Elvin Bishop sure can bring out some funky grooves. He does country, blues, funk, rock and soul so well. Great performance. I saw Elvin Bishop 3 times live and met him. Cheers! ✌️
That Bo Diddley beat… I LOVE Elvin Bishops gorgeous brown eyes, a Tulsa man! My transplanted hometown. They’ve got some hip shakin’ goin’ on here, too! SO Fun! 🤩 😍😁
That's a tight, rocking band, especially the twin harmony lead guitars, which was a popular sound in 1970s blues rock and Southern rock. It must have taken tons of practice to play those parts live. Impressive musicianship.
Mickey Thomas (Later of Jefferson Starship) actually sang "Fooled Around and Fell In Love". Many Radio DJ's were angered when they found out Elvin Bishop had fooled them & everyone into thinking that he(Bishop) was the actual singer. That song should have been released as Mickey Thomas backed by the Elvin Bishop Band. (Yes, I know and realize that Mickey was in the band).
@@marknjp Thanks Mark! I've also learned much info from various entertaining, and educational, comments of various music videos here on RUclips from many people. Cheers!

@RichardBurr-Houston I used to work with Johnny at a day job in Vista, almost a decade ago. At the time, I never knew how famous he really was, because he was absolutely 100% down to earth. A kinder man would be very hard to find.
It's a great performance ... but a little ... weird? I saw Elvin Bishop at the Waterfront Blues Festival in Portland several years ago ... he put on a great show.

Elvin rockin’ the Bo Diddley beat! ⚡️✨🌟🎸
Ah, the seventies. When Clavinets ruled the earth.
I had front row seats to one of his concerts in the mid 1970's. One of the most fun ones I ever attended.
Saw Elvin Bishop open for Crosby, Stills , Nash & Young, in Memphis in 1974. He blew me away.
I did too! Liberty Bowl stadium. A good time was had by all.

One of the most fun shows I ever went to.
Wow, great rockin' song! Hard to believe this is the same guy who did "Fooled Around and Fell In Love".
He wasn't the singer on that track though.

Ain't no margereeeen coming from any cow.
I recently got a collection of his seventies songs.
Awesome!
As Charlie Daniels once said, "He ain't good lookin' but he sure can play".
I thought that was Dickie Betts playing with Elvin at first 😂
Same here ! Have you found who it is ?

Beer tab hat band. Classic Elvin, back when he still tipped a few (beers, not cows; although I'll wager he's tipped a few of them too)
singing with Charlie Daniels back in the seventies they were tried out do each other with the Jazz and the funk it was a great show
Donny Baldwin on drums. He followed Mickey Thomas over to Starship.
Little known fact - the other guitarist in this video joined The Village People as The Cowboy soon after this performance.
Cool! 😎
So great. Lifts me up so much. Does anybody know who the second guitar player is?
lerdy!
What is the lead guitarist name that is standing next to Elvin Bishop? I wonder what bands he was in before and after Elvin Bishop

@@KittyGrizGriz Thanks for the info. He is a good guitarist to bad he didn't make a solo albums in the 70s
@@waynegram8907 Johnny's still playing in the San Diego / Oceanside area mostly, but he still gets around.

I hear a little Love is Real - Not Fade Away in this. Nothing is 100% original.
