- Fortuna had a broken leg and a broken pelvis, and when you'll see this #EpicMoment it will be hard to understand how she managed to pull herself with just one leg and not fall down! I am so happy I had a feeling I should take a #GoPro with me on this #HopeForPaws rescue!

@@muskndusk oh she definitely has something wrong. She has neurosis, & has been on meds for most of her 16 years. Severe separation anxiety to the point that when we went back home (over 600 miles) with our girls to visit family, for a reunion, she tried to dig under our bedroom door because we locked her out so she couldn’t pee on anything. She dug through the carpet & padding down to the wood floor. I haven’t been back home since, not even to say goodbye to my grandmother, my father-in-law, mother-in-law, or my 8yo nephew paralyzed with severe cerebral palsy. All have passed away since that last visit. Both families think I’m absolutely horrid because I prioritized my cats, & our homes, health first. Everyone else went, Husband, both daughters, & son-in-law. I stayed home because we cannot leave her alone & besides, due to my Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS, a rare genetic connective tissue disorder, did I mention I’m adopted?) my severe osteoarthritis in the tailbone & hips makes travel extremely painful. I e had to sleep in a recliner for about 7 years now. Plus the very disease that puts me in pain also makes me resistant to pain meds and anesthetics.
That poor kitty sat on the wall for two days! Breaking my ❤! Thanks Eldad!

Such a tough life on the street for anyone, but you literally drop out of 'heaven' like an angel and rescue her.

I cried all the way through first because the suffering she went through, then at the love for her rescuers and lastly, that she’s going to get a loving furever home! Thanks to all of you who do what you do with so much love!
I'm thrilled y'all were able to safely entrap her. Dr P accomplished an amazing surgery considering the lack of bone density! She's alive with 8 more lives thanks to all of you! Bravo!

Can’t imagine the pain this poor cat was in with injuries like those and what a drawn out, agonising death those injuries inevitably would have led to without rescue and medical intervention - thank you.
I was thinking the same thing, I lived with a bilateral torn meniscus for several month before I could have surgery and even though I have a really high tolerance for pain, it was almost all I could handle and I at least had medication, poor cat just suffered. Eldad is just so amazing, where there is a will there is a way, and he just knows the best way to do a rescue.
I'm not sure I explained this well on my video, but I knew about this cat the evening before, but had to make a decision to NOT go out there right away. I was afraid that she would jump down, get injured even worse, run, and I will never find her in the dark. Luckily, she was still there in the morning (I headed out before sunrise). I was very lucky because I have to live with these decisions, and she was lucky because I was able to accomplish this mission 😊😊
@@lolaottinger6976 - the pain some of these animals endure is just unbelievable to me! Most people don't know that we do AT LEAST 10 surgeries like this every week! Most of the animals don't have a video or an exciting story to share... we just fix them up, find them homes, and this year we are really hoping to grow and increase our capacity to help more animals ❤️

Yeah this video reminded me how much I don't like heights...so nervous you would fall even though obviously you posted the video so most likely you didn't. Even though falling from that height would probably be unlikely to be fatal unless you fell on your head or something.

When I saw her injured front leg my heart stopped beating. God bless you and all who helped her! 💖
Unfortunately, the damage to her front leg was mostly neurological and those injuries are not always fixable. Luckily, we were able to fix her pelvis and that fixed her hind legs so she is now able to move around comfortably and pain-free.

As someone who's nervous about losing balance, the moments you were on that skinny wall made me REALLY NERVOUS. So glad that you saved Fortuna.
I yelped so loud when kitty almost fell off the ledge that my son called out from the other room to see if I was okay. His comment: "Didn't the doctor just tell you an hour ago that your blood pressure jumped so no stress today?" LOL. So glad Fortuna is doing better. The happy endings do a heart good Eldad. And we are all grateful when a cat has the good fortune to have you as a rescuer.

This man has more than earned his wings to heaven with each rescue he goes on. We live in a world of hate, as it’s so easy to be cruel and hateful. Thank you for educating and spreading your community with acts of kindness, care, nurture, and healing to these helpless beings. I just lost my precious, rescued 20 year old kitty last week, and I bawled my eyes out for days. Seeing this has made my day as another precious cat will have the chance to live a great life and be loved. Eldad, you’re a true angel, hero and inspiration to better this cruel world.

This kitty has 8 lives remaining! I follow you for quite some time now and this was one of the scariest rescues so far!!!

Eldad you had me so scared one of you was going to fall! Brilliant idea with using both nets to get her in the cage! Poor baby was in so much pain. We always seem to adopt cats with medical issues. Delphi was born with heart issues but with our help she lived to the ripe old age of 13 before a blood clot traveled up her spine & paralyzed her. She passed in 2018 the same year as my tortie Daffodil, at age 19! She spent her last 2 years as a diabetic with horrible arthritis, we took her in for her annual visit when it was discovered she had a very aggressive cancer. We made the decision to help her over the rainbow bridge. We adopted her from the humane society in 2005 after she was removed from a farm with 200 other animals. She needed ear surgery, the humane society couldn’t afford it, due to a polyp & blown ear drum. Munchkin came to us sick & had to be on a special diet to reduce crystals in her bladder, she passed away, quite unexpectedly, this past December from end stage renal failure. Now we just have Lelo, she is 16 & neurotic, & has to be given amitriptyline daily. She doesn’t pee on stuff as much if she’s on her meds. I’m disabled now & stuck at home all day. If I could still drive the long trip there from Iowa I would gladly adopt her! I have a soft spot for torties!

Intense and compelling! Super great job Eldad! Ok, how many of us gasped when she slipped on the wall? I know I sure did. I also thought with the pelvic fracture, sadly she was going to have to be put down. Fortuna is one very fortunate cat!
