Great video James! I was thinking about buying the g summit for some 6000 meter peaks in the Andes where there isn’t much snow due to the dry weather, would you recommend them or would it be better one of the other ones?
@@hostiledinosaur638 thank you! G2 evos are the safe option for 6000m peaks. The G summits may be OK but I'd hate to say without checking with local guides etc. Sorry I couldn't help more
@@SebastienDegardin the summit of mont Blanc temperatures can vary massively by the day. Even in summer. G TECH should be fine for most summers but G summit would be the safe option, especially if in spring. Also it allows you to do more high trips in the future.
@@HydronautInSpaceWell, I personally would rather go with one pair of semi-automatic for everything then - much more versatile that way. I can easily climb WI3 with my Aequilibrium Speed for example. But I would certainly not do a full day of hiking 20+km and 2500+hm with something like the Gtech…

thanks for fast reply! I am wondering about size. I tried G2 in 44 and was to small, and 45 is ok, but heel moves a little bit (in thick merino socs). Not sure if keep 45 in Olympus or go with 44,5 😭. Bare Feet size is 27,5cm. What do you suggest?
@@MaOcieK with a sock on your foot sounds like a 45. Also feet expand when at altitude and sore. More air space is warm too. Squashed toes are cold toes! For heel lift try and tounge depresser or volume reducer between the inner and outer boot under the laces/boa wire. This can help push you further into the heel and hold more securely. If coming to our shop we could fit you. Hope this helps and good luck!

Serious question, why are all of these types of boots so insanely narrow? Especially in the toe box? Any possibility of ever getting a more anatomical shape in the toebox?
@@joshl.1978 have your tried all these on? Never fitted old style la sportiva but g summit and g2 evo are definitely roomier then the older models. G tech is narrower for more precise fit. If still to narrow scarpa and boreal have more space
@@sentralsix there are loads of great ones to choose from, La sportiva Aequilibrium St if very poplar with, however if you need warmer the Scarpa mont Blanc is a solid work horse.

Just tried G-Summit for short hike and after 1 hour the boa system is killing my ankle. They are so narrow on the ankle and there is no way to loose the gaiter…
@@geshkin4 oh no, sorry to hear that. Most people seem to find them very comfortable. Out of interest was this with the inner booty on or off? Wonder if it adds some padding.

Just picked up a pair of the La sportiva G2 evo . Was so surprised how light these are for a size EU 44 . Pretty amazing comfortable double boot.
