When I was in Russia last year for the World Cup I met an interesting group of guys from Kazakhstan while I was on the train bound for Adler (Sochi). I they're very interesting because they look similar to Chinese people, but they speak Russian fluently and they're Muslims. I got a chance to have a conversation to one of them who speaks English during the journey.
Basically Kazakhs are different from Chinese, many of them look like them but not all sinces Kazakhs are Turkic people, after Mongolian invasion Kazakhs had become look more like Chinese))))

Great video! I am moving to Astana from Dushanbe, Tajikistan in July and I have seen several travel vlogs on the city--some try to cover everything, but this was truly unique specifically because you connected with a local person. I am even more excited to get there after watching this! I follow you and like your approach to traveling as I am also a solo female traveler.
This is such a fun video! Zhandos did a great job showing around Astana and is simply a wonderful human being! I love how you have interacted and blended in with the locals so far! It truly helps to broaden our horizons :)
Hey beautiful, I agree, there's nothing wrong meeting new people who have similar lifestyles as you because you'll be surprised how much you have in common with them, yessss!!!😊🌹❤
Now that looked like amazing food! I've been so impressed with Kazakhstan, but first is Kyiv in two weeks. College and university are seperate here in England, too.
I've never been to Astana but I have fond memories of my visit to Alma-Ata (as it was known then) a long time ago. I'm quite envious of your extensive travels, Alina. I'm sure we could share a lot of stories of being vegetarian in the Russian-speaking world alone! Vsego khoroshego!
Вы отлично говорите по-русски, Алина! И вы очаровательны! Продолжайте в том же духе! Keep it up! Good luck! Thanks for warm words about our country. Always welcome!
I was recovering from heart surgery at the time, or I would have showed you around town too. It can be a fun little town with the right kind of guide. Although Zhandos did a pretty good job here, so you weren't short changed in that department by any means.
Trust me, the reality on the ground is not as rosy as this video would have you believe. Otherwise, Kazakhstan wouldn't be losing hundreds of thousands of its young and bright citizens to outbound migration every year, mostly to Canada and Australia.
How very interesting that you took the calculated risk and met a delightful guy for a day companion and I bet he helped you understand the city more. I hope you will have made a new friend from this day. Keep being your bold self
People are pretty amazing all over the world. Most are people you'd like to have as neighbours and close friends. Alina, you're finding that out now. We have so much to learn from one another, it's ashamed we use the words "enemy" or "adversary" to describe each other. That's just not true.
I have a cousin who looks like the Kazakh guy in the video and we are Cantonese. Now I wonder if our family might have some ancient Turkic/Mongol ancestry lol

Hello guys ! I wanna fix a word here. Don't offended to me, please. The word "Beautiful" is translated from English into Kazakh " сұлу", "әдемі", but the word "керемет" is translated from Kazakh into English - "amazing", "wonderful", "great" etc. It has several meanings in one. Best regards, Adil.
Locals there look like Canadian First Nations people's with an Asian mix. That's really interesting to me because I'm fascinated with true human history and human migration. I had no idea about this part of the world until your vids. I had a completely different idea about what that part of the world would be like. Thanks for these vids. 👍❤️ The only thing is I can't do the horse meat. I've talked to horses and they make eye contact. Be like eating dogs for me. 😔

ALINA, your Russian speaking competence is an advantage to your growing business, because it is a significant impact on the authentic paradigm of inviting the audience into the genuine experience with the citizens of these former Soviet Union countries! Keep up the great work!

For locals, there is nothing to do in Nursultan other than drinking whiskey/beer or coffee. No skiing or diving, it is too far to go for a picnic (it is virtually where dog die). Only two weeks of summer in Nursultan, and nine months of winter, squalls in winter. Almaty has much to offer.
