Calling Bayonetta a tsundere is a bit of a stretch, especially given how posh and very self-controlled she is. I mean can you imagine her saying something like: "It's not like I have affections for you. Fool."

Bayonetta is a straight-up dominatrix. Case in point: the torture attack for the Joys is literally a BDSM device.
Yeah she has no feelings for Luka at all. She just teases him. In fact in the second game she treats him more harshly. “When Hideki Kamiya was asked about the relationship between Bayonetta and Luka, he simply stated: "She teases Luka; like a toy, but will never commit, he'd die long before her."
She is more of a Tsundere esc Himedere.

Here's something you might be interested to hear DiGi, Bayonetta's theme song "Mysterious Destiny" from the first game has lyrics that talk about her burying "Loneliness" deep down inside her. I also really like how it is sung in a happy and and cheerful tone even though the words are quite sad, making most people entirely miss that the song is even dwelling into such aspects of the character

Bayonetta's loneliness or fear of it most likely comes from her earlier life as an outcast of the Umbra Witches, I'm pretty sure that, in her anime movie, she says out loud that, while everybody else in their clan hated her, Jeanne was always by her side, since their childhood.
This loneliness or fear thereof might have been strengthened by the absence of her father, who she is forced to kill only to later on find out to be a good person before Aesir, as well as seeing her mother die once when fighting the war and again when going back in time and witnessing the scene of her death.
Like you said, it's headcanon, but there are a LOT of evidences to support that. I wonder how much of this will get touched on if a third game comes along?

Hi, I just wanted to say that I am grateful to you for convincing me to give Bayonetta a chance. When I first heard of the games, I was led to believe that the character was just another sexy femme fatale type and that the games themselves were bland, so I was just gonna avoid them. But I watched your video on the subject and bought the games right away! And I gotta say, it's some of the best stuff I have ever played on a console, and Bayonetta herself is now one of my favorite female characters. Thank you so much.

Don't know if anyone else mentioned this, but the lyrics from the original Bayonetta song Mysterious Destiny literally state "Bayonetta, you bury your loneliness deep down in your eyes" which basically could either further support or prove your theory of Bayonetta feeling a sense of loneliness or fear of being alone

It's not easy to notice, but her head's hair is actually connected to her suit. If you look closely, you can see it's connected to the back of her neck.

This was amazing! The analysis of her personality and what her true feelings may be makes me love Bayonetta so much more. Well done, you got my subscription. I've always been captivated by Bayonetta since seeing the commercial for Bayonetta 1 back when it aired on TV. However I wasn't able to play until it was released alongside Bayonetta 2 on the Wii U. Having played both titles she was instantly my one and only ballot pick when the smash ballot was announced. I still can't believe she's in Super Smash Bros. Truly a dream come true.
This was an amazing tribute to one of my all time favorite video game characters! Seriously, I admire everything about Bayo, from her looks, her powers, her weapons, her personality, her charisma, her style! To the way she talks, and the way she walks, I wish I could be Bayonetta! Although, I do agree with you guys about her looking better with her shorter haircut from the second game. She rocks that beehive of course, because she's Bayonetta, but her shorter hair just looks more classy. Bayonetta 3 is a thing that needs to happen sometime before I die, because I will always want more!
Also, it's funny you compare her to Boa Hancock, because she's one of my favorite One Piece characters for a lot of the same reasons that I love Bayonetta! Although Hancock started out as a guilty pleasure fave in the beginning, whereas I was never guilty about adoring Bayo.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the relationship between Bayonetta and Jeanne being a lot closer than "friends" with them living together post-Bayo1 according to official art of Bayonetta ripping the covers off a naked, hungover Jeanne in her bed along with them going to a party "together" for Bayonetta 2. It really makes me almost... well actually it does make me think they're a bit of a couple. It'd make sense, and if you read the in-game diaries there's a ton of evidence. I didn't want to flat out 'pair' Bayo off with anybody in this episode mainly because i wanted to keep things as level playing-field as i could. There's no doubt she cares for Luka, there's no doubt she finds herself intrigued with Loki and there's no doubt her and Jeanne are exceptionally close to the point they might even be in a relationship ...i just didn't want to hammer one point down too much for Bayo's episode because she has a lot of feelings for a lot of people. DiGi Valentine Ok clearly most of what you guys said about Bayonetta was emphatically, head canon. She has 0 affection towards Luka. I mean she has no romantic feelings at all. So that affection thing needs to be changed. I mean just because she cared about him doesn’t mean she has romantic feelings of any kind. You don’t have to love them or like them to care. Also you clearly have not paid any attention to the second game. She treats him more harshly in that game cuz his character has gone from a whining child to an even more annoying stalker. Plus his attitude and cockiness is really increased and she shows total annoyance towards him in that game. Even goes as far as to call him Cheshire again. Which he hates being called btw. 😂Also the creator of the franchise stated that there will never be a romance between the two. Like you said, she only considers him a friend and nothing more. She teases him but only because that's her. But there is more to the reason. Mainly cuz she knows he is a shameless pervert and likes to tease him because of that. Also Bayonetta is immortal and he is not. If you need fact this was what Kamiya himself stated. I copied it off from the site. Most creators do that and it seems that's what Kamiya wants to do with her. There will never be a romantic relationship between her and Luka, but she will only consider him an ally and nothing more. She needs someone to pick on to please her boredom. Not to mention she kicked him so hard he flew and nearly died. This was during the cathedral scene in Bayonetta 2 when Luka was annoying her with his constant boasting. In the second game he has been portrayed as an annoying pest. As a matter of fact, he is portrayed as the butt monkey of the series. 😂 In fact she even stated she considers him to be the most annoying person on the planet. During the final battle she calls him a fool swinging about. She only admires his skills on helping her. That's all he will get from her and I think he knows it. He knows it will never work out between them both which is why he dates other girls. But it's for the best. Most fans would rather her be single than not. Kamiya knows how to please the fans. Again might wanna do more research when you do an update. Also you might be correct on Jeanne and Bayonetta having feelings for each other cuz Kamiya is really into that. He admits to be a Yuri fan. And he gives a lot of praise to fans who came up with the idea of shipping them. Though it’s most due to the fact Kamiya’s favorite character is Jeanne and also who doesn’t like girl on girl action? LOL

So even before watching this episode I saw it in my subscription page then I saw the character and I just know this is gonna be a great one.
And not only was I not wrong but I was definitely not disappointed. DiGi I can honestly say this is one of your better episodes (If not your best, with more yet to come), I don't know if it was the jokes, the guest star (Shay May seems really cool), or the character and looking past her surface (hehehehe) but I just really enjoyed this episode. I'm glad I was able to see this and hope everything goes great with the next one.

Bayonetta had to see herself again to remember her experiences that of her original self. She became the left eye because she was the strongest witch. Her strength comes from being a black sheep of the clan and having to take care of herself because no one wanted to be around her being birthed from "sin".

Between the Importance / Background Section:
Something that wasn't mentioned was that Bayonetta (or Cereza) was the child born from the forbidden love between an Umbran Witch and a Lumen Sage, two clans that were to never intermingle. As such, Cereza was essentially a pariah in the eyes of the Clan elders as a child due to her very existence being a violation of their faith. Even 20 years later at Jeanne's Final Test to be declared an Umbran Witch, she was still considered and called an outcast by name, placed in a cell off to the side in order to spectate the ceremony as opposed to being part of it as a fellow witch.
The final scene with Balder in Bayonetta 2 is also potent in how that is the first time Balder ever actually meets his daughter, and she's all grown up to boot. For his final wish to be to have Bayonetta acknowledge him as her father puts a whole different spin on him breaking time itself so he could be a father to Cereza in Bayonetta 1.
The point of the Cereza plot was to get Bayonetta to unlock the power of the Right Eye, the Umbran Sacred Treasure that required her to truly understand darkness (or, in another way, it required one to truly accept darkness without fear). The confusing part comes from how, in the climax of Bayonetta 1, Bayonetta unintentionally changed her own personal timeline; in her head, she was both the Cereza who lived her childhood in the Umbra compounds, and the Cereza who lived her childhood raised by her father and went on an adventure with her future self. This paradox was the desired outcome of Balder's plot.

Awesome video dude. When you and Shay mentioned all Bayonetta's flash, flare, and her being the nazz, with god given ass, is a front to protect herself and mask any loneliness reminds me of a video I saw recently saying Dante (of Devil May Cry fame) being quite similar, when you take the anime into consideration. You should also totally do a Dante video as well and how long do we have to wait till we get a DMC X Bayo game because everyone knows that they both share the same universe. There's too many references in item descriptions and other characters - Enzo and Redgrave - that it can't be purely coincidence.
Last time they made a reference to Dante in Bayonetta, was in a concept art in which Enzo beat Dante in poker and left him naked, while Rodin and Bayo were enjoying the spectacle. He was still enjoying his strawberry sundae, though. Luka also makes a lot of references to previous Kamiya's works, like having a puppy who looks like a reincarnated Ammy and other pets named after Sylvia, Trish, and Claire.

if youve actually played trough the game or watched a walk trough you figure it out alot easier then if someone tells you about it, and in Bayonetta 2 the hair still comes from her head, but she is able to change her hairstyle like shes able to change her outfit, with magic.

Bayonetta and Jeanne are totally romantically involved. Like, I don't even mean that as a joke. A good amount of official concept art portrays the two in much more than a "just best friends" kind of way. If you don't believe me Kamiya himself stated they're the "only couple" shown in the games outside of Rosa and Balder.
