    I watched ten videos...and you have the PC and 5.0 backwards...great job. The 5.0's have better linear modulation. And the PC's have less dust.

    Love the set up! I used to buy only hawk back in the 00's but then stoptech made a good street/autox pad with light track duty. But after this video it's maybe time to get the 6 piston brembo calipers and go hp+

    Isnt the factory graphic picture showing better stopping power for 5.0 than for PC? Either Hawk themselves or the test was wrong

    Great Review! Would love to see how they compare to the OEM pad. I think it would solidify the analysis for switching (they are better than OEM).

    From the site.... The Hawk HPS 5.0 is a good choice if you are looking to increase your street performance to the maximum level possible without suffering the adverse side effects of noise and large amounts of brake dust commonly associated with higher performance pads......... NOW.... PC......The Hawk PC (Performance Ceramic) is a great compound when your top priority is to minimize brake dust. This compound is a very popular replacement for OEM Brembo packages supplied on performance vehicles such as Corvettes, Mustangs, Challengers, Chargers, Subaru STI, and many others. If you are not looking to have increased brake performance over the stock level and want to virtually eliminate brake dust, the Hawk Performance Ceramic is what you are looking for. YOU ARE TELLING PPL THE WRONG THING!!!!!!!!

      Hi - We worked very closely with Hawk for this testing along with our DTC track pad testing video as well. Our findings did slightly differ from what was stated on their website. I’ve run both the pads you mentioned on my personal vehicles in addition to this testing as well, and what was said in the video matches both our testing and that experience. I hope this helps shed some light. -Chris

    I"m still a little confused on HPS 5.0 vs PC....is PC more capable? I've used HPS pads several times (the older ones, not 5.0) and I've used all out track pads on the track.
    Is the PC less dust than the HPS or HPS 5.0?
    Is HPS and HPS 5.0 semi-metalic?

    • @thinkforyourself5672
      @thinkforyourself5672 7 месяцев назад

      I can tell you for sure the PC are less dust than the others. That's the main reason I went with them

  • @rickjames5998
    @rickjames5998 Год назад +1

    so would hp + be good for street use or does it need to heat up? I though the 5.0 was their best street bad, how does the Performance Ceramic (yellow) beat the 5.0?

    • @steedaautosports
      @steedaautosports  Год назад +2

      I would only use HP+ in competition use only. They’re quite loud, dusty and would cause unnecessary wear on your rotor unless you’re racing in an autocross.
      PC pads have better initial bite and modulation than the HPS-5.0 pads. Similar performance in terms of temperature, they just feel better to me. The trade off is that the PC does dust a little bit more than the HPS-5.0. Both are great pads though! -Chris

    • @Slowcarfastbeans
      @Slowcarfastbeans 7 месяцев назад

      The HP+ pads do need a little heat to warm up. They’re quiet when cold (ambient temp) and the initial bite is more like a street pad. As soon as they have some heat, they have strong initial bite and make heaps of noise - from a squeak up to an audible and tangible (pedal) grind as the car comes to a full stop. I installed the HP+ pads for a trip to the tail of the Dargon and had a hard time managing the initial bite causing a lot of unintended weight transfer.
      Their use case is just auto-x and Trackcross. For road course use, I would use street pads to get to the track and then switch to a dedicated track pad when you arrive…when you’re ready for dedicated track pads.

    • @steedaautosports
      @steedaautosports  3 года назад +2

      Regardless of using a GT or EcoBoost, the difference in numbers between the pads would still ideally help viewers choose which pad is best for their application. Next time around, we'll see what we can do about getting a GT out there! -Chris

      That EcoBoost sounds horrible...

  • @SirJamesTND
    @SirJamesTND Год назад +1

    Bro has the info on the 5.0 and PC wrong. The 5.0 is the better pad. The PC is a low dust pad and low dust automatically mean less stopping power. They can be good but every aggressive pad comes with brake dust. No ways around that.

    • @steedaautosports
      @steedaautosports  Год назад +2

      Not quite! We’ve tested both pads extensively and I’ve used them both on my personal vehicles. Part of the reason we did this video was to explain the differences and show testing in a real-life scenario. Hope this helps! -Chris

    Did you say the Performance Ceramic is better than the HPS 5.0??? LOL.... You might want to talk to Hawk about that.. its literally right on the website the Hawk 5.0 pad is better than stock and the PC is closer to stock with less dust.. its a ceramic pad!!! This is horrible info!

      The coefficient of friction is slightly higher at lower temps but the mu quickly drops to the same as the HPS 5.0 or lower once the pad gets beyond 600? deg F.
