What an amazing performance! Everyone always mentions Chris Squire’s outstanding bass lines but he was also an incredible vocalist. The way he harmonizes with Jon is a big part of the Yes sound!
SO true, Chris's vocals were such a huge part of their sound, he was every bit as important vocally as anything else, "FISH OUT OF WATER" really showcase's his vocal talents and is a musical masterpiece and evidence of the huge importance of his role in this band!
I saw this preformed in Seattle in 77! Met my true love there and we had a little girl and now she is grown and I have taken her to hear these guys for herself!!
That's cool. I saw them on the Union tour in '91 at the old Center Coliseum. I bet you were there? Also saw ABWH in March '90, Yes on the Talk tour at the Gorge, and again in '98 at the Chateau Ste. Michel winery amphitheater with Alan Parsons Project!

Rick was having a ball here! Always loved this song and this band, best in the world in the genre. Incredible writing and playing. Amazing. Thank you for posting.
I seen them in concert in 1977 JCNJ Roosevelt stadium. It was the most awesome concert. And sadly the last year of concerts due to a stabbing death at the concert. The band was totally totally awesome. My god bring me back
I was a punk back in 77 but I just loved this album and the title track is superb!! I really dont think music will ever be as brilliant as this ever again
..and all these tunes run crazy time signatures. Chris Squire playing those nasty bass lines while singing.. they all sole their souls to get here. I’m sure of it
Yes was such a great live band back in the day, so happy I grew up in the 70's and got to see ALL the best bands. Never will there be another era like that.
Man, this just kills! I bought the album when it came out, and it's still one of my top three Yes LPs. All of these guys were great, and for my money, Squire was drivin' that train. 😎
The late 70´s were a great phase in rock music........YES had developed so much....concerning sound and harmonies........I love that album! They were on the brink of 80´s pop, but better. The 80´s never reached that level, not in rock, not in pop music.
At that time, I remember that Going for the One and Tormato were underestimated by Yes fans in Argentina. Today both are real classics from Yes discography. Time changes everything and puts things on its real place.
The slide guitar blows the back of my skull off.Especially after about 3:50 where you can't even tell what the hell he's doing to it. It's a visitor from another planet at that point ! These guys : )

This song envelopes the meaning of the 70's. I wanna go back there and hop in my little black Datsun 240z with the orange pinstripe that I practically washed and waxed right off of it and just drive listening to YES!
This didn't leave my turntable when I was a young kid in the late seventies. Then Rush's 2112 and All The World's A Stage. Damn, I've always loved Wakeman's synth break in this song and Chris Squire ... This almost beings a tear to my eye... Remembering better days. RIP Neil Peart.

I remember this so well! My friend Willie and I attended the St. Louis stop for the Going for the One tour. My last of 4 other live performances of my favorite Prog Rock band of all time. I saw them all. Genesis, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, The Moody Blues, ELO, Star Castle. Yes was the only band I saw in concert 5 times.
I will miss Yes. Alan White has some family in the town I live in, and a bloke I used to work with had a son who was supposed to be a drumming prodigy. They both met the band back stage at Bingley Hall Stafford on the Going for the One tour, in 1977.
Tormato was the last "thin Chris" tour. Not sure why he went from tailored suits and styled hair to at the end just didn't give a crap what he looked like. The tights or sweatpants were not a good look for him. I think he was just worn out from over 40 years of endless touring.I always loved him no matter what, but in the early years he had a very regal appearance.

Chris Squire really made "Fragile" the classic that it is (especially heard on "Roundabout").

Amen, dude. Saw them twice in the late 70's, and AWBH in the 90's. Great music and musicians.

There never has been another bassist quite like Chris Squire - amazing how much he produces live on one instrument.
Best bass guitar song ever: On the Silent Wings of Freedom, off the Tormato album.
I've been a Yes fan since grade school!! Squire has ALWAYS been one of my most favorite bassists!! A true innovator!!
