Really enjoyed the video Alina. The desert and the heat can definitely wear you down. Smart choice. Those mountains look similar to some I have seen out west in Utah and Montana. Absolutely stunning!
Alina thank you for your blogs. I was in Kazakhstan for the last four and a half years working as a geologist. I am based in Toronto although I come from Ireland originally and spent 22 years in Africa (Namibia, South Africa, Ghana and Mali) before coming to Canada. Thank you for your blogs which are very interesting.
I always look forward to your videolog entries. Good luck on the next portion of your trip (I am an introvert too). Keep being your own kind of beautiful!!!!
Thank you for the interesting day trip from Almaty .I can relate to one of your closing comments : as an introvert ,I too need some alone time to recharge .
It's another beautiful place, Alina. Very nice snowboarding resort, hiking trails must be spectacular. Love your music pick. Keeping you my kind of beautiful. 😉 Have a wonderful trip. Thumbs up!! 👍👍
I was actually hoping to, but because I was flying into Almaty (near it) and then out of Astana (far away) I decided to not do it this trip because it’d cause me to leave the country right away and then re enter. I know it probably would’ve been fine, but I just didn’t want to take a chance to miss a flight.
Beautiful sights... especially Almaty Lake reminds me Lake Tahoe in California (Ski Resorts, MOuntains etc.). Looking forward to your next video. Oh... stop being wishy washy find your Dad.
Yes. They have 1 hotel on the first level and another one on the second. So you can stay there and ski as much as you want for a reasonable price. Just google shymbulak resort, or S.N.e.G hotel at booking.com
Actually I take that back! Now I do remember there were some lodges near the area. Don't know about whether they're public or private, but the possibility is there!
Awesome place! Hi I just started watching your channel, big fan & good music selection too Good job on your" real talks " videos I enjoyed them Storytimes too & the one where you were speaking russian! I also wanted to be an astronaut when growing up lol

Fabulous video, I've found this series enlightening so far! The color of the lake is stunning and one of a kind- is there a specific reason for this? PS: A big thank you to Valentina! It's great learning from a local perspective 👍🏼
It is such a unique experience! You know, it's strange because I can't seem to find the answer of why it is the color it is. Overall it just says the color changes throughout the year. I assume it's because of some kind of sediment in the mountains. And yes, so nice to have a local perspective! I'll have many more amazing locals on this trip :)
Привет, Алина! Обязательно приезжай покататься на лыжах и сноуборде! Уверен тебе понравится и тем более к тебя уже есть в Алматы хорошая новая знакомая Валентина)))
Omg, your eyes are stunning! I cannot believe you made 8 videos about Kazakhstan! I have a yt channel too, it would be really really cool if you could make a video about your experience in kz! It can be english, but my primary audience are kazakhs, so I will edit it and add the subtitles. Let me know!!
If you like turquoise-colored water, you need to take a drive from Miami to Key West through the Florida Keys. All the water there is turquoise except way out in the deeper water away from all the bridges. There is one bridge there that is 7 miles long.
It's really cool to hear you converse in Russian. Would you consider doing a full-Russian vlog once? (With English subtitles of course.) Almaty seems like a breath-taking place to travel through - even literally haha. Hope you'll get a proper rest in Nur-Sultan!
Thank you! I actually did one full one before I went on this trip, just like a get to know me, but I'll definitely be doing more on this trip. It just takes quite a bit of extra work to do all the subtitles.
Its fantastic seeing a girl traveling alone and its a break from the usual copy paste travel couple which has become so synonymous with youtube. This is more authentic and real
Hard to keep your vege/veganism in some places. I got some very understanding waiters in Central Asia though. Astana or Nur- Sultan was much cooler. When I went to Astana as it was still called back then there weren’t many tours available and the weather didn’t help either. Now I see tons of them and many are still a bit expensive.
Yeah veganism in Kazakhstan restaurants is not easily understood or accessible at this point in time. The tours for English speaking people are very limited right now because there doesn't seem to be enough demand (hopefully that changes), but if you're Russian speaking (which I think the majority of their tourism is) there is plenty and for very good prices.

If you would've told me you were in Austria I would have believed you too. Stunningly beautiful there in Kazakhstan, wow!
I know right?! Very different landscape.

Okay, your Kazakhstan videos have caused me to add it to my bucket list. Thanks. ;-)

Which month of the year have you visited Almaty?
Best time to go is End of September, the weather is nice. I juts came back last week and it was an averag of 19C everyday

What's the name of the song @ 7:03?
I was a music service called Epidemic Sound and the song is Two Different Worlds.
How are you doing Alina??
Doing great! The trip has been going even better than I thought.
how did you get to Shymbalak? Car or bus? Can you get there by bus and use public transport ?
You can do either! There’s a city bus that goes there for sure.
Hello Alina how to get to Big Lake from Almaty city?
I'd recommend either getting on a tour or hiring a taxi since it's about an hour drive from downtown.
