Nice video, as always! Couple comments based on what was said: - Fremen could benefit from the crossplanet shipment to bring as many figthers as possible to the SH they can't easily reach - The stalling victory condition is so boring but has the merit to exist..! Give the Spacing Guild a Bene Tleilaxu ally and you're in for a treat... They help the guild address their most glaring issues - When the guild is in play, its best to think twice before sending troops on Arrakis cause you will make them rich.. It's also great to force fights with them early game to really kneecap them from the get go. I believe that the Spacing Guild is incredibly strong, despise what Jack says (yeah their leaders are weak but, come on, they still get a 5 strenght leader!) . Their advanced ability is just so powerful and is the reason why they could easily steal a win if not stopped in the beginning.
10 turns is a looong time to hold out. And it used to be 15! I don't think they are a weak faction. I think there are no weak factions. But like most factions, sometimes things will align for you and sometimes they won't. I do agree though, the advanced "go when you want" advantage is key to their strength, combined with the spice.
This is a really good video, Thanks Jack. I have a question about the deals the Spacing Guild could offer. Is it against the rules for the Spacing guild to offer a discount to other factions on troops during shipment phase for certain benefits? And how much leverage does the spacing guild have over the shipment?
A What if: You got tasked with separating the Spacing Guild and the Smugglers into two different factions. How would this change the Guild, and what would be the Smugglers' gimmick?
When the guild pays for the allies shipment, do they get the spice back? (like when the emperor pays for auctions for their allies and they get the spice back)
@@jackredathewarpi believe an FAQ said the opposite. Even without that. I lend spice to my ally and he then pay me. I’m not paying for him then. Same as emperor.
@@SaliasLeRounard FAQ definitely does not say the opposite. Allies cannot give spice to each other, not even as bribes. Emperor is the lone exception. Allies can help make payments for shipping or cards, but any help Guild does paying for shipping goes to the bank.
@@jackredathewarp my bad you are entirely right. I watched too much of the original game playthrough, or they were playing a homebrew, and did not check the FAQ they claimed to use. If you don’t mind. I understand that the rule book say “player not in an alliance can” make bribe. Is it by design that it’s not possible to do so between ally? Especially because it would only be collected at the mentat phase, and it can be bypassed by using a third party (hey I give you 10 spice if you give 9 spice to my ally, or any other arrangements). I ask because in logic, saying a specific group of people can do something doesn’t imply that an other group cannot. But in rules, it’s always hard to know if it is a limitation, or if it was a precision like “even non ally can interact between them” Sorry for the big chunk of text on a YT comment. The spice must flow!

there is only one stronghold the fremen can't easily reach and the guild start owning it

They cannot give discounts per se, but what they can do is rebates in the form of bribes.
With 3rd expansion shipping back to reserves makes a lot of sense now

@@SaliasLeRounard It is by design that allies can’t bribe. It opens some clunky and exploitive game play that designers preferred to avoid.
One of the Guild's leaders should've been called water seller instead of soo soo sook.
When you ship back to reserves can you ship to other home worlds? Or even with the Cross shipment, can you ship to other home worlds?
Yes
Can the guild cross ship into the ixian mobile stronghold?
No.
