This is how a Dad and Son should work on a car or any project together, Tall John you were always calm, cool and collected. Which made Jacob more confident to try something new and learn something new! I love your content, and I missed it! Keep it coming, I can't wait to see what's next!!!!
When I wasn't hammering my 170 lazy 6, it got maybe 23, 24 MPG. But I was commuting in rush hour traffic most of the time, 1 hour and 15 minutes each way. When I drove it a long distance, highway miles, I know it MUST have been maybe 29 MPG and probably more. The maintenance log book I kept is LONG gone.... VERY economical engine... Tall John, you put a lot OF INFORMATION OUT THERE!!! My handicap, well, I couldn't grasp it all....That's my handicap, I'm stuck with it now. That, and arthritis in my right pointer finger.... Jacob, now is the time to question your dad about, well, pretty much everything..... Tall John, Jacob, it's ALWAYS a pleasure to speak with y'all!!!! Keep on keeping on! Peace!
@@talljohnsfunshop2722 on the highway, 6 straight hours of driving, started on a full tank, it showed 1/4 tank? That goes back to 1979.. It was GREAT on gas.. Too bad that Valiant was sooo un- reliable/ un- dependable.. It pretty much sat, since new, only had 21000 miles on it when I got it. The Valiant was six years old. I commuted to college for a year, then drove it 60 miles a day, 6 days a week. It was 10.5 years old when I sold it. By then it had 97000 miles on it. It had belonged to my favorite uncle who had passed away in 1975. The original owner passed away shortly after buying the car. The person that bought it after me, his daughter had a bad accident with it, hit a tree. The next owner also, had a vad accident with it. Drove into something hard....
Yes Jacob.. Visual inspection, and listening are valuable troubleshooting skills. I once knew a mechanic that could tell you what cylinder/ what valve needed adjustment just by hearing the engine running....(Sometimes he's use a LONG screwdriver, handle to his ear, the blade on the rocker cover). Hey, Jacob, don't fret none about not getting the tester hose into that "blind" spark plug hole. It's the nature of the beast. There are plenty of times you won't be able to see what your doing. You'll get used to it, experience and patience...(If you will).
Jacob, yeah, please remember that about patience....I tend to run low on patience at times. That, can be dangerous. Please be patient...... Tall John, the wind noise ain't that bad. There are quite a few other RUclips channels I watch, and trains always seem to be going by as videos are being recorded too. You're not alone..I hear y'all jest fine!
