  • @lolno6975

    The Big difference is in subject matter and primarily how they portray/view them. Kendrick always seems to look at the problem as a whole and how it affects EVERYONE and disects it's brutally. Cole seems to look at his experiences and relates it to him and will pierce the problem from how he's known it himself.
    Depends on how you look at it too. That's why I belive that Kendrick is more "liked" in the sense that because he is portraying problems in a universal matter, it means that EVERYONE can understand it, whereas Cole goes so interpersonal that when the subject matter clicks with yiu you can swear to Jesus that Cole is in your room rapping TO YOU. Also mat be why Cole fans will DIE on that hill, because he really clicked with them.
    (This also isn't to say that either of them can do the other side. Kendrick has really clicked with me personally and Cole can show problems in a universal matter, it's just that this is the commonality)

    • @peterbentin1395
      @peterbentin1395 Год назад +13

      Lol I literally think of it the other way around. GKMC is Kendrick explaining his experiences as a 17-year old and the way he is able to fit a lot of small details into the songs on that album speaks of his greatness, whereas I usually get the impression that Cole speaks from a more general view/perspective or speaks from a different perspective than his own.
      With that said, I’m not claiming that they exclusively do the aforementioned and like the original comment said, they both tend to switch between personal experiences and general view.
      I would also like to mention that Cole has a handful of (very well-executed) “I’m the chosen one/better than your favorite rapper”-songs (MIDDLE CHILD, the feature on Johnny P’s Caddy, etc.), which I don’t remember Kendrick ever doing/don’t remember hearing a song of his like that.
      Both are great artists and I respect them both very much for their work, and they are without a doubt my Top 2 of this/their generation and in the end it basically just comes down to who you like the most/prefer to listen to.

    Kendrick might have the better catalogue, but doesn’t bring artists together like Cole did with for example the revenge tour albums, all the rappers surely had an amazing sesh on those. He brings fans together yearly on dreamville festivals, he is also producing songs and is killing it on most features and appears quite more often on them.
    Kendrick better rapper
    Cole better artist
    Nonetheless enjoy both because it’s stupid to choose only one of them.

      Nobody wants to talk about that though, I be saying he the rap Jesus. He is actually an artist of the people fans and contemporaries. He reaches out and forms unions and makes 🔥 in the process with some unlikely pairs like 21 Savage and Lil Durk. He actually calls out the youth on KOD that leads to a positive one on one conversation with Lil Pump (youth). Not to mention music is just far more relatable and you feel what he’s saying. He’s the 🐐 for sure gifted, real, humble and wants better for his people. People get consumed with Kendrick’s takes on social issues, but Cole really at the White House, at Ferguson, Missouri, protesting in NC, making songs about society issues and others addressing his black queens maaaaan stop it, it’s Cole all day!

    Love Cole, but Kendrick is just better at making songs, albums, song writing, voice manipulation and writing. Only thing Cole has over kendrick is his ability to produce. Cole doesn’t even have a better project than Untitled Unmastered besides the Off Season but even that’s debatable.

      Lmaooooooooo. I swear god kendrick have the worst fan base ever. Kendrick only 2 amazing albums that you can argue being better than j cole discography imo 2014 fhd is better than both cuz its wayyyy more relatable than tpab and gkmc. Damn is mid mr.morale is mid-trash untitled is pretty good imo but 4yeo fnl the warm up are better than kdot discography except tpab and gkmc. Cole is wayyy more relatable than kendrick can you deny that? Kendrick is more complex but imo being more relatable is more important than being complex for this reason cole is better writer.

    The thing about Cole is that even after all these years his pen and flows have gotten even better. Kendrick while great, his pen kind of peaked around GKMC-TPAB era. Maybe because Mr. Morale was a personal album and Damn was personal, Kendricks pen and flows have actually kind of been declining, where as Cole has been pumping out classic verse after classic verse for the past 3 years. Can't say the same about Kendrick. Even though Kendrick does have the better overall body of work, right now if I'm judging bar for bar, flow for flow; I'm choosing Cole.
