This is such a simple, yet beautiful piece of music and so fitting for the end of this film. It speaks of an infinite sadness and sense of loss, its heartbreaking.
I recorded this film from the TV onto a video tape. I’ve no idea what happened to it though. I have since found the DVD after years of searching. My 3 grown up children still remember it. A beautiful film dubbed with the voice of Ray Brookes.
When I was young, I remembered the final scene of this film, featuring a planet surrounded by a rotating neon cube. It took me years to finally discover the title of the film. At first, thought it was a Japanese anime! Although, I couldn't recall the music, what a beauty. 🤩😍🥰
Me too my friend. I was haunted by this memory for years snd years. I just remembered the ending, how much it moved me as a child, and then for 35 years on… I would think of it, the haunting melody, the sadness, the sense of loss, the old man being shot out into space… but here we are… somehow we were both lucky enough to work out what the film was, and we’re revisiting the magic ⭐️ We’re so lucky to live in the days of RUclips.
This is the last song from the movie called "Les Maîtres du temps". This is a realisation by René Laloux in 1982. The drawings are by Moebius a major french artist. This one of the best french animation movie produced in the 1980's . You can retreive this spirit on the movie Gandahar produced in 1987. When i saw this movie i was a child. But in my heart it take a big place like any other. This song ils to me the spirit of sadness and nostalgia. thank you for this share.
I disagree on one point. This wasn't just one of the best French animation movies, it was one of the best *movies* of the 1980's. I find it very sad that more people have not been exposed to this work of art.
This being a French production, most crew in the credits were Hungarian. I believe the chief artist only made master drawings, all the rest was outsourced.
Loué au vidéo club en format cassette vhs ^^ quelle claque, j'étais pas prêt héhé, ça restera avec quelques autres l'un des meilleurs films d'animation existant.
Most Francia vagy Magyar ez a film? Amúgy nagyon sok köt ehhez a filmhez engem. Például emiatt a film miatt látok minden tárgyat űrhajónak gyerekkoromtól fogva.
"It's called sadness. I think that we all loved that old man more than we were ready to say."
The Orphan of Perdide is no more.
Oh man, my heart just ached a little reading that 🥲
Fantastic movie. Fantastic song. Fantastic memories. Fantastic.
Love it! Forever my best movie of my childhood and the best soundtrack. Shit... i'm crying...
Thanks! Yes, that devastating twist at the end along with this song in the closing credits made a for a pretty somber night. I was wrecked!
This is so true, I'll never forgot that first time I stumbled into this movie as a child, many, many years ago.

СУПЕР. я в детстве смотрел этот мультфильм, тогда ещё был СССР.
Even stones cry from this music!
Not able to listen to this one with dry eyes:
