@@Mason-hs9oz being my first and not knowing what to expect I took a leap of faith and it does a great job. The lidar mapping and navigation is great, it works as it should. I have two dogs and works the pet hair every other day and gets it off the carpet and hardwood. I'd buy it again!

We got a Shark IQ on Prime Day this year and, with no point of comparison, felt like it did a pretty terrific job. And at $299 I’d still have to say it does very well; I just have to start it when we leave the house because, as you mention, it’s line of travel drives me crazy. Anyway, seeing another Prime-type day coming in October, I’ve been looking at the Shark AI to have a better vacuum on the main floor and move the Shark downstairs. Yikes! I can see that for a little price difference the Q5+ is the way to go, assuming similar longevity. Our IQ experience has shown us the self-emptying dock is definitely the way to go. They've done well with the low suction pressure and above average pickup performance of this. I was expecting it to have better battery life because of it and I was absolutely right. It's so efficient!
Are you planning to look into the Q5 pro as well? Iwas hoping, the Q5 might be my carpet vacuum + navigation dream, though only the pro is available in Europe... Or is there any other 'carpet hero' with good navigation at a similar price point?
Given the current similarity in price between the Q5+ and the Q7+ would it not be worth going for the Q7 even though I'm not that bothered about a mop function? I would still have it for occasional mopping and I would have the upgraded all rubber roller, which honestly I'd be tempted to upgrade straight away if I got the Q5+. Current price difference between the 2 is only around $50!
