The seat on these sport bikes isn't designed to be sat on for long periods, it's deliberately firm to make it easier to slide around on track days
That is a stunning bike!! I actually think the older ones were a bit more comfortable. I’m currently restoring a 2001 ZX6R, but would love a brand new one at some point
I feel your pain man but it's a pretty easy fix to slap a gel pad in there but it's the clocks that pissed me off on my old one. Mine was the one with the led rev counter running round the edge and I just couldn't see it.
So buy aftermarket seat that's more comfortable. I'm sure you can find one online somewhere if not custom make it.
Would you ever get an aftermarket seat? Like a Luimoto seat?
I don't have as much seat time as you do but I haven't had any complaints about my seat. It was a concern but after a couple of 2-4 hr rides the seat was the last thing on my mind. Leg cramp and lower back pain but usually a few posture changes let's me ride longer.
It`s my dream bike too, so I also bought it one year ago. I still love it very much and it is so much fun to drive. Surprisingly I feel comfortable with the seat. Hope you will find good solution for yours !!
Good choice!
Yeah it’s a bit of a pain isn’t it, Iv seen houses made out of comfier bricks. I tend to feel it around the 40 minute mark. Aftermarket one for sure
😅 Glad it's not only me
Just sat on a ‘21 yesterday. The seat is 10x more comfortable than a Z900 lol. Since I bought my Z it has been the only thing I complain about. Super rock hard lol
Great Video!
Thanks!
My dream bike 💚 subscribed ✌
Thanks dude 👍🏼
I noticed you using your clutch lever to shift gears, does this bike come with a quick shifter or is that an aftermarket feature?
Comes with a quickshifter but you don’t have to use it.
On track day you will appreciate how easy you can change positions on the bike with that seat
Yeah perhaps, I think this is literally a road legal track bike, but I think that was my issue. Why make something so designed for the track road legal, where there's pot holes and restrictions etc. But I've concluded it's a problem with me as the rider 😅 because many people are quite happy with the setup. I think I'm just getting to the point where the trade off for performance over comfort isn't worth it anymore 🤷🏻♂️😊
If you ever look on race bikes with Superbike tells all that is there is a three-quarter inch piece of foam so you have better feeling contact to the road
You’re finally making another vid but to talk about how much you hate a seat 😂😂😭
😅🤷🏽
Yeah can’t you get a aftermarket one???
The only thing I don't like on my 2020 ZX6R is the brakes started squeaking after 2,500 miles. I had a 2019 ZX6R for 3,400 miles (long story) and it never did this. No big deal though...it's still under warranty and I'll take it to the shop.
Does anybody know why the brakes would squeak at the end of a stop? I've ridden it normal on the street...no track days or anything. I have 4k miles on it now...still squeaking. Thanks
Same here my brakes always squeaking even after brake cleaner 🤷🏼 mine has 4k miles too
Have you tried cleaning the calipper?a small pebble might be stuck inside. Happens to me often when i do long rides after it rains and the following day I hear squeaks when I break.
@@kamui330033 Thank you! I didn't even think about that. Going to check later today.
Yeah I agree 100%, I bought a after market one and its so comfortable I can do road trips for 13 hours and feel no pain
From where!?!?!?!?And what year is yours???
I just bought my 2020 zx6r and the pain is unexplainable.
😅
Might be my fat ass but I didn't find the seat bad. I get more butt pain from my ninja 300
for me the only defect of the 636 is the lack of ride by wire
Can i ask what made you buy it over something like a CBR or R6
Not really a big fan of the 600cc hondas, R6 I wouldn't have minded. But I got a decent deal on this as a new bike, couldn't find anything similar for R6 or Daytona 675, hence went for this 😊
Hey jay, I’m buying the zx6r as soon as I’m off my lams period. Th reasons are simple. It’s cheaper then the gsxr and cbr while having more horsepower and better performance.
Why would anyone buy a racing motorcycle then want a gel seat?
It only depend on how good you are comfortable riding sport bikes . no complian . I am enjoying my new zx6r ..
I think the tank serves a better seat lol
No a couple people with the zx6r. They rate them highly 👌
There's one called a Wild Ass Air Cushion
Yeahhh I've seen that one as well actually
I still miss the fz6 😢
I think that was my most popular bike for viewers 😅
@@DanTheTwoWheeler yea i bought one my self actually and thats how i found you! Good luck man, keep up the great vids.
Take a look at Luimoto seats brother. They also sell gels you can add yourself if needed to make those cheeks sit a bit more plush
I was just about to make this comment. Planning on doing the Luimoto gel insert and cover in the future for my 636 I am getting next month.
@@diamondheat9 I think that's probably the best option I've seen for getting some softer seats. Specially the newer bikes
Ah interesting, didn't know about that 🤔
Luimoto is a rip off, you can purchase a gel insert and some scrim off ebay for alot cheaper
@@atiq982982 that is a statement that can be said about anything. Can always find something cheaper on eBay. You go to Luimoto for the seat covers as the gel is an extra purchase. Also, not all gel is created the same
The seat is not supposed to be comfortable
That's not a crusier so don't expect comfortable seating position.
Nice profile pic
I thought you were gonna say the cheap Nissin brakes. Even the new 2021 has them. Dumb.
Yea thats quite bad the most critical part of the bike the seat
Its never bothered me personally. Been able to do 2-3 hours without getting off and no real butt pain.
A few suggestions aside from changing the seat:
-Adjust the suspension: i dont mean to soften it up, but lower the front preload and increase the rear preload. The weight is distributed more to your wrists and will relieve pressure on your butt. Or you could just soften the front and back but it might take the edge off the handling, which sort of goes against the whole point of the supersport...
- Just assume a more aggressive stance: i find that if you sit up too much (long cruises) you simply end up leaning back on to the long hard seat. If you get used to leaning forwards more the weight is split between your wrists, legs gripping the tank and your butt.
Thanks for the suggestions, will keep it in mind next time for sure :)
Because its made for a race track dude come on
Yeahhh but most of its customers ride on the road, and I'm sure they know that so 🤷🏻♂️
@@DanTheTwoWheeler lol yea but again its made for the track. Besides all that you should be wearing gear so youre not going to be comfy anyway ITS A RACE BIKE
@@DanTheTwoWheeler its a shame if you own this bike and you Dont track it, but i have an 06 zzr and the seat is very cusiony but u still get sore after a few hours or so.
