I fly the EK448 route and then onwards to Manchester and back once or twice a year and really enjoy flying with Emirates. Even in economy on the A380, it's pretty good and the food is always nice. It's definitely a bit of a marathon though so getting up and walking around periodically is a must.

I have just recently flown with them for the first time. Even though I was flying on the oldest current 777 and a380 they were still exceptional and it was one of my best economy flights.

Emirates is definitely the way to go if you want to fly an A380 , since they have the most of them in service BY FAR!!!!

A380s are the type of Aircraft that I have flown on the most have been in and also with the passenger kilometers flown with 166,155 km flown on the A380s which accounts to 48% of my lifetime kilometers in an Aircraft. However with number of A380s boarded on its currently at 20 A380s all of them was with Emirates except 2 which was on Qatar Airways.

I fly the EK225+226 route multiple times a year, isn't too bad in economy if you get up and walk around
Flight is always packed though (at least in September, January, December and June) which I guess are peak times
It is good that Emirates is still able to fly through russian airspace, since it would add another hour or two to flight times, and I guess making the flight unbearable for some.

I flew on the EK 211/212 between Houston and Dubai. After seeing reviews on RUclips from other flyers, I was happy that Emirates switch out the 777 for the A380 for my new year flight. Business class and 1st class are worth on their A380. I don't know how much they save flying over Russia. The inbound flight we did not fly over Russia but the outbound flight we did. The outbound was a polar flight taking us right by the north pole.

I have been flying Emirates UK-Saigon for a few years, preferring Birmingham airport until two other planes landed close in time to the A380. Immigration was swamped for 2 hrs. luckily my business class limo waited for me. Another small but irritable problem arose when the airport started charging a pound coin for a baggage trolly, OK a pound is not a lot but to suddenly have to find one meant a queue, plus putting a 20 note in the machine resulted in a pocket full of coins. Oh yes and to use Birmingham over London cost 300++ pounds more. Though the lounge is great. Did try London the last time and well yes it all worked, so not sure if I might just try Birmingham again next time, pound coin in hand.

Just did the AKL/DXB and DXB/AKL route last month. Business Class makes it more bearable, but it is a bit of a drag in Economy. The service standards have definitely slipped since the inaugural flights, and I have seen the staff panicking to clear away breakfast items only 20 minutes from landing. My wife said that on a recent flight, they were rushing to clear away things after the "be seated for landing" was issued. Staff were told they didn't have time to put their jackets back on. That is poor resource management. However the food was good, the A380 is a joy to be on, quiet and comfortable, and in general, with only few exceptions, the staff are warm and friendly.
Flying from "West to East, it's is a bit of a beast", as they say Usually for about three days, you'll get hit with waves of sleep around early evening. But, even going AKL/DXB and onto Milan, which is East to West, no jet lag.

The situation with Russia is unfortunate. I would certainly hope that Emirates would adopt a more strict approach, after all, Russian backed militia shot down a commercial B 777, which should feel close to home, but I guess that they don't see the current conflict as theirs.
