If you’re going to be renting a one bedroom, downtown has some nice options. 438 Main is 1bedroom for people with lower income, it’s only 20 some units so it’s not ratchet, mostly young professionals. It’s very nice! If you want to spend more, there are a lot of places downtown. The fancy one 525 Lafayette is most utility included, so while it may seem high, the studios are a good deal. If you give me an idea of a budget and what you’re looking for, I could try to think of something. You could probably try to chat with a realtor too.

There are no aboriginal people in North America. The "indians" migrated from Asia 11,000 years ago. Those various tribes who we now refer to, incorrectly, as Native Americans, were constantly at war with one another. They hunted the saber tooth cat and wooly mammoth to extinction and almost did the same with the American bison. If it ever was a "magical place" it was long before people arrived.

The only hood I've been around in BR is close to the one close to the River Center and 13th Gate. Kind of adjacent to all that and downtown. Don't think I've ever been through this area. This shouldn't surprise me because I am a sheltered privileged white boy on the Northshore, but I'm surprised at how many places in cities I go to all the time that I have never been through.

@@kamala80 Not really, as we see in these videos. Some look really urban. Others look like run down versions of suburbs... which they are sometimes. White flight and all.
Plus, sometimes people have different definitions of what a hood is. Some people say I live in the hood of the college town I'm in (Hammond) halfway between these cities. Basically, it's because it's an older part of town, there is more of a black demographic in my neighborhood (mostly black kids and teens are always playing basketball at the park near my house), etc. I don't see it as one. People of all colors and ages walk the sidewalks, usually with no incidents. Never experienced any robberies. A lot of the houses are old, but renovated and nice. It's just the kind of mix you see anywhere that has even a slight urbanity to it. But to the hicks in the outskirts of town, this is ghetto lol.

Baton rouge the other day, June 2019, had 13 shootings and killings and murders and what not in one fricken day. I live here. I've got a br address. No joke. Thank God I got my ccw license finally. Lifetime at that. Now I can go strapped no matter what. Hope to avoid that trouble like the plague. I'm a peaceful caucasian and no need to hang out but I do have to fill my car with gasoline and I do have to occasionally go shopping. At 3am in 2016 I had insomnia, basically dying after a surgery and medication allergy and i heard a neighbor woman scream and two gun shots. Da home boyz followed this little hottie in the suv for a gang rape home invasion not knowing boyfriend was leaned back in the car sleeping....bang bang. Shot ole boy. And then they fled. Ain't no joke. Cant wait to get moved on outta fricken hell hole shit hole murderous baton rouge. A few good folks though, even in the hood. Had one guy come over and basically protect me from 8 home boyz that was eyeing me for a jump. I wasnt scared but it was thoughtful for him to befriend me so the homeboyz didnt jump. I wasnt strapped at the time but I have verbal judo skills.....chill man I ain't no threat to you dont want no trouble man.

Rollin down Plank Rd. Fairfields used to be one on of the choice Black communities in the 60s and 70s. It has went down, way down since. By the 80s it was said you could get someone killed in Fairfields for a box of Church's chicken. I see most of this video is in Eden Park. That community was said to have had one of the highest numbers of UNIA members in the U.S.

Baton rouge and new orleans have weird vibes to them.. Theres an eerie feeling about the places when you're there. Even when you're not in the so called bad parts of town.. Nothin is as it seems..idk maybe it's the murder rate mixed in with the voodoo/Frenchie vibes that it brings... But You can really feel or sense that something isn't right although nothin is mysteriously happening.. Idk how to explain it but death ☠ can definitely be around the corner.
