Rare 19th Century Replica Of Brunel's Royal Albert Bridge | Antiques Roadshow

All valuations were correct at the time of broadcast. Opened in 1859, the uniquely designed Royal Albert Bridge was Isambard Kingdom Brunel's "last great design" and was opened just before his death. This replica is a highly desirable object, and perhaps represents the first physical link between England and Cornwall. Hugh Scully and the experts from Antiques Roadshow take a look at some fantastic antiques and the history and stories surrounding them. This clip was filmed in Plymouth in 1999.

Glad to see this here. This is my mum when she went on The Roadshow some 20 odd years ago. The Bridge is still in my mum's house in Cornwall and as per my Grandmothers wishes shall remain there. Thank you for posting this :)

When i was in Bristol there were many structures design and built by Isambard Brunel. Like the Bristol Train Station, the Suspension Bridge in Bristol..and i guess many more which i did not notice.

Most antique woodenware, including furniture, you can’t make for its value today. A 200 year old chest of drawers made in mahogany costs less than particleboard from ikea.
