I thought they were going to be at least 100k the way he was describing them 😂
Yeah exactly, all the fake shock and humility gets annoying after a while. The worst ones are the Clarice Cliff vases that used to pop up on daytime TV all the time... "my aunt paid £1 for this in 1950 now it's worth £50!" Well congratulations all it's done is kept up with inflation because £1 in 1950 = about £50 now!
Mental inflation bro
It's about 15k today. Guess it depends on what she got them for
My friend that was in 1990...
Surely they are much more after 30 years!
I was waiting for a million
In that condition, that they have survived at all is amazing.
My thoughts edsacly everything thats happened through all that time yet their still pristine. Although this episode hads got to be 80s lets hope they are still in 1 piece 👍
Count Sulkowski was Polish. I am more surprised it wasn't stolen by soviet bolsheviks.
Once upon a time, Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin met. They talked and decided to smoke. Churchill then took out his cigarette case - beautiful, made of pure gold, with the inscription engraved: "To Churchill - the Nation."
When Roosevelt saw her, he took out his cigarette case. It was even more impressive: pure gold finished with carefully cut diamonds. There is an engraved inscription on the cigarette case:
"Roosevelt - Wife".
When Stalin saw this, he took out his cigarette case. This one was unlike the previous ones - twice as large, made of the highest quality gold, decorated with diamonds and turquoises, lined with satin inside. There is an engraved inscription on the cigarette case:
"To Count Radziwiłł - Count Potocki".
Yes, amazing they survived for you to pillage and sell to shady people..... Exactly what I collected them for.
@@bluehead_info😂
Your first 3 words are meaningless, in fact your whole comment is nonsense.
What you should say is, Considering their age and delicateness, it's a wonder they have survived at all.
Remember when £3000 was a lot of money
In Romania in 90 with these money u get a central apartment with 2 bedroms and a living room 2 bathrooms and a kitchen.
Remember when the exchange rate was 1 : 10 (GBP : SEK) rather than 1 : 15...
@@j.romanorov In Alba lulia perhaps?
In 1990 you could buy a decent house for £30000,- in many parts of the UK
It's still only £8500 in todays money. £100 in 1990 is £285 today
Miss watching this with my grandpa. He loved it
3000 pounds was the biggest anti climax....... the way he explained it made me think she was buying an island after this 😂😂
9 grand today
Thanks I couldn’t wait so cking comments…😳letdown😢thought it would be ooodles more😂
Yeah...you could buy a LOT with 3 grand back in 1990. Aside from the inflation making it about 9 grand today.....BUT.....the purchasing power of that money was a LOT more than today's money. I turned 18 in 1994 and even then, I felt exactly as everyone does today......the youth would never own a home, we were shut out of the housing market. All of the factories shut down across the entire Western World....so no jobs and what there was, was not exactly a job that had you going places. This modern world was being shaped in the 1970s and 1980s, with massive multinationals etc etc. And it really got set in stone in the 1990s......we are still living in the Post WW2 world and status quo.....nothing will change this now except for something _BIG_ ...an 'outside context problem' as Iain M Banks would say....something like angigantic meteor resetting us back to the stone ages.... or a massive solar event just fries every computer chip inbthe world....the chaos would be immense. A massive volcanic event (like the Toba Catastrophe when there may have only been a couple thousand humans alive on the planet)..... anyway
TL:DR
Money worth less now.. doesnt matter anyway...coz....we all be big dead kaput soon 😅 we be back to bang rocks together ..... man much happier😊
@@VincentNajger1 feel like in the 1960s-1970s 3 grand was alot......... Thatcher borrowed from the future and you could buy a decent sized house for 3 grand! The 90s was where a million pound was alot of money.......... you couldn't of bought a house tho.....
I'd rather bang racks together tbh....... it'll be less hassle 😅
You could by a small apartment or a small summer house in the countryside for that is Sweden 1990.
I was worried the way he was gesturing so animatedly that he was going to knock them off the table. 😮
They are handsome pieces.
I love antique road shows. I watch this every week.
I always love hearing the history behind the objects they display.
Used to love watching this back in the 80’s on a Sunday, with the family.
And that was 33 years ago
Yeah now there are worth £300
Lol
“Is it true?” - so swenglish haha
Är det sant?
The woman is worth much more. Beautiful
She's a honey.
She's mint
I could imagine clearing out an elder relatives house wen they pass and throwing stuff like this away there shocking looking things lol then watching this crying 😂
Yes and sometimes they give valuable things away to the thrift shops without realizing it and worse yet at the yard sales .
Some people just think anything old is junk ... usually the same type people that think Ikea furniture is wonderful
And thats how ABBA got the money to go into the recording studio
I know! I love ABBA and Agnetha Falstkog
If you scroll to the next video it plays ABBA😂
😂😂😂
Wow seeing this clip has taken me back some years
She is beautiful
It's amazing how we put value on so many material things
Yes like 400miliion for a painting . £200,000,000 for a footballer . Its disgusting
@@scottn1019 True. What's even more disturbing is that the artist isn't seeing any of that money.
True, but it makes the world go round.
@@ronifae8286 no he's only been dead 300 years.., what planet do you live on...
@@alysontaylor393 Geesh, take a deep breath already. Do you have any idea how much funny money is spent on antiquities just so millionaires and billionaires can donate it to their own charities and get a tax write-off? However, this entirely misses my point = it is sad that the artists could not enjoy the wealth their works generated.
That was a letdown !
I know, the build up made me think he was going to say about 100 grand.
It was back when this money was a lot! more worth than today
Some say this was the last episode that ARS gave a realistic estimate
Loved watching this on a Sunday having hot buttered scones and tea.
These appraisers all have great voices❤
I wish I could stumble upon a treasure at a garage sale or a Goodwill store.
It’s always fascinating to watch these videos!
Good for her!
_This is ASMR before ASMR!_
Despite beimg a metalhead in my mid teens when this aired, I was an avid watcher. I loved this show....for the history facts, for the surprises and wakky twists, for the equisite craftmanship.
....but I also was a massive fan for that quiet, burbling, background murmur and the encyclopaedic knowledge and awwsome language skills of the hosts.....for the duration of that show, you could hit the absolute epitome of perfect zen relaxation, as well as drift away to a completely different time and place....many different times and places.
Am I the only one on here that was expecting a much bigger number than that lowly £3.000-£4.000 ?🎉
That's 33 years ago..
@@honesty2152 33 years ago 3.000 pounds was a bit more but still very far away from a fortune.
I swear those eyes move on the one figure....lol
It definitely blinked a few times scary
Theyre beautiful and i hope she sells them and cashes in!❤
This is over 35 years ago
Worth more now
Wow she's gorgeous
That’s about 9k in todays money going by inflation
Antiques roadshow's Antique episode
is that it £3-5 thousand?? They way he was talking about them I was expecting £30-50 thousand..
33vyears ago! Prices were nothing...
Me too.
That’s 1990 so probably the equivalent
i have no idea at all how much money that is but from her reaction it sounds pretty damn good
A mincemeat dish from the first porcelain factory in the USA was bought at a flea market for $4 and later at auction it went for $80,000
Keep on fighting , don’t give up
Meißen is a german porcelain producer. If you find a cup or something with their name on, its propably worth a few euros.
One person's trash is another's treasure.
I used to love that show , is it still on the air .
His expressive hands made me nervous.
Lady was like yeah yeah just get to the part how much it’s worth 😂
Worth probably around £7000 - £10000 todays money
His arms flailing around had my anxiety in overdrive. Don't knock them to the ground! 😂
Wow, beautiful!
Beautiful
you'd think they would have a sturdier table - I kept expecting the whole thing to come crashing down at any minute.
I completely feel her. I've got a 103 year old car, fair condition, that's only worth around $5000.
Wow that is really sad .
Maybe you could get a lot more for it if it is in good condition and maybe sell it to Hollywood or another movie film studio .
Kaspar Utz would go crazy for these
quite lovely
Speaking of support, someone put a matchbook under that table!
Beautiful Words to sell. Toooo beautiful. Better to walk away. I believe in hard honest work, not sweet talk.
He about knocked that thang over
For context... in the part of the uk i live in, in 1990 you could buy a 3 bedroom house for £25k. Would be more in London... but stilll, 3k was a hell of a lot of money navk then. Inflation has ruined everything
That's your quarterly electric bill now ⚡
Damn, I'll give her five grand just for saying "hello".
She's mighty fine
YAY she wins!
I can't believe this was 33 years ago.
Antiques Roadshow shorts now? LFG!!!!!!!
😂😂😂😂 “these are worth a staggering 3 quid”
The "rare valuable" items you have are only worth what someone will pay. kindest thoughts to all and your families and Furbabies from Australia ❤
They may have to call on Hercules to support that table on a single central support
I've got a shed load of those.
You also live a rich, fantasy life.
They will be restored to perfection and sold at auction for much more money than is paid to her!
She has that look like shutup and tell me how much 😂😂😂
Beautiful pieces. I'd have thought anything from a royal relative would have been worth more.
The price is priceless 😂
(owner cant believe,we too lol
That's ridiculous it's like these things have been taken care of for decades and centuries and they're only worth that?? That is crazy
How in hell do you become an expert on such obscure, unique, or rare items which most would pass by at a yard sale or thrift store?
"Oh! Just tell me the price." That's what she is thinking all the while.
It's an antique. Good God she preserved it for so many years. I thinks she must be given bonus 😊 may be 10K pounds 🎉
Beautiful woman
Perfectly done loop video
I got a couple of these in a box somewhere my attic
And we are just waiting for him to drop them 😂
She was like, just get to the price bit yeah.
3k? I watched that expecting to hear millions 😂
AWESOMENESS!
And now I know why my antique porcelain pieces have those rectangular spaces cut out of them. 🤯
Oh come on £3000 and she's acting all shocked. I thought he was going to say £300,000!
Oh come on it was 30 years ago...get real...
Meissen porcelain is very valuable.
Value Here: 3-5K British Pounds
Hands down the biggest build up to the biggest disappointment! I was expecting them to be 1/4mil each 😂
1736 ❤ Amazing it’s still intact through 2- world wars !❤ Beautiful 🎉
Doing all these appraisals on the most unstable and wobbly of all tables they could find!
I thought for sure this was a hidden camera show and they tell them their items are actually worthless at the end lol
i need these
Anybody catch that flimsy table? I thought he was going to break them 😂
They are worth 86,000,000,000 Zimbabwean dollars
Or 5 - 700.000 rubles 😂
Honestly more like 3 Quadrillion in 100 trillion notes specifically due to the numismatic value
Oh is that all? I’ll leave mine where they are in the potting shed then, holding up the top shelf.
Count Sułkowski had a room in his Rydzyna Castle in Poland with adornments portraying greek gods paying tribute to his and his wife's families. These figures might have been part of that elaborate setting ... also these figurines were likely either looted or stolen from the castle...
Skyler if she never met Walter
she does look like her
"ITS GONNA SIT ON MY SHELF....I'M TAKING ALL THE RISK HERE.....I'LL GIVE YOU TEN BUCKS"
Antique roadshow always used to light up my Saturday afternoons as a kid. If you caught the right episode, it could be such a WILD show.
I never understood how you could have all this stuff that looks like useless crap, take it to some guy in a blazer and walk out with over $1000.
My little mind was blown
I’ve saw similar ones in Poundland
They always talk them up like they're worth tens of thousands
we do house clearances and garden clearances the amount or old China dinner sets stuff we smash up an and silver cutlery we throw away, I feel bad some times but we just don't have the room to store it and you need to know what your looking for even old books and wooden units it's crazy
Now they're probably worth about $20 a piece. Porcelain is wayyy down for whatever reason.
For something that old it's little money
SOLD! $$$😊
Good loop
So where s the rest of the service?
Looks like Steve Lamac
