Alakazam + psychic attack + elemental punches absolutely destroys the entire gen 2 games. Just buy a bunch of the punches and cycle them out as needed.
I love having trainers in Victory Road. It felt like one final gauntlet before the true finale. Also when I was a kid I thought it was pronounced "Victree" Road, as in Victreebell, and I was really confused why Victreebell of all Pokemon got it's own dedicated route.
New squidgy 🥰 I haven't been around for the streams cause life is a hell of a thing, but I am so pleased to see a new pre recorded video I really hope things are better for you moving forward, you're a damn gem my dude
Good old Two Spoons. I like Victory Road without too many trainers because it can be such a slog to get through as it is, and when you're having to perhaps compromise members of your final team for HMs, it can get a bit of a faff.
Now an Eggmoverun? This way you can evolve it after reaching Level 16 to Alakazam. With Hiddenpower Psychic it would have been possible in even this run.
I could've sworn there was another rival battle right as you go to fight the Elite Four. So I looked it up! There IS another Rival Battle- but only after you beat the Elite Four, on Mondays and Wednesdays. However! Rival has learned how to treat his pokemon, because in this battle, he has a Crobat on his team!
This was such a blast to watch. Using dynamic punch is such a crazy strategy against Red, but even with Alakazam's rather meager attack stat, the 100 base power fighting move still manages to do heaps of damage to Snorlax through brute force alone. It's such a shame Abra gets such an awful starting learnset, and its gen 2 egg moves don't help matters as far as an egg move redo stream would be concerned.
It is definitely possible to beat Karen first try, but difficult when sand-attacked, but I've done it before as have you. It's nice to see you beat the Elite Four without a reset!
Loved the Victory Road in gen 1. So many Trainers with cool Pokémon! Charizard and Blastoise, were there I think... A bunch of trainers in gen 2 could have also helped with the pesky level difference.
Good time in the end. I expected starting as abra to be a bigger handicap. I think a stream starting as kadabra would be interesting. But this feels like a justified time given poor Raichu had to deal with a poor starting form too.
imagine stealing a pokemon and declaring some kid who was there your rival, only to watch that same kid take over the pokemon world with a single Alakazam
Psychic got nerfed in Gen 2 from a 33.33% chance to lower special in gen 1, to a 10% chance to lower Special Defense in gen 2, and there's also dark type Pokemon that are immuned to Psychic, but Alakazam can use Psychic and gets STAB from it, so base 135 Psychic and high Special Attack. I think there was another thing that nerfed Psychic in gen 2, it just escapes me. Edit: Oh yeah, special got split into special attack and special defense in gen 2, that's the nerf I was thinking about lol.
Alakazam being good? Say it isn't so! But Alakazam really is just kind of built for these kinds of challenges. Fast, strong, and coverage, it has everything you want...once it gets going from Abra that is of course.
As long as its NOT STUCK with Teleport as its ONLY starter move this run is way too easy save for beating Miltank if you don't kill IT in 1 hit if ONLY has Teleport it SUCKS UNTIL you get Kadabra/Hack Alazakam at the start to NOT be stuck with Teleport.
I personally prefer trainers outside victory road as well as inside victory road. That way you get more chances to level up and fight more. Its not good for speed running. But if you play the game as a normal player with 6 pokemon, it is very helpful.
Gave everybody a 20 minute headstart and still finished in a good position, honestly amazed how quickly it made up time
The king is back 👑
Welp. This mon was a monster gen 1-3 due to coverage and psychic type dominance, especially in gen 1.
Hope you get well soon Squidgy. Been looking forward to this one, seen it on patreon so no spoilers but I was impressed
Alakazam + psychic attack + elemental punches absolutely destroys the entire gen 2 games. Just buy a bunch of the punches and cycle them out as needed.
For that Ice/Thunder punch are the MOST useful Fire Punch not so much.

Why does Pryce look like a classy gent in the artwork when in fact he's your drunk uncle in the game?

A run starting as Kadabra would be a great stream idea! Hope you get well soon, Squidgy ❤❤❤

Much love to you, Mr. Squidgy! Thanks for all the awesome runs!

welcome back, and i hope you're feeling better soon! take care and rest well!
Sorry your health has been rough but happy to see a new video!
So much love from all the hm friends! Great run from the gen 1 monster!
wishing you a quick recovery!
This is where the fun begins been looking forward to this.
Starting with Kadabra would be neat. Always glad to see your content. Take care of yourself!
i love your videos squidgy! i remember when first getting into pokemon I would always use alakazam
Man in crystal even abba is op. Just give him the 3 elemental punches and your good lol
It is definitely possible to beat Karen first try, but difficult when sand-attacked, but I've done it before as have you. It's nice to see you beat the Elite Four without a reset!
Im so sorry Squidgy, it took me until 25:34 to realise that I hadn't tapped the like button.
I hope you're feeling better soon.
Bit of a rough start but really solid run! great video as always!
Hope your health improves soon. Your videos are always entertaining. Great stuff!
I hope you get to feeling better soon.
take it easy squidgy remember its a long way to victory road :) feel better soon

Love the content, I put you in the same category as jrose11. I love these old gen play throughs
I haven’t even started watching it but all I’m gonna say is once you get to Goldenrod and acquire all the elemental punches it’s all over!
Great run!
He’s back baby!!! ❤❤
with all the punches you did in this game i'm suprised that you didn't name kadabra hitmonchan XD
Glad you're doing better found a hidden gem in your channel
Hope you get Well soon
3:19 Elder Li 😂

I think you should indeed consider starting as Kadabra at least. Great video though, thanks!
Nice video man I think u should modding abra with a confuse
Oh poor you starting from Abra. That absolutely hurts speaking from experience.
It only hurts because of Teleport had it STARTED with Confusion the run would be so much EASIER.
Love your narration! Now, could you display the opponent's stats next time?
Once Kadabra learned confusion, were you using teleport to save time? This didn't appear to be the case, but I was just curious.
Yeah he’s back ❤❤❤
Now we need a revised alakazam run solo! See if he can Top s tier
Why didn't you evolve Kadabra into Alakazam prior to Falkner?
Kadabra run, please. Love your content, keep it up ❤
I've never really liked long dungeons (or routes honestly) in Pokemon. If there has to be a Victory Road, I'd rather have Gen 2's than Gen 1's.
I hope I’m not being insensitive but what kind of health problems is squidgy going through ?
Do a run with abra having an egg move pleaseeeee
havent watched yet, prediction is that it gets the best time.
Can't you start with Alakazam
As long as its NOT STUCK with Teleport as its ONLY starter move this run is way too easy save for beating Miltank if you don't kill IT in 1 hit if ONLY has Teleport it SUCKS UNTIL you get Kadabra/Hack Alazakam at the start to NOT be stuck with Teleport.
Can you mute the breathing sounds in future ?
Psyduck run?
Good afternoon my dear Brit❤
