Hi Adam! Thanks for posting this video. I found it very helpful when doing the same replacement on my car. The part reference was particularly important as the vehicle fitment list for the part doesn't mention the Riviera. I have a few comments. Before pulling the backrest you have to remove the trim piece that curves around the upper edge in the middle of the seat. The panel you remove just after 4 minutes had a fastener at the lower edge about midway front/back. It also had an unused fastening tab at the very rear of the panel. Obviously this varies from car to car. The screws #1 and #2 in your cluster of five at the window edge never have to come off at all. I found it convenient to have the bracket already installed on the plate when I dropped the assembly back into the body as I could let it rest on the bracket once in place. I have power windows and like you say the window slider parts are the same. I left the window motor in the car when I pulled the window. My window had already derailed completely and dropped into the car when I started working on it. The plastic wheel had split into two discs with the outer disc falling off completely effectively creating the same problem you descride with the wheel popping of its shaft. The repair was not entirely successful as the window now derails at a certain point in the lift movement. I'll have to investigate this further but unless I guide the window by hand when raising it it seems to happen every time. The problem seems to be the that the window tilts in the direction of travel of the car which shouldn't be possible if the guide plate and slotted plastic blocks are correct. The slotted blocks look like they are not possible to replace.

Thanks so much, glad you found it useful. Thanks for the detailed comments as hopefully somebody else might find that information useful too! Yes, I don’t believe the sliders are replaceable, they seem to be part of the mechanism. I think you would have to get something custom fabricated if that was required. Regarding it popping out still, have you adjusted the placement using the adjusting bolts that I mention in the video. Also the stop bumpers can catch and push it out of alignment.

@v8Adam thanks for the video I'm having the same issue, but I also need those two plastic guides on both left and right sides. Do you know where I can get it or maybe do you know the part number?

Thanks! I am afraid that I do not. I think those are built into the mechanism itself so I do not believe you can get them separately. There are some good groups on Facebook where they sometimes have items like this from scrapped cars.

Wow so much involved but it’s all got to be done for a proper job . One thing I always do on jobs like this is take pics of everything as it comes about so I can check back when reinstalling. Notice how cars back then had exposed screws on the trim for super easy removal ? Not like today where they don’t like to be able to see them hence why you break so much stuff taking it off .

magicmarouke142 yeah completely agree! The exposed screws add to the charm. Makes it more like an old aircraft.
