vernon Maxwell had played Jordan considerably well before retirement #1. But the Jordan during the 2nd 3-peat was a very different player. Had a little less athletic ability on a consistent basis but a much more methodical scorer. Maxwell should know better than to try to rile up Jordan and Pippen. Stackhouse, being a UNC alum, should've known the reputation of Jordan quite well and know better than to trash talk Jordan.
48 in 3 quarters of a blow out time exact. If the game was competitive or he played in the 4th it wouldn’t been a 60+ night for sure. And the difference with MJ’s big scoring nights like this, he effectively proved his point, and dominated scoring the ball like that all within the flow of the offense. He wasn’t ball hogging, he wasn’t bringing the ball up the court and dominating time of possession as chief decision-maker, facilitator, and scorer like modern stars. Michael never press the issue like modern stars that came after him, Kobe included. All his shit was in the flow of the triangle offense.
I remember watching this game on live TV. As a lifelong 76ers fan, this was an absolute disgrace for me to watch. 76ers just laid down to them. Just disgusting to watch
They didn't have much of a choice but to lay down. That Sixers squad was hard to watch, not as bad as the process years but bad. Watching Stackhouse fly by I'll never forget. I was wondering what the f*ck was he doing. Those Sixers teams between Barkley bring traded and AI arriving was tough especially all the Bulls front runner fans in Philly.
I think this was the Stackhouse "I am the next Jordan rant" where MJ had to destroy him to show him there will never ever be another MJ.
It was. It also featured Vernon Maxwell (#11) who MJ despised. Karma.
Whenever Michael said the words "...and I took that personally." you knew it was going to end very badly for the other guy!
@@leeh9420Who didn’t hate Maxwell?
The Pip block, with the MJ trey is an all-timer. Also, the Stack flyby into the first row-unreal.
This 95-96 Bulls team was a class act. A very well oiled machine with a 72-10 record and championship to show for it. Incredibly entertaining.
well, 87-13 record + title

Whoa! Rex Walters was still in the Association. Good for him.
