Till 2016s Baldies and WDM/G 2s were active and leading long haul run trains in main lines and even they were used extensively in freight corridor. 7 years on now, Alcos, EMDs even WAG5s and WAP1s and 4s are decorating sidelines while P4 are privileged to be in main lines due to shortage of P locos while another bty variation WDP3As were extincted from operation exactly in 2021 22. Their memories are always green and afresh like our childhood days. thanks sir
Nostalgia… compared to steam engines of the sixties, the ALCO in the seventies felt like new age wonders. I remember NDLS NGP by Dakshin Express and GT in 1971… I for one always enjoyed the smell of coal and diesel smoke flying past the window, pollution ko maro goli 😊 While the sleek and zippy Vande Bharat will rule the tracks in times to come, the romance of older times shall remain etched in my aging mind 🥲💕🇮🇳🙏🏽
