Excellent description of errors and fixes ! Best troubleshooting video for Reverb G2 ! Keep up the great work ! Thank you for your time you have invested to make this video !
I had the 7-14 error with my X570 motherboard, but I resolved it by plugging the USB C cable into the USB C port on the back of my RTX2070 Super and it works just fine now. Also I'm using the 456.71 Nvidia driver and have experienced no problems with stuttering. I'm very happy with the way my Reverb G2 is performing now and I definitely won't be sending it back.
Many thanks, I had been on hold with HP for 2 hours trying to get a RMA for what I thought was a dead G2 that had arrived a few hours earlier. I watched this video again and noticed where the dot was when you plugged in the USB cable to the headset. Mine wasn't that far in even thou I had used considerable force. I worked with it some more and finally got it all the way in, now the G2 works. Really poor design on HP's part.
One of the best 'anti-frustration' guides I have seen on this headset! Only one of my 10 USB ports worked, very frustrating when you buy a new gadget. Any, no way I was going to get an Oculus anyway. Oh and I subscribed :)
Thanks for this Video, sadly the VR-headsets seem still a bit finicky to integrate into individual systems ... like the printers were in the long forgotten times ... but maybe like that it'll get better :D
I found that you need some patience when using the type c usb connection. It took some time but finally my headset was recognized without using the USB adapter.
Excellent video. Here we are almost a year after this video and HP has updated the G2 to V2, new facial interface, new cable and supposedly 30% better controller tracking. I just got my G2 from the Black Friday sale, and luckily it was the V2 (in Canada), The one thing I really like about the new cable is when I kill the USB-3 port (same Sabrent powered USB hub that you shown in the video) it also kill the power to the electronics box (little white LED goes out), this is handy. Also the new facial interface is quite nice, can get your eyes quite a bit closer to the lenses. As for the stuttering with nVidia cards, chances are you can clear that up by deleting the Shader Cache folder, just search on how to do this, it's a pain in the butt process, I'm surprised nVidia doesn't have a option to do that from the control panel (AMD Adrenaline software does for Radeon cards). I have a full AMD system with a X570 based mother board, the new cable seems to fix the problems with the old cable and unstable connections with the G2. My system is a 5600X cpu with a 6900XT gpu, it runs very well for VR but for Sim Racing, I have to drop the per game SteamVR SS to roughly 80% (I was using 150% with my Index) otherwise, any higher than that, it starts to stutter and can't maintain 90 fps (Sim Racing and flight sim titles are pigs on system resources). I love the visuals and the comfort of the G2 but that's about it, I really don't like the controllers (no capacitive touch) and am no fan of the WMR part either. If HP would have made the G2 a lighthouse tracked headset, it would be amazing on all fronts.
You should be paid by HP because you avoid hundreds and hundreds of customers to call/contact the HP support by your excellent video! HP!: send something to that guy! Money or something else, maybe your future Reverb G3? Really!
@@alexandrerossi3553 Yea no more room flipping, audio glitching or random crashes. You would have thought all the power from the wall would have solved the power problem but nope they underengineered it so we still need decent power through USB. This is the only expansion card that I could find that delivered 2 Amps instead of of the 0.9 Amps most other cards have.
For people experiencing crashes in medal of honor. I had to do a file integrity check inside steam and that downloaded a additional 60 gigs. Only had a issue opening steam VR overlay while running the game but kinda surprises me it works ever since. I'm running the g2 on a asus strix 3080 OC. Let me know if this worked for you!
I agree. The integrity check does help, but you also need the right GPU driver installed. 461.09 works fine, but we did have issues with older NVIDIA drivers. Thanks for the post though Wayne, much appreciated.
I had trouble my Asus X570 Crosshair VIII, switched everything to pcie3 and used a powered usb hub and worked first time. Gonna switch it back one by one now until it stops working again
Excellent guide. I found this video after watching your review of the G2, also excellent. Now subscribed. My G2 arrived yesterday. Error 4.1 and unfortunately nothing is solving this problem. I found the cable to the headset extremely tight but definitely in. Usb tree viewer showed it as being connected to a 2.1 hub rather than a usb 3 hub. Tried 2 different C ports and all the usb3 A ports on my Z490-E Gaming motherboard. HP support are sending out another cable to me but I'm left wondering if perhaps I should have opted for a Quest 2 instead.
The steam vr settings you showed are two different things. The 1st one you showed Is the "individual eye resolution". The 2nd one under the advanced settings under video settings in each game is the the "resolution multiplier" I found the best results by doing this - Use open XR and set resolution to 50% Steam individual Eye resolution to 200-300% In game resolution multiplier to 50% This delivers crystal clear visuals in DCS and MSFS etc. Rtx3080 - i9-10850K- 32GB 3600mhz
Yes, there can be different resolutions, but this solely depends on the game, and are set via the 'Video' option and choosing 'Per Application Video Settings'..... otherwise within 'General' leave it set at 100% or 'Auto'. --- ruclips.net/video/HOFILSRkN9M/видео.html
I have an Zephyrus Duo 15SE with an Ryzen 5900HX RTX3070. This headset won't connect at all. The Index and Quest 2 work fine, but the Reverb G2 fails and gives 1-4 error. Thi is an expensive promoted gaming laptop with only one usb-c with buildin Displayport 1.4 . Two adapters should solve this the connections. I am thinking of replacing the current Display adapter, this one is mayby only 1.2 on 4k 6hz not sure, mayby an full adapter for 1.4 does the trick?
Also its better to go to task manger and look at your start up programs and disable them from starting up in the first place that way you don't waste any memory
At the moment I have problems with some of the steamVR environments. For example I downloaded the half life alyx environment in steamVR home and when I enter it, all textures are VERY low resolution and when I look at them, they sometimes change from very low to low textures and back. I use a 1080 and have no problems with fps. Other games also work fine. And there is another problem with my controllers. Sometimes they start to shake even though I hold them completely still or they just vanish with the USB plug and play sound and come back a few seconds later. It's not the light in my room. Maybe the WIFI or the bluetooth. I have no clue :(
What if I'm trying to run it on a gaming laptop that doesn't have a Displayport plug and I've tried every adapter reccomend online and still only have one lens working? What should I do then?
Only issue I have is the blurr on lens edges. I like to move my eyes more then head. Big screens were pretty bad bcos of blurr. Did I set it up wrong or is it normal to be clear in the centre and blurr at edge like peripheral vision?
I have a problem whereby the headset movement is inverted. By that I mean the VR camera moves the opposite way than it is supposed to. It seemed to appear after I installed the mixed reality application in steam so I could use reprojection to lower the frame rate overhead. I get a smooth 45fps (looks like 90fps) but in driving games moving the headset forward doesn’t make my head closer to the wheel like it should. Moving left to right from the hips/shoulders has the same problem, it’s inverted. However rotating my head is still correct. Any idea how to fix that one?
Sometimes I've noticed for connectivity issues... I have to restart my computer in order for it to connect. If that doesn't work unplug the headset and the power to the dongle, re-plug everything back and restart.
We had that issue also. If it persists, unplug headset from your PC. Uninstall Mixed Reality Portal - reboot PC and re-install MRP. Not forgetting to replug your headset back in. Let us know if that fixed the issue.
MSFS 2020: Anyone experiencing that the brightness goes Way down once in a while in flight (and only in Flight ). It starts out with clarity for a few seconds and then turn darker. Returning to Cliff House everything is normal again
Someone posted that the usb-c to usb connector you get with the g2 is not great so this could possibly be an issue for some.my g2 works on usb-c but doesnt work on any usb ports, tried all things mentioned online, going to try a new adaptor
none of the usb C ports work either on my setup, even with the usb expansion card, WMR still doesn't see usb 3.0s; at this point i'm about to ask for a refund because this is bullshit to the nnth degree, for this price i expected better
Had an issue where the Headset just wouldnt turn on. Installing a new USB-C PCIE card with sata power connection and downgrading to raid gen 3 on the motherboard fixed this.
By not turn on you mean no lit HP logo on the headset? My Reverb came with the v2 cable from new and it worked great from day one. Life got in the way over the summer and when I power up again this week the pc doesn’t recognize the headset anymore. No errors short of an occasional USB timeout when I move it around. The cable box light is on, the HP light on the headset is not. No usb connection sound. Reseated cable at each end, updated windows, tried different gfx/usb ports, tried different PC. Did it just die in its sleep?
I would like to find out if it is normal using the G2 with MSFS flying the Cessna Longitude that when the G2 is enabled the magenta route line disappears from both maps as well as the Glide Path of RNAV will not lock in and the Diamond on the G1000 by the speed tape has disappeared. Without the G2 enabled everything functions as it should.
Stephen Johnson Do you get a light on the USB power adapter only when it's plugged into the USB/Video port or does it light up unplugged from the PC and only plugged into the wall/power outlet.
Thank you for the video! My issue is that WMR doesn't see the headset at all. I have the G2V1 with the new cable. I ordered the new cable in an attempt to solve this problem. I'm running on W11 with an RTX 3080TI. My Mobo is a Micro-Star Pro Z690-A. I'm completely stuck on how to resolve this issue.
I'm having an issue where moving the controllers fast while in a game makes SteamVR crash. The headset will also sometimes lose tracking and the world will spin around in circles before the crash. I've tried making the lighting in my room brighter and all of the USB ports on my motherboard and nothing has helped. Anyone know what's causing this? Edit: It was the fpsVR overlay. Turned it off and no more issues. I would guess that other overlays will cause the same problem, so if you're using a VR app with an overlay and having crashing issues it's worth turning it off to see if it's the cause.
To work properly, you'll mainly need a high spec GPU and an integrated USB 3 port. Check to make sure the headset is fully inserted into the headset and PC and your USB drivers and Windows is up-to-date.
Hi VROneUK, thanks a lot for your video. Since the second day of use, I have a black/Yellow stain visible on the top left of the field of view. Do you know if this issue has already been reported ?
Hmmm, never heard or seen that before. Check the lens is clean. If you are using Lens covers instead of glasses, make sure there's no fluff caught-up in the corner of the frame.
You know where you plug in the little right angle cable and you get a little white light? Mine has gone off, so no power to the headset? Has ANYBODY had the same problem? The first heaset was sent back to Germany for repair after 2 months at cost (I'm in the UK), but has been replaced and its happened again. HELP if possible PLEASE!! I asked them straight when they repaired the item WHAT was the fault? I was desperate that it didn't happen a second time, they told me nothing. I've just looked at your final error section about unplugging the power if your not going to use it. I didn't know that that's what they recommended?! like you say, getting down on your hands and knees every time you want to use it is a bit of a drag, but mine is knackered again, I'm in despair. If the unplugging thing was a recomendation, why was I not told, and if you don't unplug, is it going to break!! I feel like crying. Russ
I may have just lost power. Try another USB port, one at the back of the PC, ideally a USB 3 port (blue or red coloured). Don't forget to update your USB drivers and re-boot the PC.
In Death! No volume in headset again? any ideas please. Also, is there a way to get windows/Steam to recognise the heatset as a HP Reverb, or am I stuck with it being an Oculus heaset?
@@VROneUK Thanks for coming back to me. It wasn't a nil sound issue, more an in game issue fixed by going to - the three line button on the controller which gives you a menu - sound, toggleing between oculous headset and speakers if memory serves
Any adjustment I do my track IR and monitor still better graphics than hp reverb g2. I don't see any crisp on my VR and I've been working on it for weeks and weeks. I've been following many RUclipsrs and tweaking numbers here and there but with no success. my system is AMD RYzen 9 3900x 12- Core 3.80GHz 32.0 GB of RAM windows version 20h2 and GPU of 2080 super. thanks for any suggestions.
Hi Joe, Are you simply saying the graphics on the Reverb G2 aren't clear and crisp? You running it at 90Hz and resolution per eye at 100%? Regards, MAP
Another great video! I had no issues with my HP G2 until after this weeks MSFS 2020 update. Now, after getting my flight ready and enabling VR mode, the monitor starts flickering and it takes me back to the Mixed Reality Home Screen. I did a clean install for mixed reality and open XR from the MS store, updated Windows 10, in addition to some of the fixes that you recommended with no luck. Any other suggestions? Thanks
This normally would be down to GPU driver, having said that, if you didn't update it, then I don't know what happened. Check the update log for the MSFS 2020 update to see what changed.
I'm really disappointed with my g2..I get a weird binocular overlay in the headset and have had to use black tape on the outer part of each lense to get rid of it which severely reduces fov. Really wish I could have tried it before I bought it
Best clarity, resolution & has the following issues: 1.The cable heats a lot in the area where the VR is attached 2.The software windows mixed reality & steam VR which causes too many overlays overloading the GPU causing much-reduced performance than having a single software 3.The joysticks are not comfortable compared to the Oculus ones 4.The Pupillary Distance PD is limited to 68, which is not the standard size for north European men at least for me, it should be 70 & 5.Because of the software halts a lot. Do I regret having it Yes & No
Hi Rithman, Damn right! We bought 3 of the damn things for our gaming rigs. I've expressed my concerns with NVIDIA about this...and still battling it out. What sort of issues are really bugging you... Stuttering?
ok so i have a interessting one for you. i just got my hp reverb today. connected as per instruction. it booted fine. drivers installed and 5 minutes later i was happily flying along in msfs2020. working great. half an hour later. the thing goes black and now i cant get it to start again. i restarted my pc. unplugged the usb port, display cable and power adapter. repeated the connection as per the first time i did it and nothing is happening anymore. one thing i noticed is that the blue LED on the cablebox isnt lighting up anymore. any ideas? i get the impression something in the little box is shorted. because i wasnt doing anything crazy when it stopped. i was just sitting in my chair flying around.
We had the same problem here. I will have to ask Chez (our techi) tomorrow to find out what he did to fix it. I think the first issue we had with black screen had something to do with the headset speakers, and we just tightened the screws... then again you say you have no light on the power box, so certainly sounds like the USB port isn't providing enough power (or none at all). Try another USB port and make sure your USB drivers are up-to date. You can even try removing the USB drivers and re-installing them. If you do, don't forget to restart your PC. Let us know how you get on Daan. Pedro
@@VROneUK i know whats wrong. ruclips.net/video/9fjLzyKabxw/видео.html . TJRSim had the same problem i had. The light on the breakout box doesnt light up when i connect power. it should be lit even when USB isnt connected. So i'm pretty sure my cable is the problem. i have contacted my supplier to see if they can send me a new one.
I wasn't able to play alot of games because of stutter on my 2080ti I turned off Hardware accelerated gpu scheduling and fixed my issue can now play medal of honor smoothly
I recently purchased a 6800xt but now my refresh rate is locked at 60hz. Even though WMR and SteamVR show 90hz as the setting but in FPSVr I am locked to 60fps. Any Ideas? I rebooted, did clean driver installs, physically unplugged everything and disabled/enabled th g2 in device manager. No luck. Please Help!
I updated to from 1909 to 20H2 and found that VR stuttered in games and performance dropped by 20%. I noticed that windows had changed my NVIDIA drivers from 456.71 to a more recent version. I tried to roll back to 456.71 using ddu but a got an error message about incompatibility with this version of the driver!. So in the end I rolled back windows to 1909 and installed 456.71, hey presto performance restored. I have since read that the error message about incompatibility is a glitch and is probably fixable. With 1909 going end of support next month, I am preparing to move to 20H2 and having to battle with the dreaded incompatibility message. I see NVIDIA still have not produced a decent driver for the 3000 cards and VR, they mention not using any tools that may interact with the card (FPS checking). Anyone else with this issue?
@@VROneUK the issue is deeper. More like a driver bug. If I start wmr portal, the sound is there, but when I start steamVR or oculus, it will switch off randomly, and I have to restart by re-plugging the power to the headset. If I start steamVR directly, as it started doing now I connect the index controllers with the headset, it never works. I mean, I looking for an easier fix.
@@VROneUK yup. I should lower the volumes next time I try it. People had similar problems with index earphones, and one of the tricks to solve it was to switch speakers from left to right. Didn’t work in my case. Or cleaning the earphone connectors. Even Thomas at voodoo.de was looking for a solution for this problem
I have 2080ti and im having terrible stutter in some games,i dialled back to another driver has helped a bit but still some issues.funny enough i had no problems when i first got g2 so maybe a conflict between nvidia and steamvr updates
Yes, I agree. There is a common issue when in SteamVR home, where there's major stutter, including some games. We fixed the issues we previously had with stuttering, but we still need to upload a video, as there are many settings that need to be changed... OpenXR, NVIDIA control panel etc... etc.
Hey there, anyone who can help out debugging G2 V2 issue? I had it for ~2 months and it worked perfectly until now. Suddenly it just can't get detected by Windows, and white HP logo on the headset doesn't light up. Oddly, Windows still makes a standard sound when I plug it into USB, just like for any other USB device. I triple checked all cable connections, and they're solid.
dude be lucky i just recived my g2 yesterday and only two ports on my computer power the headset but once the headset is powered the whole computer crashes
i found mine woudnt work on any of the MB USB ports only on the case front ports. might be cause its an X570 PCIe 4. I found mine works fine on the GTX 1080TI with all the drivers. it struggled on the RTX 2080TI though. But then i found the RTX 2080TI struggled on nearly all my games and the 1050TI worked better than the RTX 2080TI did. The rift CV1 and rift S worked fine on the GTX 1050TI but it wasnt powerfull enough for the G2 so got an RTX 2080TI but ended up getting rid of it and getting the GTX 1080TI instead as i found the 2080TI not very good at anything.only reason to get the RTX GPU is if ur going to be playing games that use ray tracing or DLSS as the 1080TI still has more power than most games need. Think my G2 has a fault but trying to work out where the fault it. it looks like it might be the cable. im getting white lines going across the screen then it goes black and have to fiddle around with the cable to get the screen back again. also noticed it getting very hot around the connector that plus into the HMD just before the screen goes off. its not even 6 months old yet and its playing up. Think ive got the later model cause the cable clip is a lot more sturdy and doesnt break. they did change it when they had reports about it breaking and put a stronger 1 on. I took the headphones off mine as i dont use them anyway and it made it lighter and more comfortable to wear. with them on i was getting really bad paiins on my head after about 15 mins of using it. took them off now no more pain. As my PC is connected to a dolby atmos audio video reciver i play sound through that instead. Used to get 90FPS in the 2 games i play but after they added more content and an update im now only getting 45FPS. U might have to uninstall the VR apps like windows mixed reality steam VR and all the other apps now and then as they tend to go wrong after windows do updates. but that might just be windows 11 as ive had a few probs since i got windows 11 in VR. might be cause win 11 doesnt use BIOS it uses UEFI and wont work with MBR it has to be GBT and have secure boot turned on.
Looking for anyone who can help. My reverb g2 is disconnecting my pc from the internet every time I turn it on. Let me give you some background. I had the Reverb G2 and loved it. But I wanted to go outside and play a archery game called In Death. So I bought the Oculus 2 and connected it to my computer and played for 2 days before I decided I didn't like some of the things about the Oculus. So I uninstalled it, reinstalled my Reverb and now when I start up WMR, my computer gets kicked from my wifi connection. I live in a motorhome and travel full time. And over the 6 months with the Reverb I never had this issue. Now my jet pack has two settings, one is 5.0 Ghz and the other is 2.4 Ghz and it WILL work on the 2.4 but not the 5.0. The problem with the 2.4 is I can't play and sim racing games with it. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated from anyone who knows what might be causing this.
This headset no longer works at all, keeps saying USB not found after resetting my computer. Think it's the cable. Reality disappointed because this headset's clarity was top notch.
I’m sooooo in trouble with this The hardware I’m running on is brand new. AMD Ryzen 7 5800x Crosshair VIII Dark Hero 32GB TridentZ 3600CL14 Asus Strix RTX3090 Gaming OC I would say this should run all fine. It actually did a couple days ago and now the 13-14 error and I tried all I know. Even indeed added a PCI-E add-in USB card with 4 connections each having their own controller chip. I also set the slot to Gen 4. Nothing seem to help. I also found a forum talking about rolling back an older version of the HoloLensSensors driver. That didn’t even recognized the g2 anymore. If someone has an idea it would be highly appreciated
@@VROneUK seems it is getting worse day by day. Now I’m getting 1-8 all the time. By the way, made a typo last time, I meant saying i changed to gen 3 mode. @@VROneUK Well, what do you know. I pulled myself together to give it tonight another try. There were some updates for Windows and had again in the bios everything except my 2m.2 Gen4’s set back to gen 3. I also refit the plug in the headset itself...just in case What do you know...bang...it works again !!!! I’m going nuts of the poor quality the build and software of the Reverb is. This cost me 2 years of my life lol. I have to look into some of the reddit posts in regard to Steam VR hook into WMR as for example starting Star Wars squadrons will turn first the headset completely blue and then switches off. I had to reboot the PC to get it going again (was afraid it wouldn’t start again). DCS at the other hand had no issues. Elite Dangerous doesn’t start at all. At least now I know the headset is not dead itself.
If you tried other USB ports and it's still not working, you may have a faulty display cable. Also check USB ports for fluff/dust and blow out with air.
Yes, 2133 Mhz - although admittedly not ideal, however the other 2 machines use 3200 Mhz, achieving about 10-12 frames extra (desktop games), however in VR in VR it's not noticeable.

Thanks man 👍👍👍
Oh my god THANK YOU for this
Excellent guide.
You had any luck yet. Is it working?
The steam vr settings you showed are two different things.
The 1st one you showed Is the "individual eye resolution".
The 2nd one under the advanced settings under video settings in each game is the the "resolution multiplier"
I found the best results by doing this -
Use open XR and set resolution to 50%
Steam individual Eye resolution to 200-300%
In game resolution multiplier to 50%
This delivers crystal clear visuals in DCS and MSFS etc.
Rtx3080 - i9-10850K- 32GB 3600mhz
The individual resolution may be fine that high on 3080 but on anything less it needs to be set at 100% or you will have teriible frame rate
@@VROneUK thats true.really want a 3080 but cant get one, also itt doesnt have a usb-c port which is the way my g2 works
They really need to fix that auto start for MSWVR, tired of all the unwanted monitor flickering....
For the last one, just use an extension cord with a switch. No need to fiddle with the cable every time.
Very helpful. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Much appreciated feedback.

You're so welcome!
I'm having the same problem with my asus laptop. Have you found an adapter that works?
@@maxmaletin yes you need to buy an higher display port cable
@@allejong thank you! Do you have a link for a model that works for you?

Also its better to go to task manger and look at your start up programs and disable them from starting up in the first place that way you don't waste any memory
Good, valid point there Steve.
I have no clue :(
Mirrors? ... or something shiny...
@@VROneUK I found the solution for the Controller problem. It was the Bluetooth on my mobile phone.
Wonderful video. Thanks!

What if I'm trying to run it on a gaming laptop that doesn't have a Displayport plug and I've tried every adapter reccomend online and still only have one lens working? What should I do then?
Great job. Thanks a lot.
Only issue I have is the blurr on lens edges. I like to move my eyes more then head. Big screens were pretty bad bcos of blurr. Did I set it up wrong or is it normal to be clear in the centre and blurr at edge like peripheral vision?
i have a issue where my headset speaker audio is really low i have checked all of the windows sliders but nothing seems to work
Hello, I currently have a mixed reality error where I cannot get to the cliff house, It is stuck on the "getting things ready" screen in my headset
MSFS 2020:
Anyone experiencing that the brightness goes Way down once in a while in flight (and only in Flight ).

Hi mate, is there anyway I can route my gpu 3080 to my usbc if not done so in my Alienware laptop?
Someone posted that the usb-c to usb connector you get with the g2 is not great so this could possibly be an issue for some.my g2 works on usb-c but doesnt work on any usb ports, tried all things mentioned online, going to try a new adaptor
none of the usb C ports work either on my setup, even with the usb expansion card, WMR still doesn't see usb 3.0s; at this point i'm about to ask for a refund because this is bullshit to the nnth degree, for this price i expected better
@@spiral83 yeh it is irritating,i read that the issue is with the motherboard companys and they are releasing a bios update soon
I've been struggling for hours. It shouldn't be this hard! I still didn't get any results. I will return the product as soon as possible!

Do you get a light on the USB power adapter only when it's plugged into the USB/Video port or does it light up unplugged from the PC and only plugged into the wall/power outlet.
If you unplug the USB adapter from the USB port the power light on the splitter will go off.
My guess is that this is a USB issue. Try re-installing your USB drivers. See if that helps. Chez.
@@VROneUK I’ve tried that. No luck. I’m starting to think the headset is just dead.
@@TrentDyrsmid Try the headset on another PC to see if it lights up.

Love the detail on errors. I am still stuck in 7-14. What are all the requirements for the vr to work fully
Estimado, buenas noches. De tener alguno de estos errores no ha solicitado el cambio del Cable Usb, por la nueva version mejorada. saludos

Another great video! I had no issues with my HP G2 until after this weeks MSFS 2020 update. Now, after getting my flight ready and enabling VR mode, the monitor starts flickering and it takes me back to the Mixed Reality Home Screen. I did a clean install for mixed reality and open XR from the MS store, updated Windows 10, in addition to some of the fixes that you recommended with no luck. Any other suggestions? Thanks
This normally would be down to GPU driver, having said that, if you didn't update it, then I don't know what happened. Check the update log for the MSFS 2020 update to see what changed.
it is a shame that hp comes out such a low quality product they would have to withdraw it from the market a disaster
they've withdrawn it from the market?
Do I regret having it Yes & No
You thinking about buying the DecaGear 1? Maybe try and sell the Reverb G2.

Are you using a cable splitter? So Display port to HDMI?
I was looking for advice for what I can do about sound on left ear disappearing
Just unscrew it and clean the contacts. Careful when putting it back on. Making sure it’s the right way around. That should do it.
@@VROneUK the issue is deeper. More like a driver bug. If I start wmr portal, the sound is there, but when I start steamVR or oculus, it will switch off randomly, and I have to restart by re-plugging the power to the headset.
OpenXR, NVIDIA control panel etc... etc.

Im so lucky my X470 Gaming Pro Carbon's usb c has power delivery. (I think so at least bc it seems to work)
dude be lucky i just recived my g2 yesterday and only two ports on my computer power the headset but once the headset is powered the whole computer crashes
i found mine woudnt work on any of the MB USB ports only on the case front ports. might be cause its an X570 PCIe 4.
U might have to uninstall the VR apps like windows mixed reality steam VR and all the other apps now and then as they tend to go wrong after windows do updates. but that might just be windows 11 as ive had a few probs since i got windows 11 in VR. might be cause win 11 doesnt use BIOS it uses UEFI and wont work with MBR it has to be GBT and have secure boot turned on.
how to fix 4-1 ?
