Hey squidgy, haven't really commented since you came back but your return has come at a time where distractions are very welcome and I'm so pleased to see your regular uploads. Hope you're still taking care of your health, but I'm glad to see that you seem to really be enjoying yourself with these challenge runs. Looking forward to catching a stream when my schedule matches you!
I've missed seeing your comments, bud. I hope everything's okay with you, and I hope my stream schedule lines up properly, soon, so we can have a proper catch up :)
First video I’ve seen from you in my recommended and it’s a run featuring my favorite Pokémon of all time, something I haven’t seen elsewhere. Great video!
Gen one mono poison types just hit right. They have such amazing vibes. Might just be my rose tinted glasses, but like Muk (also also Grimer, Koffing, and Weezing), but just these mono poison Kanto Pokemon just make me happy
Honestly, I'm happy with minimize rather than another curse, return, rest, sleep talk moveset. Especially since muk learns the evasion move w/o TM. Good job Squidgy and good job to Muk.
First time catching a premier, found your channel a few months ago after watching a Jrose video. I appreciate your take on these Pokémon challenges. Always enjoy your videos
I would think a haircut for a Grimer would probably be the stylist moulding its ooze around into different shapes and then setting it with some sort of hardener like maybe liquid nitrogen?
Thoughts: Muk did surprisingly well. It having the elemental punches really helped. Though, Ice and Fire Punches are more adequate, since their coverage is more useful in a number of key fights. Also, for Red, I think dropping Ice Punch and Return is the correct play, since none of Red's team resists Poison. And, Muk is tanky on the special side that it doesn't mind setting up Curse against Pikachu before Sludge Bombing away. +4 Attack might be plenty to sweep.
There's always a big issue setting up against Red's Pikachu - he LOVES to Paralyze you! It's astonishing how often that little yellow rat can hit Thunder and give you the status condition on the very first attacking turn!
There are some hidden details in Pokémon that I find interesting. Like how when you spell Ekans backwards it spells Snake, Arbok backwards is Kobra and Muk backwards is….
Thanks, Smyles! I'm feeling much, much better! I've got a lot of fun videos lined up over the next few weeks, so I'm hoping you'll enjoy those just as much!
Hey Squidgy, great video as always! Was this video recorded before the Ursaring live or do the lives not count for the rankings? Keep up the awesome work!
Hey Francesco, thank you for your very kind words! This run was recorded and finalised a few days before the Ursaring stream, and was already released to Patrons, so I couldn't edit it! I'll be doing something in the middle of our next Crystal run to update Ursaring's placement :)
Dang I’ve been sleeping on Muk, I never gave it much consideration as a powerful Pokémon. But I never liked poison-types, really. I always felt poison KO’s were way too slow compared to hard-hitting attacks. And I was always getting poisoned and never having an antidote on hand and I’m miles away from a Pokémon center and my Pokémon faints before I can do anything about it and then I’m mad.
I was sleeping on Muk, too. I genuinely didn't expect him to get such a quick time through the run. My estimate was ~2:30:00, and this was supposed to be the difficult run for the month. Turns out, though, it was an absolute breeze! I've never been too fond of Poison-type Pokémon either, to be fair. They've always felt a bit lacklustre, and they're so, so infuriating to come up against. Especially in earlier gens when you take overworld damage from Poison.
Most poison types suck in these games besides Muk but then again Muk is the only poison type in nearly every game that is pure Poison type the rest are mostly poison Grass though Bulbasaur is the most useful of those or Poison/Ghost Ghastly line.
I wish I could tell you, but this run was recorded a couple of months back. Honestly, I don't think HP Ghost even came up in pre-run conversations, but it's a very good shout for a redo!
Because of Alola, I will never accept another Muk other than my buddy that eats garbage for me, and I'm a janitor!
Dont worry im drinking my coffee out of glases for yaers its not that bad
@@Nikki14159 What do you mean? I'm just talking about Alolan Muk.
I picture Muk igniting it's "hand" and then just throwing the flaming/icy/electrified glob at the enemy. Lol
I very much appreciate your pet shop boys/ village people reference about going west where life is peaceful. That tickled me 😁

"go west, where life is peaceful" 😆 I always love your British wit!

I agree bro but if the idea is to finish as quick as possible I guess whatever is quicker works. That Gen 2 set though was OP af 😂
Mhmm. Nice starting moveset. Pound and harden .. mhmmm especially if you spell muk in a different way. Juicy
👀
Honestly better than I expected. Slow physical attacker is rarely a good combination in solo runs.
Muk has the bulk to sustain a few hits, which really helps him out!

Thanks, Stormy! That's very kind of you to say!
@@Squidgy yes sir you differently bring a different take on these challenges. Glad your back at it.

Thanks RJ! I hope you've had a great week!

Keep up the hard work. Will join next month after i start my new job :)
Thanks, Josh! There's never any pressure to join the channel as a member, as long as you're having fun watching the videos, that's all that matters :)
love poison types and muk is one of my favorites. pretty good attack and great special bulk. hyped to see what it can do

love your videos !, nice to see a muk run
Great job. I'm sure Noel Edmunds would approve.
17th!? I am shocked a poison type did that well. The evasion move sure helped though.
Another awesome video as always! Thanks for the entertainment!
Have to join the club for this run muk has been my favo ever since it absorbed bellsprout's vine whip in the anime hahaha
Thank you for joining, bud! It's funny that you mention Bellsprout as a Pokémon there, I've been spending this evening routing a Victreebel run :D
Enjoying this was a full gone conclusion
Mr blobby is a perfect name for a grimer

I saw in another run that hypnosis missed even after a mind reader implying that it still rolls the 25% miss chance.
Also that nickname 😂.
Which Pokémon’s performance has surprised you the most?
Probably Furret - I never expected it to be on the top of the leaderboard, even if it was just for a brief period!
The fear I felt when you said you were working on runs that could be worse than Magcargo. We shall honour your sacrifice
There are a couple of Pokémon I have in mind - I'm gonna do a little tester with them over the next week or so, and see where we go from there!
I've always really liked muk and idk why lol
Scottsthoughts would be impressed with the ice punch on Venomoth 😅
Top tier nickname
Muk got pretty unlucky with Red
The second I saw Mr in the nickname I knew it would be named after that abomination
MUHHHKK
I almost didn’t wanna like the vid cause it was at 420 lol now its 421 🔥
Disable can be useful vs Scyther's fury cutter and Miltank's rollout

You should give tentacruel a go. It's speedy, bulky (at least specially), has decent attacking stats and very good coverage
What made ya go for HP dark over HP Ghost? :)
I wish I could tell you, but this run was recorded a couple of months back.
Honestly, I don't think HP Ghost even came up in pre-run conversations, but it's a very good shout for a redo!
did you used to be a flight attendant
I've never been a flight attendant, no
Hey Squidgy, what is your favourite Pokemon?
I love all of the rodent Pokémon. Alolan Rattata's my favourite, though :)
@@Squidgy nice :) mine is Tyranitar. I wish it was on Caren's team!
That's an excellent choice! It'd certainly make Karen even more difficult. Especially if you replaced either the Vileplume or the Gengar.
When did you decide to go to the other leftovers
From this run - I've been doing a lot of practice while I've been away, and this was the first run recorded since coming back.
You LITERALLY missed the chance to say you were running amok.
